Being on a big Steven Universe kick and still trying to catch up on all of the episodes, I figure now would be a great time to start a conversation about the show! Are you watching? What do you like about the show or not like? Do you have a favorite character? Such questions! I'll start off with a thought I've had: I believe Peridot is going to continue to be a recurring character and may eventually come around and be an ally as the show continues. I'm only basing that a hunch, since it often happens with fan-favorite bad guys (like AshuraMan from the KinnikuMan manga and anime). I hope she does! Another reason I wanted to start this conversation: to show off the weird comic that I just finished the cover and first page for, over the course of this weekend! Please check that out using the below link and let me know what you think. Crystal Gems Play Monster Hunter

I hope Peridot becomes an ally as well, and I'm really liking all the character development Pearl's been having. I wish Amethyst would get some attention too. While the comic looks neat so far, you spelled Rebecca Sugar's name wrong! What I'd really like to see is Pearl as the main character in any of the newer Grand Theft Autos. That would be completely insane.

Additionally, as someone who enjoys the frequent Pearl freakouts, I would also enjoy seeing her surrounded by exploding cars and etc. Goodness knows the world of GTAV (only GTA I've played) could have used a touch of Pearl's trademark neatness and orderly behavior, though imagining Pearl and Trevor in one picture is close to impossible.

GTA Garnet would probably be really boring considering the future vision and all. Did you play Attack the Light? I managed to get Pearl to be the OP attacker. That was awesome.

Garnet could still pull her weight with the power of her excellent comedic timing. No, I haven't tried Attack the Light, although I read about it recently while reading the wiki. Would you recommend playing it? I could get it on my Samsung Galaxy 4. It looks pretty good!

Yeah, it's definitely worth what they're charging for it. It's a little on the easy side but I played it for a good seven hours straight. Pretty much the opposite of every THQ licensed platformer in the GCN/PS2 generation.

I honestly don't see Peridot becoming an ally, although the more they feature her the more I fall in love with her line delivery. That she still seems to be under the impression that 'Stevens' are a new species overrunning the Earth is hilarious.
Wondering how long Rebecca is going to be keeping Malachite's future in suspense. After the events of Chille Tid I figured it would have been only a matter of time before that odious fusion reared her ugly face. At the same time it is fun to read all of the 'Jasper Mom' comics–even if she's more likely to headbutt Steven than she is to hug him.

Well, I'm imagining we'll see Malachite again and resolve that plot whenever season 2 hits its official end. Judging by the length of season 1, that could be quite a while. Perhaps Peridot will not be an ally in the sense of always on the warp pad with the other gems, but maybe a cause will unite the two to fight together temporarily? I could see her in the role of "villain who's mistreated because she couldn't get the job done the first time." Assuming another wave of attackers hits, at some point.

With this show, you never know with characters like Peridot. Rebecca Sugar seems to like her character development, and "flat villain" just doesn't really fit too well with much of it. Something's gotta give.

So what was "Karen" about in Onion Friend, when Onion is showing off the G.A.L.S to him?

Karen sounds like the Gals equivalent of Dave Guy.

Click here for another new comic! Too wordy, I think; something to fix in future comics. Also, Dashe, I bought Attack The Light and have been playing it when I get a chance. It's a little like Paper Mario, which is fun, in the way that you time your taps with the stars to make combos. I like the scattered cartoon references here and there as well. I made the mistake of going into the gauntlet stage right after I finished the first area, but managed to get through it after realizing I could use Amethyst or Pearl's 4 cost to do more than 1 or 2 damage per attack. It still took quite a while though!

You can even skewer multiple enemies at once with Pearl's 4-star attack. I just used it for everything and probably broke the game. I'm enjoying Pearl in this comic but what is up with Amethyst and those semicolons?

Semi colons? You're going to have to explain that one to me!
Pearl's 4 cost is quickly becoming my go-to as well, just because it's a nice mid point of AoE and damage between 3 costs and 5 costs; powerful, but not a turn's worth of star points.

"Steven says that; choosing the right; weapon is super important; when you start this game" - Amethyst, first panel.
I really wish the full opening theme had a clean recording without people screaming over Garnet's lines to the point where it's completely unintelligible. My favorite song is Strong in the Real Way and this one has a good chunk of Pearl soloing. DeeDee Magno Hall did some pretty weird things musically in Do It For Her/Him, and that was pretty unfortunate.
