I can't read Japanese, myself. Can I get a head count of who's active around here who could translate this?

Nice find, atomiccrusader . I can't read Japanese, myself. Can I get a head count of who's active around here who could translate this? If I remember correctly, @hf might be able to translate it, I don't know if he may have time to do it tough. tl;dr: I accept. I own copies of the DASH 2 4-koma, so I have some basic idea of what's in there and how to go about the translation (the tricky stuff being handling the language-specifics and jokes that get lost in translation due to names*). Judging by the amount of content, it should take a full day or two as a solo effort if I really push myself. *Because of that, I would rather stick to the Japanese names due to the sheer amount of wordplay used (with exception of stuff like Reaver/Reaverbots, ironically coming from myself). If that's not a problem I can have a crack at it over the weekend. Edit: Looking at some of the images looks like they're cut up quite a bit, presumably to minimize mutilating the book it's scanned from. I can restore the blurry bits as much as I can, but the end product would inevitably be lossy (though the content is mostly intact). At the very least, I can use my copy as reference for the blurred text as some of it is impossible to make out. Also who should I credit the provider of the scan to?

hey - sorry i have literally no idea on how to properly reply to forum boards and such as ive never used them before, but im the one that scanned it! im @volnuttsnuts (haha,) on tumblr where i originally created the post with the links to the DL.
sorry my scans were not very clean or professional. ive never scanned anything before. i was especially rushed while scanning them too, as i honestly didnt have the patience to scan the entire thing slowly. some of the pages turned out good while others could really be redone due to this. im not sure of the extent to which you could fix them on your own, so if you tell me the page numbers that you would like rescanned i can rescan them on thursday! im ok with giving the book a little wear and tear to get good scans, but i cant cut it. ill update the download file with the improved scans, but i can send the new ones directly to you if you dont want to download the whole thing and sift through it again.
since the book cost me at least $60 (thanks to conversion rates and shipping fees), i cant bring myself to cutting the pages out and doing a proper scan. however im going to try to find the book again, cheaper this time, and buy it to do a proper scan. ive seen the book on japanese auction sites, but was too hesitant at the time with the huge risk to go through a buyers service to get them for less than $20. if i do buy another book and do a proper scan, may i use your translations? ill edit them in myself so you wont have to do any more work. this most likely wont happen for awhile though.
also, sorry for not being able to re-scan certain ones immediately. my parents are split and i wont be back at my moms house until thursday, and she owns the scanner i used. if you finish the translation before i can rescan the pages, i could add in your translation myself to the rescanned ones if need be.
anyway thanks so much for agreeing to translate it!! i cannot thank you enough. the 4koma can be enjoyed thanks to the art and a few panels that can be figured out by visual alone, but it would be so much better if it was translated. thank you!!!

Hi yerrgat . Thanks for providing the scans. For this little translation project I would be able to provide the typesetting and formatting, in addition to translation and image cleanup. Would you want to be credited as "volnuttsnuts", or anything else? For ease of communication, are there any other ways I can reach you (Discord, LINE, etc.)? I went through the initial scans yesterday, and though I can do something about scans which get a little blurry towards the book spines there's nothing I can do about the scans with panels cut off. To save each other some time, I suggest priority-wise to only rescan the pages with panels clearly cut off (at least in the meantime). Yeah, I have always heard that imports to the West from Japan have been complete nightmares in terms of shipping/handling fees. Since this is brought up, I would personally like to make this a mini project of sorts (having set aside time for it). That way I can stay on for putting this together. As a bonus, I would have all the raw files for putting together any new versions quicker. What do you think? It would take me some time to clean up the pages (straightening, sharpening any blurry bits, etc.) in addition to translation anyway, so feel free to add them whenever you're ready. And thank you again for providing the scans to begin with! Welcome to MMLS, yerrgat ! Your efforts are certainly appreciated. HF , as always, I'm down to proofread whatever you come up with. Sure. I'll see how things go on my end and we can go through some of them once I have something ready.
Edit: Double posting for visibility. I noticed that color pages 9, 10, 14, and 15 (page numbers) are missing from the archive.

ok - sorry for late reply first of all, i got caught up with stuff yesterday but im off today. i decided to just rescan the ENTIRE thing, im in the middle of it now and ill be done in about an hour or two (it doesnt take long), then ill reformat the pages and update the download link. the scans are coming out a lot better the second time around, and it should give you way less work. apologies in advance if you already started fixing up some pages! i have a LINE, yeah! ill message it to you and we can talk on there. also that idea you mentioned sounds good! it'll make things easier if i have to scan the cut-out pages, whenever that day comes also i didn't even realized i skipped some pages near the beginning, whoa. they're rescanned now, ill let you know when the new updated scans are up! EDIT: heres the updated zip file of the scans all the files are numbered correctly so it isnt a huge mess of filenames, and the quality of the scans (less cut off pages, less blurriness) should be better. however, there are still some pages that are not to my liking, but there is no way i can get them in any better quality given the circumstances, unfortunately. this is the best i can do, i hope its ok!

Just like to confirm I have received the updated scans, and am currently redoing them (definitely much less to tweak this time around).

Cool! I think this could have great potential for another obscure RMD manga to be translated and known!
