I like the PS1 version the most because it plays the best. Even if the PSP does play better, I don't understand Japanese and haven't memorized the game yet so I'd probably get stuck.

Since you haven't tried it, I'd say you ought not judge. It's surprisingly simple to get through; the only situation that might be a bit difficult is if you put it down for a long while and forgot where you left off -- how would you ask around to get an idea of where you are? Even so, what's hard to understand about: (non-to-semi—plot-related spoilers..) Beat Hanmuru, escape with the blue refractor → rescue Junk Store Owner → fight Blumebears, Feldynaught & Bon Bonne → fight the Marlwolf → fight your way into and explore the yellow refractor ruins → repair Wily's boat w/yellow refractor → fight Balcon Gelede → explore red refractor ruins, fight Garudoriten → repair the flutter → explore Clozer Woods Subgate, fight Karumuna Bash → open the Main Gate → fight the Gesellschaft & Fokkerwolf → walk in on Roll dressing → open the Subcities → run into the Bonnes, fight Bruno → get the Watcher/Sleeper/Dreamer keys → free MegaMan Juno → fight MegaMan Juno → fin (A CTUALLY DONE FROM MEMORY -- sorry if there are any errors) It's really quite simple.

I love the PSP version the best because:
1. It's in Japanese. I'm a purist, so I think the original language is the best. Also, the voice-acting is good and I've always wanted to hear the characters speak Japanese. I'm also continuing my studies of this language, so this is good practice. 2. I can finally control Rock with the analog stick! It's easier on the fingers. The analog function is partly the reason why I like RockMan DASH 2 better. 3. It's portable! 4. Awesome box-art.

Reason 1 is bad. Especially since English Legends' voice acting is awesome. Rest are okay.
Quick LOL for people who play the "Nothing beats playing with a Playstation controller in your hand" card: thanks to RemoteJOY I'm technically able to do this with the (superior) PSP version. ^_^ Display transmitted via USB to the PC, controls transmitted to the PSP from PSX Controller to PC through PSX Controller Adapter to JoyToKey to RemoteJoy. I win.
(though I would play it with my 360 pad if anything..)
I need to start proofreading

Reason 1 is bad. Especially since English Legends' voice acting is awesome. Rest are okay. You're right. I should've re-written it to "I can finally hear what the original Japanese version sounds like. And I can finally hear Rock in DASH 2 with a voice closer to his age."

Oh yeah, also, from what I understand the Japanese dialog varies very little from the English, so the usual “The English version is all wrong!” arguments don't apply in as much force. (some stuff got necessarily screwed up or censored though..) He's still voiced by a woman, isn't he? In my opinion, nothing compares to Sevier's take on it. This is partially irrelevant, but this topic's in the MegaMan Legends (1) board, so .. yeah.

My favorite version would be the Playstation one for three simple reasons: Compared to MML64, the voice acting quality is top notch. Compared to the PC version, the ps controller ade it easy to play. Compared to the PSP version, i could pop it on my projector and play it on my wall.

Not sure if anyone else had this problem with the N64 port:
After around 2 to 3 hours of game running time (in a row), the game freezes up. I have done a test run on the first-release N64 and an imported next version model (includes extra heat sinks near the vent) from America. The former freezes up in-game as mentioned, but the latter never happened as far as I can remember.
No less, my favorite would have to be the PS/PSP versions. PS would be the original that I have grown up and loved for so long, and the PSP version is so I can enjoy the game while in a train, on a flight or simply overseas studying.

i could pop it on my projector and play it on my wall. *&%(& How come everyone has nice stuff but me PSX and PC are a tie for me. I am pretty curious about the PSP version, although I heard it's basically the same. One review for the port said you may as well emulate the PSX version on the PSP and save yourself a roll of cash.

One review for the port said you may as well emulate the PSX version on the PSP and save yourself a roll of cash. Or you could do both. ;D (plus MisAdventures !!) XD Again, in this case, the benefit for the PSP version comes in with DASH 2, as that comes with the beta demo “Episode One” and I also think they fixed Nino Island ruins(they didn't feel as incredibly frustrating). Weapon upgrades are cheaper in DASH2 (PSP) also, but some see that as a downside.
No arguments there... PSX-to-USB Controller adapters are cheap. The combined cost of my adapter and the PC game was pretty low(to be fair, I got the PC game for $2 [Clearance item in a Closing sale] [..seriously, though, back then it was a whopping $10 for an adapter]) But even then, this + this > Playstation Controller. If I had a projector I could do this with the PSP version. ^_^ Probably not as well as you, though. There would be a lot of dead-space around the screen...

Oh yeah, I saw that the PSP DASH2 came with Episode1. That is definitely a plus for the second game. I was strictly speaking for DASH1, though.
I might emulate the first game along with MoTB then purchase the second for it's new stuff, seeing as I own all three of these games to begin with. ^^

That's probably the best idea, then yeah.
One final thought that just came to mind is that the PSP version probably controls better than would an emulated ISO. The PSX emulator uses the analog nub to compensate for lack of L2/R2 (probably some other options, too), whereas Capcom adjusted the controls for DASH to play a bit more comfortably. (L+R = Lock-on; Analog Nub = Free-look) That's awfully minor, though, and probably doesn't matter. I suppose you could determine that yourself with emulated MML1 and PSP's RMD2, too. Huh..
*walks off*

I would have mentioned the Playstation version being my favorite....dunno about best, untill I bought Rockman Dash 2 for the PSP. Sure it would be hard to figure out what parts your buying but from playing the game before I can pretty much remember because of the pricing and how much effect the upgrade would have. Completing the game wasnt too difficult, because its easy to follow plus I played it too many times to remember.
I did notice that the weapons upgrades did seem much cheaper then the PS1 version, and that was a huge plus.
But sadly I couldnt use any cheats, which are fun when you milked the game to the max and you need more to keep it playable every day.
Im not sure if this happened before or after I beat the game but there were about 5 or 6(pretty sure it was 5) skill level options to choose from, but when I shut my psp off and came back to it later, the extra option was gone. But when I did play that option before shutting my psp off, the first ruin was terribly lengthy and difficult. Very odd.
Something else that I have to say, is that I almost could swear I played that Episode 1 thing in the Playstation version or another game... but I do know that the Playstation 1 has no options for such a thing.
