Vacuum arm or nothing. Special weapons are for sissies. I disagree. Special weapons are unique and more phun to use, and I seriously doubt that if the game just consisted of the Buster and the Vacuum arm, that it would be as enjoyable. The unique weapons in Legends are part of what makes it awesome.

I’d actually have to say the Vacuum Arm was my favorite. I just loved being able to collect items without having to nudge my fingers in more then one direction. So is the extent of my laziness.
But mostly, I just liked it because it made upgrading the interesting weapons quicker. Homing missiles have a lot of sentimental value to me. They got me through the first game, and a fair bit of the second. Shining laser was also fun, but the Drill Arm was my absolute favorite offense. It can take out most bosses in several seconds, and no minor enemy stands any chance against it. It took care of those evil Gorubeshus, and all you had to do is face a bunch of enemies, turn it on, and laugh as they run straight into the drill. Upgrades were cheap, energy was good, and it saved you the trouble of coming back to ruins later since you could explore everything without having to go back for the drill. There was also that nifty little shortcut in the Nino ruins. By far the best in my opinion.
The shield arm was definitely the most interesting though, if only for the fact that it was the only defensive weapon.
At least, I think it was the only defensive special weapon...

Shield Arm is only defensive for projectile type weapons though. Also, it has a very small offensive attribute. It can absorb a certain ammount of shots, then, if you're standing close enough to an enemy, let go of the button or whatever, and it'll do a little damage. Nothing major at all though. It's phun to watch, though, I'll give it that.

What shots does the Shield Arm absorb, I haven't tried it yet. The blade arm helped me immensely in very hard mode. To upgrade it I had to kill that big golden Miroc many, many times... Anyway, It makes beating Geetz easy, you don't even need your buster.

Shield Arm absorbs projectile shots, like stuff enemies shoot out. Not flames or gas - aka green flames - though. It's really kinda dumb when it comes to absorbing shots. It can absorb the yellow shots Sera shoots at you though - I actually can't dodge those on me own.

Anything the shield are can defend isn’t worth worrying about. Save, perhaps, those yellow blasts Sera loves so much, but those can be dodged with some practice. And if not, a good shining laser or homing missile attachment would suit you much better anyway, since that isn’t even an extremely damaging attack. Still an interesting weapon, but I would never use it in a serious match.
I really don’t know what people see in the blade arm. If I wanted a close-range powerhouse, I’d take the drill arm. But to each his own, I suppose.

That drill arm made quick work of Klaymoor in the Nino ruins, but are there really any other major instances where you can use the drill arm like that, to defeat a boss?

Yeah Dashe. I also used the drill arm to beat the toad reaverbot boss in under 5 seconds flat. Experiment alittle. And I still don't understand the shield arm. I'll try experimenting with it this weekend. Also, I for some reason love the machine buster. I used that weapon to beat the final form of Sera on very hard difficulty, and no I didn't have to continue at all. I'm pretty sure some of you, like me, mastered MML to the extreme and are waiting for another challenge for your skills. Also, master the move where you jump into a type of roll going to the exact right or left of the screen. When you do it, your temporarily invunerable.
Yo Buster Cannon, blue text rocks!

but that blue text is kinda hard to read on the blue background. Shield Arm can absorb projectile type weapons. Drill Arm is powerful on just about any enemy that you can get to stand still. Blade Arm, I believe, has a little more range, making it easier to use in some cases. and people have known about the invincible rolling thing for like ever...

I think the Hunter Seeker is neat and all but the lasers need more punch! I was hoping for more. Its cool though!

The Hunter Seeker is awsome because it lets you lock on to a person and damage them while you run so you won't get hit, and when its used up, the "thing" blows up giving more damage to the enemy. I love almost all the special weapons in MML and MML2 exept the Shining Laser because even if you have to go through crap to upgrade it, its still a cheese in my opinion( which is my opinion, so don't patronize me). I still love the machine buster over everything.

The Shining Laser is pretty over rated as it pretty much only exists as an easy way out of the last boss fight. You can't get it in either game until you get into the Main Gate/Elysium, iirc(don't recall which part required for it is in the Main Gate, but I'm pretty sure there is one). It's very powerful, but it really doesn't mean anything to someone trying to get through the game. Of course, you can't get the Hunter Seeker until you get to Kimotoma/get an S Liscence. But yeah, for such a pretty much useless weapon, Shining Laser is pretty over rated. Kinda phun to play around with, but then, a lotta the other weapons are a lot more interesting.

Hey, Pitch...
In MML1, none of the parts for the Shining Laser are found in the Main gate (The Drill Arm can be found, but not the Laser). In fact, only one of the 3 components (Weapons Plans) are found in the ruins. (Need the Drill Arm to get to it.) The X-Buster is obtained when you help Jim complete his Clubhouse and you give him the Action Man Comic. The Prism Crystal is snagged when you give the curator all the artifacts and talk to the girl in the green dress when you head back up to the exhibition hall.(Run downstairs, then come back up.)

Isn't one of the items needed for the Prism found in the Main Gate then? The Reaverbot Eye or something like that?
EDIT:
M'yup. Though I shpose you could get the jetskates, do that thing where you can sneak into the main gate, get the eye + drill, find all the parts, and all that whatnot. Probly some flaw in that though. And either way you'd have to get to the point where Jim 'n Co. have their clubhouse being set up.

My favorite weapon is the Homing Missile. I used it exclusively when I beat the game the first time. I upgraded it to the max.
