I should probably retire from these on last year's note, but that wall of text is just so enthusing.

I'm so glad I didn't miss the signups. I was thinking about this event a couple of weeks ago and had completely forgotten in the time since. This is always a favorite of mine and I look forward to it every year. This year my request: Downfall of the Donner Wels

I've logged all of the prompts so far in the first post and will be sending out assignments later today. You may take this opportunity to double-check your prompt if you like.
The signup period is technically closed, but if anyone else would still like to participate I can accommodate them for a few more days. Though obviously, the sooner you let me know the better.

I started work a little while ago. A bit unorthadox than what I'm used to, but it's making progress.

HF: Feels like the sleeper hit of the summer blockbuster season has come. Space Apollo : I'm getting vibes of when Homer Simpson had to be a mall Santa. XD Hopefully one of them doesn't try to yank off his hair, thinking its fake. Dragge : The Feline Revolution has come. XD A simple work, but it does the job nicely. Well done. Blyka : Oh, this had me laughing... Um, Tiesel, watch out for that building! XD @emeltee: Feels about right for the Master. A mechinized attempt at what's deemed as perfection.. but is it, really? That's something I think only the carbons can answer. @mirak: WIth a weapon that size, I think Rock's got the prerequisites for monster hunting. If he could left it, he could knock a barrioth out cold with a whack. @fab: "Confound that blue boy! Ooh, how I hate him- I hate his timing! I hate his weapons! And I hate how he always shows up when no one asked him to! HE DRIVES ME TO DRINK!!!!" Oh god, I could just see Tiesel screaming in Dan Backslide fashion. If someone animated that, I'd probably die laughing. Bravo... I"m laughing to tears, here. XD vilepixel : If Mel Brooks taught us anything in The Little Rascals, this won't end well, but we'll get a good laugh out of it. MegaTuga : Simple , but it really works. Let's just hope that top ornament doesn't have a carbon reinitialization program put into it. ^^; wingin : Ooh, a train scene. Very nice. Now I want to go in an order a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy the scenery passing by. I like the Bonus. Really sets a good scene of a celebration for this time of year.

Imma stealing your template for this, ravenf6 . :v Just look at how embarrassed Teisel looks. That look on his face makes it look like he's done something like this before but in far less "desirable" circumstances. Come on, what is Tron blackmailing him with this time?
Dragge They look fine too. Don't judge me. :v
Blyka Oh look. It's DuckBonne on Ice.
Santa Melty I'm liking the contrast of clean lines at the top to hatching and rough lines going down to the bottom. Also great work with organizing this year's SS.
Mirak Thanks for fulfilling mine this year!
Now that you brought it up, I can't help but think Roll needs that money if she's going to work around the clock just like any Japanese Salaryman and OL. Also chocolate pudding at the beginning.
Not sure if there's a second joke I'm missing, but just a quick lesson: 支配 (pronounced Shi-Hai) means "conquer" or "take control of". I can see how the translation came to be via Google Translate, though the use of that phrase is always forceful. Considering the context, "Because I've lost control of my life" would translate to something along the lines of 「人生が狂ってんだよさ」(jinsei ga kuruttenda yo sa, lit. "(My) Life's all screwed up.") On paper it's not a perfect translation, but it emphasizes the exasperation and defeatism the original and this translation portrays.
fAB Great work on the details for this piece. Liking the rubble and sheer amount of detail in the background. Also Teisel looks HUGE.
vilepixel "Uh... no?" "Good enough. No one on this island carries theirs around anyway."
MegaTuga Data: MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE
Everyone thumbs up. All's good.
wingin Really liking the backgrounds and shading you used for your two pieces. Very nice. That Servbot (assuming it's the same one in both) looks like he's had "something" to enjoy everything he's seeing (whatever it is!).
Das war ein Befehl! Der Angriff Steiners war ein Befehl! ("Translation": You wasted time on what!? Instead of working on new pages you wasted time on what now!?)

Merry Christmas everybody! HF This is the mecha holywood movie that I never thought I wanted so much. I'm going to assume that all the japanese names are either voice actors or producers of the games. nice cameo. Space Apollo I definitively asked for this haha. I like your take on it. Tron is almost in a flirty pose which scares me after watching all that imouto love anime. Dragge Love the crayon drawing! Hard to imagine how well this looks compared to most of those I see. Blyka It's.... you are not wrong, but the pose man... that pose is exquisite. @emeltee It just fits right for the Master. I love the "scarf" that coils around his body. @mirak Ah the good old LOLMML style comics. This was pretty much what I would do if I was assigned that prompt. Including the neighs. fAB there's something about Tiesel's pose that speaks to all of us. It's just so iconic. vilepixel Ah the good old trick of two kids wearing a jacket. Though you are supposed to close it! I thought the swirly glasses Servbot was the smart one! ravenf6 Not quite the "jump for joy" their poses seem to communicate uh? I adore the Snowman reaver. wingin Volnutt is about to demolish tron with a Wild 4 and she won't even see it coming. And boy do I adore his casual attire in the second piece. There's something about Yuna that makes her look nice in a santa dress too. So in the spirit of "trying things you haven't tried before" I went for photoshop! I will be honest, I wanted a twist to my prompt like I always do but this time I wasn't able to think of one. So the idea here was a view of a christmas tree with presents and the shadows of the Caskett family having fun in the background. I tried several types of tools to make all the pieces seem natural but sadly it seems that it wasn't all that well hidden. Especially the eye. I wanted it to be a source of light in the piece while still being in the shadow. As if everybody is in a different room. Now that I think about it, I could have given a doorframe light square or something to make it seem more like there's also light from outside the scene. Anyway. it was fun to come up with that, even if frustrating at times haha.

