GamesRepublic is offering a Real-Time Strategy title called Anomaly: Warzone Earth for free (typically $13 elsewhere). Registration is needed, but you get a DRM-free copy (along with a Steam key if you so desire).
EDIT 2015-08-30 - Humble Bundle is offering a Stealth Platformer title called Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones for free. Both a DRM-free copy and a Steam key is provided, as well as a few extras. Hopefully someone can bump the thread to call attention to this *cough Dashe cough* GOG is also offering The Elder Scrolls Arena and Daggerfall for free with the purchase of any Bethesda game, but this is not as significant because the full games have been officially available for many years here and here without purchase. It is worth noting, though, that Bethesda's IPs are now on GOG, including TES3 Morrowind, Doom, Quake, and the original Fallout trilogy (again)!

Man, GOG support for games is completely flip-floppy. Does anyone ever REALLY permanently withdraw support from GOG? Wait, don't answer that. You'll need the bump next time they give out a free thing!

Does anyone ever REALLY permanently withdraw support from GOG? There's about 20 games that were once buyable on GoG that are no longer there. There's a smaller number (I believe TOCA Race Driver 3 is the only one) where it's not only unbuyable, but those who have bought it can no longer re-download files (locally backed-up installers still function, however). Wait, don't answer that. You'll need the bump next time they give out a free thing! Oh sh...now you tell me. Uh...uhhh... Okay, the Humble Bundle offer is still live, and for those of you who don't mind using Steam: - Relic Hunters Zero, a very colourful Smash-TV-style action game is available from Nuuvem. Registration & Steam required.
- Particula, a Co-Op Tower Defense game; Dead Bits, an artsy FPS; and Overcast: Walden and the Werewolf, a horror game in the same vein as Amnesia, are available through Gaming Dragons as a 3-pack. Registration & Steam required.
- A beta test for Rainbow Six: Siege is being held by Ubisoft and nVidia. Registration required, and Ubisoft is known for their wacky DRM schemes.
That seems to be about it right now...

Relic Hunters Zero can also be claimed using the core Steam client. No third party services required.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent, the much-celebrated first-person horror game, is free on Steam until 1PM Eastern, Wednesday (about 15 hours from post time). Also, Pixel (Cave Story, Ikachan) has released a sequel to an unconnected demo of a game of his; Pink Heaven, a platformer, is the sequel to Kero Blaster's 'demo' Pink Hour. It's also available for free indefinitely.

Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 can be nabbed for free from Origin. News from the Amnesia team is how I found out. There's no estimated time on when the offer will expire, but I wouldn't wait to get it.

L'Abbaye des Morts and Spelunky Classic, both retro-flavoured Nintendo Hard platformers, are available for free on Humble Bundle. All that's needed is an email address. Skyborn, a steampunk RPG, has Steam keys being given away by PC Gamer. Also, Origin is giving away Theme Hospital if you live in France. Apparently. *shrug*

Hi-Rez, the current rights holders of the Siege series of games, have given them all away for free. Free as in freeware, not F2P. If you want to check out both the Tribes and Mech games in the series, now you can. Enjoy yourself. www.tribesuniverse.com/Interestingly, they even released Tribes: Aerial Assault for free... a PS2 game. Welp, time to try to mod my PS2.

48 hours ago, GOG released Bio Menace, an early 90s PC side scroller in the same vein as Commander Keen and Duke Nukem, for free. If you're hurting to receive some early presents, this could be your fix. Sadly, there was a Worms game discounted last week, and I missed it. Such is life.

Awesome. I was just missing the good old days when I was cursing my way through Duke Nukem II. It was almost like it was exactly a year ago!

Dashe, you cursed your way through Duke Nukem II? I only remember you and Ninja cursing your way through Duke Nukem 3D. Either way, sounds like you oughta do a live scream in January of this new one.

Unfortunately I don't have any free time anymore. :\ But yeah, I went through II last year. It involved a lot of French Celine Dion songs and a lot of swearing.

It should go without saying that there are a number of games (and indie films) on GOG regularly listed as Free, but that you need to "buy them" for them to be added to your account. The reason I say this is because it was announced that Dragonsphere is changing publishers and its price will jump up to $5.99 on January 1st if you haven't already claimed it on your account. If, for whatever reason, you aren't claiming all the freebies you can...now's the time to at least grab that one.
