So sorry GhostCat! I never thought of transferring and I havn't been able to get my laptop until now. I am very very sorry because I know you could have got some backer rewards for that. I'll make it up to you if they ever make some Red Ash merch or something. :C

I had been very excited (and worried) about RED ASH during the whole campaign, and I'm relieved to know that bot the game and the anime will be seeing the light of day. I hope they'll open a Paypal option or something. I still want the extra goals, and the fan involvement like in the Mayor election (and the rewards! ). I don't care much about the extra difficult dungeon (mostly because I know I wouldn't be able to clear it ), but I like the idea of playable Tyger. I found interesting how he has knowledge about ancient languages and is an expert at piloting vehicles. But I got tired of reading all these negative comments about Comcept (which surely will continue now that Mighty No. 9's delay was officially confirmed), and I intend to stay away from the subject for a while. Seriously, I need a break from all this (and maybe even from Legends. So, if I end up vanishing from the forums for a while, this is probably the reason).

I was hoping that backing would pick up for Red Ash, though it didn't seem to be gaining any speed after reaching 50%. Not sure if people would've jumped in at the end, with any luck they will open some other payment method to unlock stretch goals as I definitely want to see a playable Tyger and Call/Gofer epilogue. Surely with the $515k from backers that would be enough to cover those goals if the same people re-pledged @.@
.-. tell me about it,seems like you are repeating yourself over and over as most of them don't take any factors into consideration and just criticize Comcept. Recently it seems the whole "they had 3 kickstarters, they just want money when they haven't brought out MN9" comment is becoming common. Clearly without sales from MN9 Comcept don't have the funds to cover new projects, not that hard to grasp.

Kickstarter is a very stressful thing even when it's autofunded twelve hours in. "Needed a miracle to succeed at all and got one at the last second" and "funded, but it was down to the wire" is insane enough without the internet complaining every step of the way. I'm glad this place seems impressively level-headed compared with others online, but if you need a break then by all means take one. Keeping on top of twitter and the kickstarter comments section was probably like a full-time job in itself.

scygoku, I agree that most of the negative comments are nonsense, don't take any factors into consideration, and just criticize Comcept for the sake of criticizing. And this is what I was talking about. It's exactly those nonsense comments repeated over and over that I can't stand reading anymore. Like other supporters, I kept trying to clear up the misconceptions by spreading good things as best as I could (even though I have no social networking skills at all and had known that my efforts wouldn't mean much). It was very sad to see our positive comments being washed away by so many negative ones. I got very excited about RED ASH and ended up spending too much of my energy trying to promote it, worrying, keeping up with KS comments, Twitter, project updates, and fan events like the caption contest here and GMOTM's "Rise From The Ashes" contest (I participated in both), all the while trying to tune the negativity out. Yeah, I don't blame you for being worn out. Kickstarter is a very stressful thing even when it's autofunded twelve hours in. "Needed a miracle to succeed at all and got one at the last second" and "funded, but it was down to the wire" is insane enough without the internet complaining every step of the way. It was the first Kickstarter that I tried to keep up with, too. I'm certainly not used to these things, and this probably makes it all even more stressful. I'm glad this place seems impressively level-headed compared with others online, Me too. but if you need a break then by all means take one. Keeping on top of twitter and the kickstarter comments section was probably like a full-time job in itself. Yes, it was. Now that the campaign is over, I can finally relax. If Comcept announces Paypal or something else, I hope to have recovered enough by then.

I hope they open up new payment options too. Not just for the extra content but so I can back them. I'm somewhere on the poor side of the slope, so most of my money ends up in rent. But I want to save up and throw in so I can say I did all I could. The kickstarter started when I was not going to be able to, so, this has sucked. lol
Also, without backer rewards, that jacket Beck's wearing better be ingame without a code. >__>

Recently it seems the whole "they had 3 kickstarters, they just want money when they haven't brought out MN9" comment is becoming common. Clearly without sales from MN9 Comcept don't have the funds to cover new projects, not that hard to grasp. I think there's some validity to this one. Personally, I felt like Comcept was moving a little too fast with their brand-building for MN9. I get that he wants to essentially rebuild Megaman, but a brand new series isn't going to have the same following that the original blue bomber had, certainly not before the first game's release. It's a business move to introduce RED ASH while the MN9 hype is still fresh ('striking while the iron is hot'), but I don't think it would have hurt to announce it sometime after MN9's release. Gives the game and IP some time to breathe, gives Comcept time to evaluate interest and gather some funds, and it gives the fans something to chew on.

