INTRODUCTION
TLT's 7th community Event is yet another MINI Event, this time focused around the design of everyday airships in the world of Legends! Airships are an important mode of transportation in Terra, and it doesn't really stand to reason that you scarcely encounter any outside of those used by main characters in the series. In TLT we want to considerably up the presence of airships, so you'll be seeing prominent buildings (like in the image above) designed with docks to accommodate them, and of course they'll be flying around overhead on occasion as an active "background" element. With increased airship presence comes the need for new designs, and we want to see what you can come up with! GUIDELINES
* Draw or describe an airship design that fits into the world of Legends. You can use the image above as a Legends-style guideline and source of inspiration. * You're free to be as creative as you like, but we'll be specifically looking for striking, yet flexible designs that we can swap colors and textures on to adapt to various purposes. Something like a special police force unit, or a heavily digger-personalized model isn't as likely to be chosen. * While many of these ships will simply be used to enhance the environment, there is a chance that some designs may be used in more prominent roles. * You may work solo or with a partner on a design, but please note that only the submitter of the design will receive prize credit should the design win. * You may submit up to five designs. This Event will be open to submissions from April 1st through April 20th, 2013.All entries should be posted here in this thread. We want them all in one place so entries sent to us by email, PM, or in comments directly on the TLT site will not be considered. Guest posting is enabled for the duration of this Event.WINNERS
* We'll be looking for around four (4) winning designs in this Event. * The winners will get their names in the credits and their airship designs will appear in the game. As for actual "prizes," see our updated page here. * Winning entries may be subject to revision before appearing in-game. * Designs will be judged by the project leaders, fAB & Blyka, based on a number of criteria. Go to it and most importantly, have fun!

What, no April Fool's prank? Laaaaaaaaame. Unless you count over two weeks of no updates as a prank. I missed the updates. I was going to send the updates a nice Hallmark card waxing sentimental about how much I missed them, but then you updated. What timing!
Anyway, having more prominent airships should be pretty nice. Count me in for this one.

My first design is the Deangler Flying Train. This ship was designed towards defense against pirates for safer travel. Some some rounder features it can fly faster then most ships but it awful at making turns. the ships can come with 'limo' effects where it can be purshased as a smaller 'one car' ship or a longer 'multicar ship'. it has a bizzare light post on top of the ship to usually throw off distance and positioning of the ship during night and the ship opens from the front where cargo and passengers can board, this part of the ship is denser and heavily shielded. i know im not the best ship drawer...haha, i think it got it across though.

Airship 1: Luxery Cruise Liner Description: This is a massive cruise ship for those that want to get away on vacations. The top deck contains an outdoor pool and a main floor deck It's mainly used for recreational purposes and the design is based off old cruise ships from thousands of years former. It's rumored to have inspired a ship that the rich Von Bluecher is working on. luxery cruise linerAirship 2: Air Racer Description: These small ships are perfect for the sport known as Skye Racing. These ships are small and agile. Numerous ones can be seen flying in the sky all at one time. This sport is really popular and can be really dangerous too. Spectators enjoy watching the ships zoom past. The ships themselves are just large enough for one person but produce more speed than traveling airships. Air RacerAirship 3: Personal Transport Description: These ships are a 2 level majesty for those that fly it solo or have a small family/group. The lower level contains enough storage area for a few large cargo containers or other storage needs. Some have been known to be modified with an armor bay and r&d equipment for diggers. The upper level contains the cockpit and a bathroom, kitchen, and living/bedroom. It's not the largest airship but it works for those that need it. Weapons include 2 mini cannons on top and small turrets on each side near the back. These ships also come with an escape unit in case the ship takes too much damage from an attack. PT 1 PT 2 PT 3Airship 4: Fire Patrol Description: What more can I say? This massive airship is designed to put out large fires. I honestly got inspiration from seeing the backpack fire extinguishers from the 2nd game. These ships contain all the necessary equipment for fire fighters to put out any type of blaze including on ships traveling in airspace. Fire Ship
Airship 5: Scaffold Description: This ship isn't too much in the way of inter island travel as it is for doing construction based jobs. The scaffold is considered by most to be a light weight airship. This little thing can hold up to 500 lbs max and can usually be seen when construction crews are working on massive buildings and lugging material around. As for size, it's about 8 feet wide, 14 feet long, and 3.5 feet deep excluding the siding. it has siding about 2 feet high in the front and 4 feet high near the back so materials don't fall out of the ship in transit. One feature this ship contains is an extending platform so that workers can get closer to the building. It doesn't provide any defense (ie Johhny's ship/ barge thing in Legends 2, the one in the collage up at the top of the page).

Hi guys! I'm new to the forums and while my drawing skills aren't the greatest, I've got a lot of passion for the Legends series and love the progress so far on TLT! My entry will be of a mercenary airship called: "The Reaver Cleaver".
The crew is made up of a small group of junk shop owners who sold their respective businesses and decided to band together when trouble hit their towns. They offer a specialty service (for an astronomical fee of course) to clean towns of aggressive reavorbot clusters. While they charge steep prices, they're not very good at negotiating and the group usually ends up working for food and just enough to get by.. They call themselves the " Junkshop Jackals", and while they are short-tempered and act tough, turns out they're not that brave when it comes to battle! Oh well at least their hearts are in the right places.. Their slogan is: " Say Goodbye to Those Pesky Red Eyes!" Onto the ship, the Reaver Cleaver was intended to look as intimidating as possible, in order to make up for its goofy and harmless crew. It's forward mounted wings are designed and painted to look like two cleaver blades. It's sleek and streamlined sort of like a hybrid between a zeppelin and a jet. Its most distinguishing feature is the exposed spherical cockpit which has been modeled after a red reaverbot eye. While the missile-launcher attachments and double mini-gun pivoting turret on the underbelly both seem like a challenge in battle, unfortunately they tend to malfunction quite often! Because of this, an unfriendly encounter with the Bonnes left them shipwrecked and now out of business! Since then the crew has had to sell off some of it's weapon systems in order to pay for meals. Hopefully they're able to make repairs before another crisis happens! They currently have no weapons to do their service, and bottom line they may need some assistance to get airborne again. Jaded, washed-up, and scrounging for zenny.. they vow to strike the Bonnes back if it's the last thing they ever do! Well that's my entry, plus you also get a " cutesy" backstory to the airship. Lastly here is my drawing below. Yep I spelled Reaver and Cleaver wrong, lol I was thinking too much about the ship and didn't pay attention to my spelling haha. That aside hope you like the Reaver Cleaver and its team of ragtag reavorbot exterminators!

