Hello again. I've been playing my copy of the Legends 1 PC Version a bit lately and I've come across a slight, but very annoying hold up. When I run the game, it recognizes my gamepad just fine, but if I move to another window and return to the game it completely loses its functionality and I have to return to keyboard mode. I was wondering if anyone was aware of any possible of solution. I realize that not many people likely own the PC Version, but perhaps someone a bit more tech savvy might have some idea as to what the problem might be. I thought about trying something like qjoypad, just for fun, but that doesn't seem to be available for Windows.

Hi there I dunno, when I fold/unfold the game again, my joypad worked properly. Try to do this few times. It works, at least for my version

I've had this problem on several different computers over the past few years.
Perhaps it's because I'm using a USB joypad.
Thanks

I'm using USB joypad, too. So it worked?

Nope.. I've been trying to get it to work for years. Just trying it a few more times didn't have any effect whatsoever. I was hoping the issue was about using a USB joypad because I could easily get a regular one, but I suppose not. I did find a qjoypad-like program for Windows. It doesn't work nearly as well, though, and I'd like to find a better solution.

Then why folding/unfolding helps me? Seriously, I just doing it few times and joypad works again! I don't think it's because of joypad, maybe it's just bad port to PC...

Wait now you're confusing me..
Well, first it could still be my joystick adapter. I'm using a PSX-to-USB adapter. I bought the PC version new years ago, and I always install it fully. The CD's still in great(though not perfect) shape, so I doubt that's the problem.
But second, are you saying that it doesn't work for you and then you unfold/fold (maximize/minimize?) it and it does?

Well, I pressing Alt+Tab to minimize, as you said. Then I pressing Alt+Tab again, and see that damn joystick doesn't work. Then minimize-maximize again and joystick works. It's dumb but true.

I tried that myself just now with no success. I managed to get JoyToKey working pretty well. I guess I can use that for now.. I wish I could find a better solution. >.<

Maybe my method is just too stupid to work well ^_^ You won't believe it, but once I played Midnight Club 2 my game always crashed in certain race. The solution was to turn on ArtMoney and then launch the game. I was shocked...

Ah well. After a bit of tweaking I've got JoyToKey working probably as close to perfectly as I'll be able to get it. I suppose I don't need to figure out how to get it working without that. If all else fails I can just load up my thumb drive with the program and use it whenever else I need to.
Unless somone happens to come along with the answer I guess we're done here.

I have the same problem, I used a USB controller too.

Download and setup the JoyToKey program. Use it to map your joypad keys to the keyboard equivalents in-game; that way it will work regardless of whether or not you move between windows. It seems to revert to Keyboard mode when you switch out. And JoyToKey turns Joypad presses into keystrokes, so it'll work fine. If you have a controller with analog sticks you gotta adjust the threshold some(50% did it for me), but other than that it works perfectly.
