I've also been contemplating what his Final Smash will be like. Hope it's not another projectile attack. Would be awesome if he summoned Mecha Dragon, but I guess that wouldn't make sense canonically. I have an idea. Remember the Super Adaptor? It allowed MegaMan to fuse with Rush in order to transform into the powerful, flying Super MegaMan!

My opinions on those are something I've thought about during the years of waiting for this moment. For alternate colours, I believe they might use schemes from characters like ProtoMan, Bass, etc. As for a Final Smash, I expect something such as the Rush Adapt, calling in the Light Numbers (maybe even also the Wily and Cossack Numbers) or possibly a berserk barrage of Weapons.

I don't know why I didn't think of that! He's got Rush with him anyway. Would be like Wario's transformation, but...er...not stinky. His normal shots would be more powerful, and he could shoot his arm around and have it home in on people and cause massive damage. Seeing other characters' colours would be pretty awesome. And it would be cool, if his Final Smash were calling in the Robot Masters, if he only called in one at a time, but it was always a random Robot Master. And it could affect the stage, like setting everything on fire, or filling the stage with water, or freezing everyone but Megaman. Dunno about the berserk barrage of weapons, though; he's already got a lot of projectiles as it is, so it would be nice to see him do something else.

Maybe he zips around on the Rush Jet? If it isn't already a normal attack, then it'd make for a decent Final Smash.

I, for one, would like to see the Rush Super Adapter as the Final Smash which also changes the charged shot to a homing rocket punch, as well as enhanced recovery jumps. On another note, I swear there would be MGSV spoilers if Snake's in this one again. Kojima's one cheeky director and producer.

I'm rooting for Old Snake to get in there.
...Though I haven't played more than 30 minutes of the entire series. XD I'm such a failure.

Meh. We all have failure moments. I've been playing Legends 2 ever since I got it last Christmas, had logged about 84 hours, and still have not fully upgraded all the Special Weapons yet.

I kind of don't want Snake in there if they aren't going to bother putting the MGS games on Nintendo's consoles. It was fine for Brawl and all, but I think he'd be a waste of a spot now.

Brawl's Snake was mostly Solid, but had a few Big Boss bits in there such as the part about eating Yoshi. If they're bringing back the CODEC easter egg again, the tough part would be finding a replacement for Colonel Campbell as his Japanese VA Aono Takeshi (Dr. Wily) passed away in April last year. Alternatively, they could use the Big Boss contacts with Zero, Para Medic, Sigint, Eva, and probably Slippy and Dr. Light at one point.

True. On the topic of getting VAs, Kojima would probably choose David Hayter for the English version on purpose, just to deliberately feed the theory that Solid Snake will be in MGSV.

Great as this is, i think that Barrett might have made a better choice for this game. Megan doesn't have all that much going for him as far as melee combat is involved. I personally believe that it wouldn't make sense for a Super Smash Bros. game to have a character from a cancelled game in its roster. Nobody outside of researchers will know the character. Not only that, but he would have a huge lack of moves. Though that would be irrelevant in comparison to the fact that the character doesn't exist in the official canon. Also, if Nintendo is going to get a Third Party character they will obviously go for the Main Character. They don't have enough space in the roster, time or budget for a dream team of everyone. @name Pending: no please no, lol. Seriously. No. That wouldn't make sense in any way, lol. He's not even a real character as it is. Barrett certainly would be a GOOD choice for a fighting crossover, though. And any way if they needed justification for melee moves they could just go to Marvel vs. Capcom for source material. Especially in a Game like Super Smash Bros. where there isn't requirement for that many moves anyway. It's not like it's Tekken or something, lol. Mega Man has enough Melee and short range moves in his arsenal to go full-melee-no-long-range-projectiles if they had wanted him to. Oh, no, of course, I wasn't actually thinking that they should have added Barrett, I was going more along the lines of the use of a practical character.

Okay, about the deal with MegaMan and a lack of Melee attacks, Masahiro Sakurai had stated that MegaMan's main form of attack is his MegaBuster, which is his replacement for a Melee Combo. To add to that, he already has enough close-ranged attacks to use. To name them all thus far, we have the Slash Claw and Flame Sword (Aerial Attacks) the Top Spin (Dash Attack) the Leaf Shield (Special Attack) and the Spark Shock and Flame Blast (Smash Attacks, Up and Down respectively). If that is not enough as is, I don't know what is. After all, the Blue Bomber has always relied more on ranged weaponry. Without it, he's just not the NES MegaMan we all have come to know and love.

^ Gonna have to agree with Bowen here. That's more than enough melee than he needs, and a Megaman wthout primary projectile attacks isn't a Megaman at all. Though, I often wish that same logic was used for Samus as well, since she has even less of a reason to use melee. Might be better if her charge shot was normal and you had to double-tap it to actually charge it or something...

^Which is why I never subscribed to that whole "In his games he only shoots so why should he punch herrre?" excuse. I have absolutely no problem with Mega Man brawling fist-to-fist with the rest of them. I mean, this style is fine, too, but I'd have no problem with having to press "Special" or "down-forward-punch" to fire a mega buster shot. It's been a long time since I've played the original, and that's the only one I've played, but it doesn't seem like any of the characters really play the way they do in their games.
BTW, does DK throw barrels in any of the smash bros. games? Is his down+attack a somersault? Does Mario simply have to jump on his opponents to damage them? Where is Fox's plane? Do Pikachu, Ness, and Pokemon Trainer have move selection menus? Can you control Wii Fit Trainer with a balance board/wii-mote gesturing? That'd be pretty cool...