airship 1the cruiser used for passenger transportation and cargo, heavily shielded, it has no weapon, but after all it's not defenseless, this big airship can carry up to 8 small fighter airships inside, without cargo the number increases to 16 as a transport airship it can carry up to 200 passengers and 30 tripulation airship 2small airship despite his size, it can carry up to 3 people inside of it, but that depends of how "they" are using this small ship, it can be used as a fighter airship when armed, and fully shielded, having the first level for a gunner. that second level can be found on the upper part and is for pilot only, first level can be used for transportantion of small stuff (booty, for example) or two people. Yes, it's not the most comfortable airship, but it's not designed for long travels. This ship works with 4 small motors, it uses only two on normal use, having the other two for emergency or higher speed, but in fighter mode it uses his 4 motors all the time. airship 3the whale it's a mid-sized airship, desinged for landing on every flat area, this includes water. The whale can carry things as the size of a car or even a Gustaff, but the number is reduced to only two. The second level can carry up to 16 passengers if used for passengers transportation, it can also be used as a diggers ship, having enough space for 3 people and a second transport (a car or a mech) airship 4the shark this ship was designed to be fast and maneuverable, but that depends of how it's used. the main body can carry a pilot and two gunners if armed, this ship can be modified as a transport ship with an implementation on the down part, for that reason it can be used as a transport unit or for piracy har har har!! well, every ship can be used for piracy if they are modified well enough hmmmmm, im still tuning some details so i'll be posting images later

hi, i'm new here and i also designed a ship:
the loading door can be removed to convert it to a simple person transporter or you could let a big gun come out of it or a car etc..same with the crane, you can replace it with a satellite bowl or a turret... let me know what you think!

Is it me, or is anybody else getting Flutter/Gesellschaft vibes from that design? Was this entry inspired by the designs of those two ships, Avallon?

The Lockton Commodore SE
Are you browsing the market for a mid-sized economy passenger airship with a classic vibe? It doesn't get much more classic than Lockton's Commodore Special Edition. Inspired by the small, seafaring yachts of days long past, this compact vehicle accommodates five and runs on top-of-the-line Holon technology and includes Lockton's signature backup power cell, compatible with most C-class refractors--as long as you're piloting a Lockton, you'll never have to worry about crash-landing again! The Winger LPV-96
If a versatile, top-of-the-line vehicle for a small crew is what you're after, look no further than Winger's LPV-96 model. This two-seater is a favorite among the mechanically-inclined, with plenty of room for customization. It even comes with dual universal weapon mounts if you remove the side paneling,* a retractable ladder that extends up to three meters for disembarking, and a fully-customizable dashboard, making the LPV-96 ideal for small digging teams and law enforcement. *Be sure to acquire and fill out the appropriate paperwork from your local government before attaching weapons to your vehicle. Weapons protocol varies by region, so do your research first!
The Symcotec Rocket
Anybody looking for a larger, high-end airship designed to turn heads would have to be insane to pass up Symcotec's latest offering. The Rocket is designed to hold roughly a dozen passengers at its maximum capacity and sports a deck (which could theoretically transport even more.) The compact, easy-to-maintain engine room is located conveniently close to the cockpit, so you could have a driver and mechanic down on the bridge and reserve the upper level and deck strictly for passengers, cargo, or what have you. Ideal for airship parties and joyriding. The Rocket boasts a retractable exit ramp from the upper deck that can hitch to any compatible landing platform. The Gallanton BorealisThis one's for your long-term travel and lodging needs. If you're a member of a larger family or digging team, you'll find everything you need to take your home to the skies full-time with the Borealis. This hefty airship boasts up to six bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a common area along with the standard airship fare--bridge, engine room, you know the drill here. Have I mentioned it has a two-level deck outside? That planking is 100% weather resistant. The engineers at Gallanton are all about giving their all and with the Borealis, it sure shows.

Unfortunately, I missed the museum exhibit mini-event. So I thought I'd submit a couple of sketches for this one! Sorry in advance for their messiness. The Kolibri:If you can't read my handwriting, here are the notes from top to bottom: "made to hold a couple people" "cockpit" "wings have 360° of motion" "landing/parking feet that retract in flight" Basically, my idea behind the Kolibri is a personal airship that can transport you and a buddy around the island, so this could easily be the MML-universe equivalent of a small car or motorbike. There's a lot of avian influence in this design, as you can tell by the retractable talon-like landing gear, the fluttering wings, and even the beak-like protrusion on the front (a radio antenna of sorts, perhaps?). ---- SegelyachtExactly what its name and look implies, this would be a MML-universe equivalent of a sort of yacht/luxury vehicle hybrid akin to a limousine. It's a simple design to me, not too flashy, but I'm sure there are plenty of wealthy island-dwellers around that would love to get their hands on one of these! Perfect for holding a cruise party amongst the clouds. Good luck to everyone!