Gives the game and IP some time to breathe, gives Comcept time to evaluate interest and gather some funds, and it gives the fans something to chew on. I think there is no doubt that Comcept screwed the pooch on this one. The problem comes, I think, from not having adapted to being, essentially, an indie developer. Inafune still acts as if a big publisher is behind him. All his tactics fit that. A lot of the things that has pissed everyone off occurs everyday in AAA development. The early franchising, starting the next project whilst the first is hardly out of diapers, the overall confidence. These people, through years of experience, have proven they can make a good game. A great game, even. But they have to drop big publisher tactics or they'll be eaten alive. The game will likely be great-but try telling that to regular Joe six-pack who feels like they're being ripped off. They need to learn patience. Level-headed folk like us will look to the end-product, of course, but the mob wants results riiiiight now. I mean, hell, people were giving that pre-pre-pre alpha thing shit when it's existence was made clear-it's just a little mock-up with placeholders. Devs do it all the time early on. (Look at God of War's early incarnations, it ain't pretty.) But it's not play-quality so people lose their minds. It's on them for not realizing all these things are standard practice and on Comcept for not adapting to their new role in the industry. I really hope this doesn't impact their transparency and interaction with the community. I love that aspect and it's a practice I'd like to see more and more.

You guys may have already seen that Red Ash The "AINMATION" ( ) has a Motion Gallery campaign going, which is essentially a Japanese Kickstarter. In fact, their campaign seems largely the same, with the same goal amount and same rewards, less the ones that already sold on Kickstarter (so if they said they were going to make 5 figures and backers pledged for 3, then the remaining 2 are available on MotionGallery). Seems like a good way to try and recoup extra cash while managing off the excess goods that they already made arrangements to produce. Motion Gallery campaigns can go a lot longer than Kickstarter ones, like this one is more than 2 months long, but this seems necessary because crowd funding projects there are less popular and progress much more slowly. So far Red Ash has 4 backers, which are actually called "collectors" by the site. The term confused me for a moment, but when I thought about it, I have to say I believe it to be more accurate. You're helping to ensure a thing you want gets made, and that you have immediate and guaranteed access to this product once it is produced, as well as the opportunity for other extra exclusive rewards that probably only mean anything to fellow collectors. "Backer" is a little too inundated with connotations of finance and investing, and it seems to me that backers often seem to confuse themselves with investors that are entitled to weigh in on business decisions and fire individuals or pull funding if they don't approve like a board of stockholders, when usually crowd funding is pursued so that the opposite is true--for the project's creators to be in control and not to have financiers breathing down one's neck and making orders. Not that it always happens, or that backers aren't entitled to voice discontent when presenters don't meet the standards for the project which they set forth. I do think Mighty Number 9 took this sort of "you answer to us!" mentality to new levels though. Perhaps this level of entitlement would be scaled back if they called them "donators", but that term just isn't exciting enough to get people's blood pumping and feel invested in something I suppose. Anyway Motion Gallery's rules are exactly like Kickstarter so if they don't make the goal the collectors aren't charged. I wonder if 4C and Comcept were always planning to do this, if it was part of the calculation for the extra minutes they added to make the initial $150,000 go from 5 minutes to 18. But perhaps they were always going to make an animation short regardless of Kickstarter's outcome, and just want to recoup some funds for it while simultaneously advertising. I don't really have a problem with that. If people want to support a project, shut up and take their zenny. To my personal disappointment, Red Ash the game is not making a crowdfunding return, so it looks like no rewards for us. A reboot would almost certainly be met with bad press, despite the number of people who said they wanted the kickstarter to "fail and start over later", and since the game is basically funded anyway I guess it's hardly necessary. But seeing as it did achieve over $500,000 which is more than most Kickstarters dream about raising, it feels disingenuous when I read how it's labeled as a disaster or a thing people clearly didn't want. I'd still give money towards playable Tyger and Call's construction company if they took to a Paypal campaign, for my physical copy and Gopher doll and art book, but I guess without a Kickstarter providing a foundation for reward systems, it does come off as rather amorphous what one is putting money towards. I guess it's just us collectors who've missed out this time.