Time for my rundown on this year's entries!
HF: I really liked the idea of a war movie poster! I was excited to see that you received my request this year! Thanks a ton!
SpaceApollo: Yeah I can imagine that Teisel wouldn't be up for this kind of thing. I love Bon just looming over everyone in the background.
Myself: I'm not good at drawing animals so i figured that basic shapes and blobs would work out better in my favor. I noticed MegaTuga's comment about using crayons. I actually used a small set of oil pastels that I bought and tried them out since I never used them as a medium for art before (except for school but that was years ago). The more I created the picture the more I realized that it was going to look like crayon art but I still enjoyed making this. A couple other things to point out in my thought process. I thought it'd be funny to have the cats steal Megaman's weapons to fight back against the dogs and if you look at the top middle, I tired to put in one of the Kattelox workers that is seen hanging around Old City.
Blyka: Riding around on those ducks brings back a ton of memories. Love it! Quack!
MLT: This one's really cool, having the last remaining human surrounded by all the machinery.
Mirak: I enjoyed the inclusion of the Rugrats joke. I could totally imagine Roll going overboard like this.
FAB: All of that wreck and ruin from a 14 year old boy. Just curious, was there ever a point when you considered putting in any of the destroyed mechs from Legends 2 or was it always Legends 1 focused?
Vilepixel: This was sweet and enjoyable. Nice to see side characters, like the cop, get a little attention for a change.
MegaTuga: I like a good photoshop image. The image really portrays the spirit of the season, great job!
Raven: Your art is always improving! Great piece and I like the snowman reaverbots.
Wingin: Yosyonke always brings back memories of Christmas and the interior shot of the train invites warm memories of relaxing winter days from when I was a kid. Data sleeping on the luggage rack is cute.
Great year everyone! I'm glad that we are able to keep this tradition going and I hope we can get it going again next year!

Hi everyone! Great job creating even more sweet Legends artwork again this year! Don't have the time to comment just now and haven't seen everyone else's comments yet, but I've finally put the previews on the main site. And the SS'18 gallery is on the site as well: www.legends-station.com/?page=fan/secretsanta2018/gallery
HF - Yes, I read all the tiny text! This is cleverly done and beautifully executed. You seem to have put "for TREGE" though, rather than Dragge. Space Apollo - Nicely drawn. Leaves me wondering how the situation got to such an advanced point without prior protest from Teisel. Tron's definitely up to no good. Dragge - This perfectly conveys the chaotic nature of the prompt. Blyka - See your IRL memory for my specific comments. XP Emeltee - Thanks so much for fulfilling my request! Feels both mechanical and magical. Makes me somehow imagine this is the Master in his relative youth, working on designing the first reaverbot ever. Mirak - Fun, funny, and I like the colors a lot. My favorite line is "MAKING WEAPON," the way she's still coherent enough to answer but obviously losing ground. Vilepixel - I'm not sure I'm understanding what is is they're doing again, but I like how quickly and easily it goes south, and the uncertainty in that Servbot's smile is fantastically subtle. MegaTuga - You've created some great atmosphere with this piece. Well done! ravenf6 - My favorite aspect has to be Sera, giving two thumbs up while looking as unamused as one would expect her to be. Wingin - You really caught the giving essence of this event, adding that bonus piece! And both of them are beautifully done. I think that Yosyonke Polar Express is my favorite from this entire year's set. It just makes we want to be on that train, even if the characters themselves weren't there. And I so want one of those Horokko flower pots! XD As for my own piece, I had a lot of trouble finding a good balance between concept, medium, and feasibility, but I'm pretty pleased with where things ended up. For a stylistic shake up, I normally tend to go with vivid colors so this time I focused on setting a mood with a more drab and somber tone. Not as ambitious as my usual shake ups, but oh well. In regards to the pose, yeah, referenced the screenshot directly, because it's just so perfect for the scenario and emotion. As for Teisel looking huge... maybe a little, but I wouldn't have thought so? Given the enormous size of those bigger mecha, the perspective is pretty extreme. And I did initially consider putting in more mecha from MML2, but I started with MML1 and ran out of room and time to include even the lesser mecha I wanted to like Zuuf Gelede and Horunisse, and even Draches and Leopordo barely got scraps in the foreground.

Great turnout! Fun and humor feel even more prominent this year than most, making for quite an entertaining lot. Good stuff all around! Dragge : Haha, I didn't know what to expect with my prompt but I certainly wouldn't have come up with Mega Man's own arsenal. XD Most amusing! For anyone confused by my entry, it's in reference to the Yosyonke duck. There was once a question of if it could be ridden after kicking it against a building, and it was the best fit I could think of for "weird yet enjoyable". I hope it provided some good laughs at any rate.
Thanks to everyone for another successful Secret Santa (and Santa Melty for hosting (don't forget to share pics of your new yacht)), and Happy New Year to all!
