Hello. Does anybody know how to rip audio (As in, music tracks) from a playstation1 disk? I was playing MML2, and I've noticed multiple songs that I can't find anywhere (All from cutscenes, such as when Megaman, Appoh, and Dah reach Glyde's base, or when Glyde's ship gets hit with the Parabola Gun) So, would somebody mind telling me? Also, if I need a special program, then can you tell me a free one I could get?

Yeah. I haven't used it in a while, but the entire audio track as far as I can tell is in a folder on the Legends 2 Disc for Playstation. I believe the folder is named “XA”, and you should be able to find a converter at Zophar's Domain. Try XA2WAV near the bottom of this page. Just about any media player should be able to play the WAVs, though you might want to look into some way to turn those into MP3’s, just to save space. From what I remember there were a lot of different files in that folder, BGMs as well as the spoken audio(separate files = win). Good luck finding anything in there.

Hm...that doesn't seem to work. My Mac doesn't let me access .EXE files, and my PC says that Windows is unsuitable for running the application. Are there any other programs that can do this? (Preferably for Mac OSX, although I can make do with most other programs)

Unfortunately, the sound files with the tunes you mentioned are combined with the dialogue. You may need to find something else to filter out the voices, if it's possible.

Are you certain? I could've sworn I found that the files were separate from each other... In any case, I can't help as far as Macs go. Macs are stupid. I'd suggest perhaps, using a virtual Desktop of some sort. If there's some Mac version of Wine, maybe try that.

WINE is a pseudo-Windows program thing. Lets you run Windows software on non-Windows platforms. it's “not an emulator,” but it kind of works like one.
But if the voices are on the same track as the tunes it wouldn't work well to listen to them.

Most of the music and voice files are separate. I think Capcom merged a select few of them for tunes that only play during one cutscene as a way to save space. If you listen carefully to some of Atomic Fire's MML "Lost Tracks", you can hear faint hiccups of what sound like really quieted down voices, particularly in "Approaching Kattelox Island" in the MML1 compilation. I think Heat Man may have a means of filtering out the voices somehow, but he hasn't gotten to it for MML2 yet. Maybe he did it for Klaymoor's Theme, it sorta sounds like it has those ghost voices in it too. I'd suggest contacting Heat for information on the possibility of ripping those two elusive tunes.

Well, their is actually more than one tune. There were two in the opening cutscene (Yuna attacking the Sulphur-Bottom, and Roll deciding to go to the Sulphur-Bottom) one right before the first mission, one on Calbania (When you reach Glyde's base) one when the Parabola gun is fixed, and I'm guessing there are more, I just haven't gotten that far (As I've only recently been noticing the music in the games)
But thanks, I'll get to him on that.

Are you certain? I could've sworn I found that the files were separate from each other Proof to that is the megaman Juno soundtrack hosted in the legends station.
