I recently got a copy of the first Mega Man Legends for the PC, and while the game itself runs great on my computer, certain sound effects seem to cut out, while others are fine. For example, both the Shining Laser and Jet Skates will give me about a second of sound, and then become silent. When I deactivate them, they give me another split-second of sound. Yet, with the Mega Buster, the sound effects from my shots always work -- Same with kicking, jumping, dodging, etc.
Here are my specs:
Windows 7 64-bit nVidia GeForce GTX 660M 2GB 12GB DDR3 RAM
Like I said, the game itself runs great. It's just the sound effects that are wonky. (I've also read about the music fading issue, which I have noticed, but this is obviously something completely different.) Any ideas? Thanks in advance... I'm new to the PC version of this game.

Awesome, I appreciate you looking into it for me! Yeah, I've been meaning to get an Avatar done, but I just got swamped with stuff the past day or two. Fixed that problem right now, though.
You want to know what's ironic? I actually sold a PS1 copy of the game to get the PC version -- I was swayed by the amazing 640x480 clarity, I suppose. (Well, that, and the fact that my PS1 copy was a Greatest Hits version, and I like having the original releases of stuff.)
Another thing I forgot to mention was that I converted my PS1 save to the PC, so I could load my data. I don't think that would have messed with the sound effects, but I guess it's worth mentioning.
Again, thanks for the reply!

Yeah, I realize what a mistake I made now. I'm probably going to just eBay the PC one -- it's in mint condition, minus the original big box -- and put the money toward a PS1 copy again. Usually, I'm careful about doing my research, but I really messed up this time. As far as the voices go, I haven't had any real issues outside of lines of spoken dialog running into each other if I skip through on-screen text really quickly. It's never outright cut out before.

You know, I've actually really been considering grabbing the 2-pack on the PSP. It kills me that it wasn't released outside of Japan -- it's not like Capcom needed to spend any time translating it -- but I've already played through both games, and I know the storyline, so I think I'd really enjoy the PSP versions. And thanks. I feel a bit better about having the PC version now -- At least it's something. I'm glad the PS1 version isn't TERRIBLY expensive, like the second game is, so I'll grab it again soon, I think.

Yeah, I guess that's true. I remember there were a bunch of games back in the day that Sony of America didn't want outside of Japan, either. I'm glad they seem to have gone the region free route, at least.

I remember when I first played Mega Man Legends... I thought it was going to be terrible, but then I couldn't stop playing it. A couple years ago, I just sat down and played it without stopping until I finished. I'd say "obsessed" is a good way to describe what this series can do to people, yes.
