Cool. Props for not defaulting to techno or rock! There hasn't been much music posted here in a long time, but back then it was pretty much all screaming guitars or chiptune or some combination of the two. It could use a little more bounce to it though, especially if the piano part's being played manually.

That's something I've noticed in every fandom I search for music arrangements to listen to. It could use a little more bounce to it though, especially if the piano part's being played manually. Yes, it was played manually. Hmm, now you gave me an idea. I'm thinking something "funny" and "cartoony" . I might try to see if I can pull it off. But then it'll be a completely different version.

I like the sound of that! It's not like we're talking about Flutter vs. Gesellschaft and its fifty zillion screaming guitar remakes either. You don't have to worry about overdoing any one song as long as you're not covering Flutter vs. Gesellschaft. That one should no longer be permitted to be an option for covering anymore unless it's something really, really out there. Like polka. I could handle polka Flutter vs. Gesellschaft.

Nice!
For me, the more interesting part of the theme is that the beginning sounds like an old Japanese festival song (it's only missing the big drums!), or the beginning of an on-stage act for old theater. Given their out-of-place Japanese props seen in-game, it seems comically appropriate!

I tried to apply the idea, but it didn't turn out quite like I had imagined. The result was a bit... Weird. At least it has another unusual instrument . marimbonnes01.ogg (OpenDrive) | marimbonnes01.mp3 (4shared)

I actually like the new one better. It reminds me of the ice slide music from Donkey Kong 64, and Marimbonnes is punny.

Oh, when I was trying to see if the sound made sense, I also thought of Donkey Kong! But the only Donkey Kong games I had played were for SNES.
This version sounded way weirder when played through the speakers that I use with my keyboard (the marimba was nearly annoying! *Imagines Teisel playing the marimba and laughing loudly*). But after I saved it to the computer, adjusted the volume and listened using headphones, it didn't sound that bad. Now that I've listened to it on the computer several times, I got used to it. I like the "bouncier" piano part better than the first one, and I'll be using it for something else. Thank you for the inspiration!

Update: violin time! Here are some attempts at playing the Bonnes' song, with both a virtual violin and a real one! ... Well, the real one isn't as good as I'd have liked, but anyway... To quote my blog post:
