Sorry for the delayed response; someone decided to call out yesterday at work so I was stuck working part of that shift and was on the verge of collapsing afterwards...
Dashe , that's part of the plan! I have a small gallery of works which I intend to post soon in these forums. Oh, and glad you liked the image of the Servitor Unit getting busted.
Heh, heh, heh.
Mikéy , I just like doing these kinds of intros. It's kind of my personal flavor, you know.. I like to be a little witty once in a blue moon...
Anyway, it's about high time I more formally introduce myself. The name's Servitor Unit Lucina, or SU Lucina for short (or alternatively, you can just call me Lucy.)
My Story: I've been a fan of the Mega Man Series so long as I can remember thanks in part to my two older siblings. I used to watch them play Classic Series and X Series Mega Man with their hardcore skills, mesmerized by the fast-paced gameplay and the elaborate defeats of the Robot Masters/Mavericks (yay, fireworks!) I dreamed of someday being able to play those games, and when I was about 7 years old, they finally gave me the reins. I started out slow and I died a lot, but years later down the road, I managed to beat them all. There was just one thing, though; although I "owned" my brothers' Mega Man collection, I didn't officially own my own Mega Man title. That was not until close to around my 11th birthday on a fated trip to Toys R Us (R.I.P.) change that. You see, at the time I originally wanted Kirby 64 thanks in part to his appearance in Super Smash Bros. When we went to the section where they sold the newest video games, Kirby 64 was nowhere to be seen. Instead, there were loads of copies of Mega Man 64 on the shelves. As soon as I noticed MegaMan on the box art, I knew I wanted that game. So instead of leaving empty-handed, we took home ol' Mega Man 64. This was not only my first Mega Man game I officially owned but it inadvertently introduced me to the Legends Series.
Sure, the graphics were subpar compared to its original incarnation on the PlayStation as I later found out, but I sure enjoyed the heck out of it. Even at that age, I knew this was a different Mega Man from what I was used to but I didn't care. It had Mega Man in the game, with all the blastin' and explodin' (hooray! more fireworks!) action I was familiar with. Soon, I was making art and other knickknacks like little refractors made out of colored foil off the cups of Yoplait yogurt I used to eat then. I also happened to run across a website where I ultimately found out that the game I had a sequel on a different system, Mega Man Legends 2 - the Mega Man Legends Station. After having watched enough footage of the game that I was practically spoiled on its entirety on YouTube, I started asking for it and finally nabbed it after graduating from high school (circa 2008... yeah, I got it kinda late... )
Sadly, I was not aware of the development of Mega Man Legends 3 until after its cancellation. Like,
2 years afterwards in 2013. Why? College. A
very stressful time in college. So unfortunately, I couldn't have taken part in the Devroom (maybe it would have made a difference if I... now that I think it, perhaps not... of course not, because it's Capcom.) I was thrust into employment shortly after graduation.
For the next 2 years, my fandom of Mega Man was temporarily overshadowed by other titles such as Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Rayman Origins, and various Legend of Zelda titles which I have played to death and beaten far too many times (save Skyward Sword.) I was starting to get bored of games in general. I needed something to regain my desire to sit down in front of the TV and push buttons on a controller. While rotting my brain watching videos on YouTube, I stumbled on a game a dude by the username of "chuggaaconroy" was let's playing - Okami. Yes, another Capcom title and one that is reviled by a number of LOZ fans. I only saw a masterpiece of a game, and my salvation to my video game midlife crisis. The game, being similar to the Zelda titles I've played in years past, but different for its settings and not to mention its reference to Japanese culture reminded me of all that I loved about another game that was slowly collecting dust somewhere in a corner... It was good ol' Mega Man Legends (64, same difference.) I dug it out, put it in the console, turned it on, and started playing again. I started to care about Mega Man again. I started to care about Legends again.
In October of 2015, shortly after finishing Okami and filled with limitless inspiration, I obtained a piece of printer paper and started to draw on it. A form took shape. It was a Reaverbot; more specifically, it was the transformation state of a Servitor Unit who I would later designate as "Lucina," after the name's etymology from the Latin word for "light." The name was also used as a title for the Roman goddess Juno, from whom MegaMan Juno ultimately got his name from (planets and asteroids are named after mythological characters from ancient times)(oh, and I was
well familiar with the name Lucina
long before Fire Emblem Awakening came out, fyi.) This is where my character's story begins. And yes, like Anima, my username comes from my main fan character. An image of her can be found somewhere on the Main Site under "Fan Art" under "SU Lucina" if you haven't already seen it (thanks
fAB , a year late.)
My favorite schema in the Legends Series: the System and the Reaverbots, and my work is specialized in that field. I also love the Servbots and the Bonnes. They are some of the most colorful and lovable characters in the series. Ever.
My Plans at the Station: I'm very much interested getting involved in designing stuff like minor enemies, mechs, town buildings, etc. for TLT as well as content for Rockman Striker's project, the Master System. As being an artist, of course there will be art. I will also attempt to scrounge for any last scrap of stuff to talk Legends.
*sigh* Since I haven't been on the forums for over a decade, I've sadly missed out participating in threads that were active long ago because I was not officially a member and I was very shy back then. To avoid necroposting all over the place, here's a rundown on some of my favorites and least favorites as well as some responses to miscellaneous threads:
Favorite Game in MML Series: Tie between MML1 and MML2
Favorite Characters in MML Series: MegaMan, Roll, Data, Tron, Teisel, the Servbots, Gatz, and Yuna (sorry "Speccy," Gatz was more fleshed out than you)
Favorite Final Boss in MML Series: MegaMan Juno (sorry Sera.)
Favorite Reaverbot: Firushudot
Favorite Ruin in MML Series: Calinca Ruins (MML2), can't decide on a favorite for MML1; they all have something special about them
Favorite Minor Character: Ira
Least Favorite Ruin: Shala-kun Ruins (MoTB)
Least Favorite Reaverbot: Janfoden (Shoebafun is a close second)
Least Favorite Minor Character: Tie between the Curator (MML1) and Zhig and Zhag (MotB)
What I've Noticed: When MegaMan's karma is very positive (light MegaMan,) there are half a dozen raccoon-like critters running around the area near the Flutter and the Pokte Ruins on Manda Island. On the other hand, if his karma is very negative (dark MegaMan,) none can be seen; it's like the animals there can sense the evil within him. And I'm not the only one who noticed the strange Mimic in the Saul Kada Ruins that stands up and spits a small amount of Zenny when you provoke it.
If you want me to elaborate on any of these, just ask.
