This barely deserves a topic, but I honestly have no idea where else to put it. Remember that Liaison position they said they were accepting applications for? I personally figured they'd forgotten about it all together, but apparently I'm wrong, and they've officially appointed a person for that job, and that person is Greg Moore. (AKA GregaMan, apparently) Not much information yet, but there should be more later today. I have no idea what this guy's actual job is going to involve, seeing as we've been preeeetty much kept up-to-date on things from the Japanese side for teh Legends 3 Project, but who knows? It sounds like he'll be running the show over at the Devroom now or something like that, so maybe this will have some significance for future events or something. EDIT: It sounds like having this guy around miiight be a nice help to those who think the western side is being ignored by the dev-team in Japan. But those people are silly anyway.

Hey Greg Moore! Hopefully your not taking advantage of us and using this project as a stepping stone into Capcom. You break our hearts I'll break ya neck :16: ! Just kidding.

Phew, hopefully we'll be seeing more responses out of the east side now.

Hopefully your not taking advantage of us and using this project as a stepping stone into Capcom. I thought that was a silly thing to say, 'til I re-read the article and saw no mention of any history with MegaMan Legends in his description. Now I'm concerned. Hopefully his introduction later today will clear that up.. Just noticed, in the latest Kinako's Daily Report, jgonzo notes that this guy may be helpful in getting some comments/questions from the Unity side of things into future updates on that segment. So there's something this guy's going to be doing, I guess. Maybe. ;

But at the end of the day even if he doesn't have a passion for Legends it's in his best interest to do a good job for him to move on to something else.

Nah, I just think it's odd they introduced this guy, even listing some of his qualifications, without mentioning anything about Legends. ; But then again, at the moment, this news post doesn't appear on the actual devroom page. And I think we're still waiting for another news post from GregaMan himself. (Unless that's already on the forums or something...) I'm betting it's nothing to be concerned about; it just had me wondering for a second. XD

I don't expect that much, since the guy's job will basically be to allow the Capcom developers to have less interaction with the western devroom, and make him a spokesmen. At least that's the way I'm currently looking at it. Maybe not, Maybe this guy will be able to deliver the earlier promises that posting in the Devroom would actually get noticed by the team making the game. (jgonzo and even Eguchi early on posted a few times, mostly from jgonzo saying that good topics were actually being marked so developers could look them over, but most people never really bought it).
So maybe GregaMan's job will entail translating marked stuff and sending it to be at least read by people as they make the game, but that is getting a bit too hopeful.

Umm... Maybe I'm missing something here, but wouldn't the Bonne Mech proposals and now the NPC/Townspeople thread count as marked threads? Much to my dislike, the forums have been the outlet for two of the major events now already. Did they specifically say non-event posts would be read by the developers too? Personally, having seen some of the stuff that goes on over at the devroom, I hope the dev-team isn't listening. :22:
[/sub][/sup]But you're probably right on that end. I'm betting GregaMan goes and relays certain information to the Japanese, but hopefully probably only when they specifically ask for something. EDIT: Update! Here's his intro on Capcom Unity. Seems like an OK guy to me — and a true Legends fan at that. Go check it out!

Yeah, Seems cool. As far as post from jgonzo on it, I couldn't really find one, but I swear I didn't hallucinate, and he meant the general forum and marking topics of interest. But I did find a post from Mikeeb which supports what I remembered as far as communicating actual post and ideas.
Again, I wish I could find the exact post where I remember hearing them say it, but it was pretty early on and =/ I couldn't really find it on a quick search.

Poor kid, Gonzo's already forcing him to wear a dorky hat and it's gotta be, what, his first day in? :17: He seems pretty well-dressed otherwise. Quel dommage! It's nice to see that he's into the game enough to buy MoTB at its initial release. He must be laughing at everyone who passed it up earlier on and had to shell out 100+USD on Amazon for a copy later on down the line.

Based on that post, I'd say it doesn't sound very serious about the dev-team keeping an eye on the forums, and the liaison (I keep mis-spelling this word...), it sounds like, is probably more or less summarizing things and relaying them to the dev-team in Japan, and not so much translating whole topics. And quite honestly, I still see that as potentially meaning special threads for specific topics they want to hear about, rather than every little topic that comes up over there.. But I will take your word for it, because there is literally more than a dozen things I remember hearing early on that I can't find a source for any more. >_< Never thought I'd see the day when there was too much Legends 3 information. :06: EDIT: Nightshade That was hardly ninja'd; I posted that like fifteen twenty-five minutes ago. o__o;

Most of the CoA employees I've conversed with over the Dev-Room have seemed pretty laid-back. It might be partly environment related. I hope it's environment related. In the entertainment industry it's not exactly rare for casual to act as the new business-casual, if you know what I mean. About a month ago I went to an industry conference in business casual attire and found all the pros out there in T-shirts and jeans talking about random rubbish like a bunch of college kids, so I wouldn't be terribly worried about a lack of seriousness.
