Is that from scratch? I love the poses. No clue what all this talk about Marionettes means, but the sprites are very good. o.o

Indeed it looks very good, and I myself cannot put my finger on the base - though it may be from a game I don't know of. Is there a base, or is it in fact from scratch? Either way, certainly is very cool. And, while I know it's a WIP, all I can see that would need fixing or improving is the shading.

The base is Akari from SNK Versus Capcom: Match of the Millenium, for Neo Geo Pocket Color. I saw someone over at The Fallout Shelter sprite in this style, so I went and did the same.
Marionettes are a type of android in the Saber Marionette J anime. They're mostly female in design. Aura is a special case. She, like Android 19 from Dragonball Z, can drain energy from her opponents via her palms. She can only do this to rival Marionettes, though, and only then in small amounts, and only THEN in an emergency.

I knew I recognized the style from somewhere. Could you maybe post the base?
Certainly sounds like an interesting character. Is that anime any good?

Yes, it's a very good anime, with its funny moments, sad moments, and cheerful moments. The base can be found here.
