Ok, I just bought the Nintendo DS and it's AWESOME! The controls are so fluid and the games are so much fun to play and the graphics are beautiful. And it only costs $149 compared to the upcoming PSP's $299. And get this: Super Mario 64 DS costs only $29.99!!!! You get the greatest game ever made with extra stuff (like the minigames which are FANTASIC!!!!) in your pocket for only $29.99! Did anyone else get it? Hmmmmm......??

GWPharoahMan54 = LUCKY! I want the DS so, so, so badly! I've been following all of the news concerning the system on a twice-daily basis, for longer than I can recall. I've downloaded several commercials, US and Japanese, and I've read tons of reviews, previews, hardware and software specifications, etc. I probably know about as much as can be known without having actually owned/played it! LOL But my self control holds me back. You see, as with every handheld Nintendo makes, I just know that before long there's gonna be a color that I have to have, as opposed to the current silver only. And I figure the longer I have to wait for a color that really appeals to me (not that there's anything wrong with silver), the more games there will be out there for the system, the more likely it will be that prices have dropped on the earlier games, and you never know, if it takes a REALLY long time, I just might find that the DS itself has dropped a bit in price as well! ...How's that for a run-on sentence?

Uhhh... that doesn't do anything. He was saying that the longer he waits, the lower the prices get for the games (although I think that $29.99 is a VERY good price [Thank God for $7.00 an hour jobs hehehe]). I feel the EXACT same way as you, though, fab. I would probably commit suicide if I found out that they were coming out with an orange (my ABSOLUTE favorite color [by the way, did I mention that the DS asks you for your favorite color and your birthday when you first start it up?]) DS that's $50 less then now. But the problem is, I have NO self control WHATSOEVER. I kept saying to myself I HAVE to buy the DS as soon as it comes out. All that aside, I commend you fab. P.S.: Don't worry about the controls. I'd say it has a learning curve of about 1 minute !

Then buy the games early on, and wait until you can actually buy the system! Oddly enough, that's exactly what I've done with XBOX. I bought Shenmue 2 for like $10... But still don't own an XBOX. Anyway, CONGRATS! DS looks so super cool and innovative, etc. Is the new WarioWars game out yet? Dang... Once I know it is, it's gonna be hard for me not to have it. I love WarioWare... It's genius. I can hardly imagine how much more so it'll be on the DS!

Well, WarioWare comes out in 2005. But the good news is that Mr. Driller comes out soon (well, it's only good news if you like Mr. Driller). Also, Adcance Wars DS is coming out in 2005 along with Mario Kart DS.

This is something I have been wondering about the DS, is the touchscreen accurate. Just a question, because I have seen inaccurate touchscreens, they are annoying. The PSP and DS are going to drive eachothers prices down, so when the PSP comes out, I'm 95% sure the DS and PSP prices will go down. Who would of thought when the N64 came out that less than 10 years later there would be a more powerful handheld.

The touch screen is SUPER SUPER DUPER accurate! It is sooo responsive. I tried out the pictochat (sadly alone ) And the drawing mechanic is FLAWLESS!!!!!!

Yeah, I'm hoping I'll get one for Christmas and not have to worry about actually buying it. Mario 64 looks cool, especially 'cause I never owned and N64, and hence, never played it. Wireless 2-player sounds cool too. Also, as opposed to the PSP, which plays DVDs and makes toast, the DS is designed only to play games.
The backwards complatibility is also an issue. I don't own a GBA, so it'd be nice to play some of the games (like Zelda: Minish Cap) that I would otherwise be unable to play.
Here's hoping they put a MegaMan Legends game on it, too. (I would pay ten dollars extra for that, if you Nintendo executives are listening)
