I'm pretty sure it's because Megaman is the type that would protect anyone in any situation. Were Tron in Roll's place, he'd probably do the same. Heck, were it anyone else in Roll's position, he'd probably do the same.

I swear, you'll find nothing in the games that's strong enough to suggest MegaMan has any interest in Roll(or probably anyone for that matter).
