This topic has various discussions, all dormant, on several websites, but I need a solid, definite answer. How customizable are Mega Man Legends 2 controls on PS1? Especially the right analog stick and L3/R3? I would really like to map turning to the right stick, jet skates to L3, Lock-On to R3, Buster to L2, and Special Weapon to R2. Please do not answer unless you have 100% certainty. Thank you very much.

100% Certainty: It CAN be done on emulation, but to do it on hardware you need gameshark and a lot of skill. It's 100% doable but I'd have to iron it out.
Of related note, if you map both joysticks, you cannot functionally use jump unless it's R1/L1, or your fingers'll need to be weird. Is that alright?

I'm only using original PlayStation hardware. How far can it be done with only the original console, game, and DualShock?

There's no button mapping in-game, the only control option is to swap cameraturn & Straferunning. If you had a gameshark or actionreplay, you could remap any buttonhooks in code.
Really, to pick into the code to remap, you'd need an emulator with debug. I can do that part for you though, were you to have a gameshark you could use.

Well, as long as I can map camera to the right stick or L1/R1, I'm good. Thanks for the help!
