Hello to all the doods and doodettes.... This is a pretty nerdy site.... I LOVE IT! I'm a big legends fan. I have MML, MML2, and MATB, and also a frequent visitor of this site, but not until tonight did I decide to actually register. Love all the content. I'm looking forward to Capcom suddenly realizing how stupid they've been and actually making MML3 a reality, but it probably wont happen. Anyway, I'm a CG Artist based out of LA, and an aspiring Game Developer. Or I guess an Indie Dev??? I'm working on a UE4 edition of Legends. The goal right now is a fully functional Ocean Tower segment, but it's still a ways off so let's learn to walk before we Jet Skate shall we!!! For the curious, more info can be found here: jjchalupnik.com/mega-man-legends-redux-ue4-edition/I also made a thread in the "Forum Games" Section here: (Not sure if that is the best place or not) mmls.proboards.com/thread/6145/mega-man-legends-ue4-editionCheers!

Sounds real neat, I've been into a lot of Unreal3 projects, the engine has a lot of people fiddling with assets in it. Renegade-X was semi-successful with the Unreal3 engine, and Uber Entertainment's fan/intern had been importing Unreal 3 models for their game into Unreal 4 (the code would be the greatest rework, using C+ instead of UnrealScript).
Best of luck with that, and glad to see other lurkers finally register like I only did what seems like recently. I registered earlier this year, but been actively viewing since Tau's abridged was making new episodes.
I don't know who to contact, but I'd swear if it weren't you I were thinking of, that someone else was playing around with UDK and MML. You should possibly collaborate, might be UE3 an UE4 differences though. Also, I know the Discord chat always has people posing Blender models from MML. Fun times, might even interest you.

Hi there, Jitterbug ! Good to have you on board. It's good to see that fAB's been doing a great job with his designs to attract fellow Legends fans! There's a couple things I'd like for you to know about: 1) I moved your MML-intro recreation thread out of forum games into Original Games & Game Design, since undoubtedly that's a better home for it! 2) If you wish to get even more involved with our community, you can choose to come join us on Discord! It's a browser-friendly text-chat (and voice-chat) app that allows for various organized discussions to happen all at once, and we feel it's a great asset to our forum community. We just ask that you ensure that you continue to post important / intricate content here in the forums so that they remain a strong means of sharing content and discussion. I watched the video you did of the run-through of the ruins; it looks like a solid copy of the entire tower! It'll be good to see you finish it, and I'm sure you have our full moral support in finishing.

Hey! Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I'm excited to post the next update, which will have quite a bit more functionality to the level. I just need to finish Trigger and get him in engine. There's definitely a lot of work to be done. I did do a little bit of work in UDK(Nothing MML related), but no programming really. My goal with this MML Redux project is to do everything in Blueprints, then compile to C++ in the end. Mikéy - Thanks for moving the thread. Definitely seems like a better spot for it. I'm still new to the forum! As for discord, I already subscribed to the group. I will definitely continue posting both stuff here, and on Discord. I might also open a thread via Unreal Engine's forums to get more specific help on development. ShadyRounds - I know there is at least one other guy doing some MML stuff in UE4, I think it's Pervy-Sama(on Discord)... but it looks like his goals are a little different than mine for the project. There's a lot of overlap there for sure though. The Renegade-X UE3 game is something I'm not familiar with. Is there a "best" link you know of that I can look at? Since UE4 is a modern engine, the hope is to really get a lot of detail that was otherwise non-existent in the PS1 games. And even what they could accomplish with the 3DS. Right now the only finished asset I have is the Zakobon on Sketchfab. This will look different in engine with cel-shading and lighting etc.... BUT its a decent indication of the kind of art direction I'm hoping to put into the game. At least in my imagination, I always saw the ruins as these worn, dusty, old facilities. A rough beaten down and dystopian quality. So I'd really like to accomplish that look and feel with the environment design. And while I won't be changing much of the physical layout of the ocean tower level, I do want that feel to be really strong. Using light and texture to sell that look. Something similar to Laputa in Castle in the Sky, where nature has taken it's toll on the structures, but everything still functions. Right now, I'm more preoccupied with functionality rather than art. I need Trigger and a reaverbot to start, and I need the level functionality to get a feel for the gameplay. I probably won't get to the final look until the game actually plays proper. Piecing in art as I get stuck or bored doing the logic. That means targeting systems, buster gun, custom animations etc... It's all a pretty big learning experience for me, but I hope anyone who sees it and is a fan won't be disappointed.

Welcome to MMLS! I wish you the best of luck on your project, and just remember, keep it small to exponentially increase your potential for success! I speak with the wisdom that can come only from experience, like a guy who went blind from looking at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it and now goes to schools speaking of the dangers of looking at solar eclipses without using a box with a pinhole in it. You might want to chat with pervyTHEshadow; IIRC, he's the one who's been working in Unreal and getting lost in the art of consummate rivets. EDIT: Beat me to it by mere minutes! Blerg!
