My favorite Ghibli films are Castle in the Sky, Naussica of the Valley of the Wind, Howl's Moving Castle, and two others that I have only watched in Japanese. The first one was about a high school girl who enters a cat world, slowly turning into one, the other was about a big brother and his sister trying to survive a war. That one was probably not translated into English since it looks like a rated R movie with gore and such. It was real sad.

The first movie you described in Japanese is called The Cat Returns, which is actually based off of the fake novel in Whisper of the Heart. The second movie you described is called Grave of the Fireflies and actually was translated to English. Supposedly, it is the strongest anti-war film ever made. It was based on a true story, as well.

You mean those charcters were real and endured the attacks? I mean I knew the events were real, but where did you find out the people were real?

It was based on a book this guy wrote about his time in the war. The only thing that they changed from the book is that he actually survived, and didn't die at the end. He mainly wrote it as an apology to his sister for her death.