I think in their best interest, it would be good to hold off on a second Red Ash crowdfunding attempt until after MN9. They garnered a lot of negative press because of it, and then the MN9 delay happened. They're basically swimming in a sea of trigger happy trolls and clickbait journalists. Their best move now would be to polish the heck out of a level or two, release it as a public demo, and kick final bug testing into high gear to get it out as early in 2016 as possible. After that, wait to see how its received and then bring up Red Ash again.
For now they have the money to start Red Ash development, so hopefully things will work out.

I've been losing faith in Mega Man fans quite a bit recently myself. MN9 is one bummer, the comic by Archie going on hiatus and seemingly only coming back as a reboot at best if not being gone altogether is another, wanting to edit Powered Up footage I did last year only to think about how some so-called fans have acted. Honestly, all of that combined this year has really put me off from the franchise at the moment.

Yeah the whole situation right now is far from ideal but I think once we see some more of the assets and details of Red Ash we will be very excited. I still am pretty ecstatic after thinking we were going to have another crisis here.
Theres alot of stuff to analyze right now. If you notice in one of the backer rewards images I posted there are a ton of familiar notreavers and a freaking notgustaff that Tyger rides! I would go done the line and talk about this stuff but im am currently confined to posting mobile.

Okay, yeah, now there's a place for the analysis to happen. Anyone keen on analyzing the content for the Red Ash game that we got so far, do it in the new thread. I also relabeled this one as "Kickstarter Discussion," so anything regarding the kickstarter and handling thereof can happen here, including other crowdfunding efforts that happen.

redashfancompany.tumblr.com/post/125130104910/red-ash-pleaTime to cull the list... I like Megaman Legends 3. I respect Red Ash. Both are well qualified to lead the next wave of Legends esque games. Whichever game succeedes in finally being made and released I will support - because what's at stake is the entirey of one mans vision, because what's at stake is the potential of another heartwarming story, what's at stake is the potential to prove by example how much fans of Legends, and all of Megaman are truly dedicated to bring him back. Those who are saying that they won't support Red Ash and are sitting on their hands waiting for Megaman Legends 3 ... you're the single-issue people who kept a company going and ran into the ground with lackluster sequelitis, it's spoiled-brat thinking. It's "all-or-nothing" thinking - and it's so stupid when so much is at stake that if you think that sitting out of the Red Ash Kickstarter campaign is an option, stop considering yourself a fan and another corporate conusming drone - just quit and buy another rehased game. It'd rather take a few small steps, even if it's buying The Misadventure of Tronne Bonne, a few small steps forward then another giant leap backward. Let's get real, people. We aren't the Shenmue fanbase, no where close. And we don't need any form of Legends, psuedo remake or not if we're going to let corporate dog eat dog tacts continue in this day and age. The farce is strong with this one. That's a pretty irritable sounding post considering just about everyone here is in favor of REDASH. I may be misreading the intent here, but I don't recall seeing anyone commenting negatively about the project for any sequelitis reasons... I've seen a few people hesitant to get excited about a game that's struggling to meet funding goals... and that's not a lack of support... that's more "I've been down this road, I don't want to marry another cancer patient yet." But I suppose this could just be a blind mass produced propaganda post intended to catch attention, without actually knowing the opinion of audience and venue beforehand. I realize this all must seem fairly accusatory, but I assure you I'm just sort of confused and trying to figure out why all the aggression? But I suppose this could just be a blind mass produced propaganda post intended to catch attention LOL, it was. I posted this way back when Red Ash was announced. Lol, I was basically doing whatever it took. Many peeps over on Facebook weren't supporting it. Lol
