I can already see the new guy being playable in a future game... As for the game, I'd love to buy it but the e-Shop doesn't work in my country.

Can't wait to hear his motives. Especially if the only parallel between Protoman's faulty power supply and Acura is that his heart goes ring-a-ding-ding around Gunvolt.

This game's been given a release date now. It will be coming out on the 29th this month for $15. I'm pretty excited to take on the Sumeragi Sinners or whatever they want to call themselves!

Azure Striker Gunvolt = Unreleased (but soon) Mighty No 9 = Unreleased Mighty No 9 Cartoon = Unreleased
"Well, lets make a cross over guys!"
I hate to be THAT guy but....as i've said before....SLOW DOWN. Finish your other projects and see their success rate first before throwing in NEW projects like this. Even if this is small, your pumping out things left and right before your other games and media are even released yet...
Granted this game looks alright, but thats literally all that I can say about it. Something for your purchase of Azure Striker Gunvolt if you don't mind some cut out dialogue from that game in the US release...

I'd be more inclined to start screaming "HIT THE BRAKES!" if it weren't free, or actually established ASG and MN9 as existing in the same universe. These 8-bit endeavors probably aren't too hard for a company like Inti, who's created god knows how many sidescrolling platformers involving jumping and shooting. If anything, it's like an incentive to try and get more ASG sales, which looking at the way Capcom's gone about trying to get people to buy real Mega Man games, clearly didn't work to their liking. Gunvolt's apparently on the eShop homepage over in Japan right now, so anyone who goes on the eShop's going to know these games exist even if they don't care so much for Mega Man.
This is the kind of aggressive ad campaign I can get behind. It keeps the two franchises canonically separate, gets people wondering about MN9 some more, and ought to increase exposure for ASG instead of just letting it rely on internet word of mouth and having Inticreates and Inafune sitting there crossing their fingers. The only thing that really matters to me is that all Mega Man expies stay separate from each other except for stuff like this, Project X Zone type stuff, or one of those crossover fighting games, should they ever decide to do something like that. It's hard to rake in money when you rely solely on word of mouth to get your advertising done so a publicity stunt like this is alright by me.

Oh, yeah. I was pretty much sold on getting ASG, but Mighty Gunvolt turned that game into OMFG I have to buy this ASAP!~! for me. I'm interested in how you use the shield as offense or defense sporadically and such.

So, I worked some magic and got a NNID to download this game with, it's pretty solid! I'm having a bit of trouble since it doesn't play like Mega Man games as far as blowing stuff goes though.

What I like the most about this game so far is that it allows you to replay stages to get better ranks on them instead of just giving you one shot like the Zero games did. Boss fights are fast and frantic, and to be honest, stages also are when you're trying to both speed run them and not get hit to keep your combo and score up. The soundtrack's great, the story... is there, but it's a fun game! I'm liking it a lot so far in the early going.

The story is just kind of there but the dialogue is good in my opinion, you can tell they had fun with it. Also, I'm not sure if the game's bigender baddie is progressive or not... but the line about plugs and sockets was golden.

I bought some eShop points so I could buy ASG for the only meatspace friend I have with a 3DS. Fingers crossed I can convince her to download it before the Mighty Gunvolt offer expires!

Good luck with that! If she's not very good at platformers maybe you can convince her the game is accessible for everyone, Gunvolt comes equipped with a pendant that let's him negate any damage he takes so long as he has electric charge and stands still, it's pretty much training wheels for those who aren't very good at platformers.

She's good at most games. I'm the one who'd probably need the training wheels.

I've not had as much time with this game as I would've liked to this point, but I've beaten five stages counting the intro one so far. It is very tricky to maintain a high score since you pretty much have to do a no-hit run to keep your combo up. I do like that your shield can prevent you from getting hit to keep the score going, even if it's at the cost of slowly auto-charging when it runs out. It gives you a little leeway in levels. So far, I could only do an S+ rank on the opening stage, but I bet I could get one in on the orange dude's level if given enough time since his attacks are pretty easy to read.
It's basically Mega Man Zero/ZX series continued with a different skin and setting. Hope it can hold up because if this were a Mega Man Zero/ZX game, this would probably be my favorite over ones like ZX Advent and Zero 3.

I'm sure we've all been pretty aware of this straight out of the starting gate, but according to this interview with Takeru Aizu, sales and fan demand are going to determine whether or not Gunvolt goes anywhere from here. How loud do you all think he wants us to be? I may not be able to affect the sales much, but being loud is something I'm pretty good at. My friend with the 3DS came over on Saturday and let me try the game for myself. Everyone said it was easy, but I died a lot even with the tag-n-zap maneuver that eats enemy health like there's no tomorrow. That level that filled up with water as you went along was a pain. I just kept drowning. I'm honestly surprised I made it through the intro level, but I really think Inticreates has mellowed out since the heinously hard Zero series days. If I had a means of owning the game, I could see myself actually progressing in it.
