Here's a video of Inafune thanking the backers for their initial goal. I think his laughter at the end signifies his take on the craziness of having reached the goal in so little time. Now I really wanna see a video from Capcom's side regarding this!

The only thing standing between us and victory at this point, would be those Crapcom pitbulls attempting to go for copyright charges. Doubt they could manage to win that, though. It's obvious that they've lost this struggle with Inafune over who has earned the fans' support here. Let the new legacy begin.

If I've learned anything, its never to doubt the legal system's ability to screw people over, no matter how morally outrageous it is to the public. As for whether Capcom will pursue it, that I can't say. Inafune is being quite clear on the fact that he bears no ill will toward Capcom... Capcom however, is a corporate entity, and thus has no concept of conscience; there is only calculation. It may be calculated that there is no legal action required... it may be calculated that Inafune must be stepped on. I don't know what variabled Capcpom uses in these calculations, nor the formulae in which they derive. In any case, I want to see Inafune-san succeed.

If Capcom tries to pull a lawsuit the chance of them winning is extremely slim. Way back in the day, Capcom tried to sue Data East for their game Fighter's History Dynamite because it was a lot like Street Fighter 2. Despite there being some striking similarities the lawsuit fell through since the game was still an original creation with original characters. Mighty No. 9 might look and play a lot like Megaman, but at the end of the day it's something fresh and Capcom doesn't really have the grounds to try to sue for that.

That might not stop them, though. So in the end they'd merely appear to be massive douchebags that are still trying to crush the hopes and dreams of Megaman fans. If they're smart enough, they won't dig their grave any deeper, and will instead learn from Inafune and Comcept.

Wow he got 1.5 million in no time. If I weren't a poor college stupid(student) I would definitely back him on it. Even though I've never been a fan of any mm 8-bit games I'd still like to see it made for Keiji.
I wouldn't be surprised if capcom sued, but since like you said it's still a seperate character so they would have a hard time winning anything from him if they did.

So this is an interesting thought.I'd say the list would go something like this: X (Last incarnation) Zero Volnutt BeckRock It's hard to say how strong Volnutt is, which could be a discussion on its own. His equipment is kind of worn out and duct-taped, and he doesn't fight quite as much as the others, but I get the impression his true abilities have been locked away. So I'm just tossing him in the middle.

The only thing about this project that I wish would stop, is this still constant fanboyism of some of the Megaman fans. As before, they were trolling Capcom on their Facebook page and forums because all those games got cancelled, Now, they're still trolling them while supporting Mighty No. 9. Spamming their AMERICAN Facebook page with the kickstarter, basically saying "haha! Suck my balls!" because they support it. Posting threads on Ask Capcom, saying "I will never buy another Capcom game again!" which is a bald face lie, because you and I both know that if Legends 3 were to ever come back, or if they make a new Classic or X game, people would be buying that by the truck load. Some are even saying "out with the old, in with the new!" about this. The immaturity drives me insane.
Now, in no way am I trying to downplay the terrible things Capcom has done over these past two years, or the justifiable rage fans feel about their various blunders. Everybody has every right to not like those decisions, and with some like Legends 3's cancellation, you're more than welcome to bare a grudge about it. But good lord, trolling them does not work! It never has, it isn't now, and it never will. All it gets you is some cheap likes from fellow Capcom haters who could not grasp proper English grammar if their lives depended upon it, (half of whom are only being negative because "anger am funny derrr!") corrected either by an informed person with common sense like me, or a Capcom-Unity mod, and eventually locked and banned rightfully from their forums. because acting like a disgruntled ex about it is not freakin' working.
I think that we should just peacefully support Mighty No. 9. Because Capcom seems to be pretending this all doesn't exist, Inafune definitely doesn't feel any real spite towards Capcom, the only people overreacting like this are the fans. I do however, hope that this can get Capcom to wake up and make some kind of Megaman game. In competition or not. I'll support both if they do.
The project rules. And the rest of the fanbase still rules. But this hysteria from the spazes is working me on my last nerve.

I honestly dont believe Volnutt is that strong, in comparison. atleast with his 'neo-post apocolyptic' weaponry made out of scraps. his abilities seem to be very similar to those of Beck's. But honestly there is no way to approve or disprove his power...lol. who knows maybe each reaverbot is as strong as a robot master, or more powerful. maybe a reaverbot is as strong as one of the Megamen; Fefnir, Phantom, etc...

We never see a reaverbot or Trigger blow up a reinforced building with a single shot. This is something that happens a few times in the X and Zero series. Most noably in my memory, X blows up the entire floor of the platform he's on to beat a retreat... with a buster shot. I don't think Rock ever does this, and Trigger's shots are mostly harmless. Fefnir's weaponry is constantly blowing things up...

Good thinking! i was just thinking mostly of a reaverbot like colossus. or uh, however its spelt. he seems strong. but yeah X series+ there was quite some destructive/teleporty people. lol

The Kickstarter announced some new goals a little while back. The Boss Rush one ($2 million) was reached today. It'll probably be awhile before the next one is reached. These things apparently slow down in the middle considerably only to pick up near the end. I'm rooting to hit that $3.1 million at last. I think that's doable... says the guy that has no money to give to this.

I think that's doable... says the guy that has no money to give to this. Usually kickstarters get about 1.66x to 3x their 'initial' pledges in the last few hours. The reason is that a lot of people are on the fence about pledging, and when the end comes, they sudden;y realize that their pledge could make a drastic difference. I also think a lot of people don't realize they don't actually have to pay if the goal is not met, and they abstain, thinking there's no reason to pay for something that won't happen. In any case, since the base goal was easily met, and the first million mark reached very quickly, 3.1M isn't unreasonable.

I finally pledged yesterday. I really wanted to give them $40 or 460, but money is super duper tight so I could only afford to give them $20. Whelp, every little bit helps anyway. That's all that counts.
