They decided to go all-out and turn the launch into a short film to screen at cons and such, and the last I heard they wanted to premiere it at some giant Rockman party in Japan this June. I think. I'm pretty sure there's an update on it somewhere under all the Tuttle stuff.

Surely it's just part of a short film, right? Something that chronicles the whole Legends 3 fiasco. If not it seems pretty silly to base the whole film around the launch.

Hmm. I don't like it. Comes across as too pretentious for its own good. Anybody with a sense of pragmatism can tell that this video will only hinder things.

I suppose what Kyle says is true. It feels a bit...hack-y.
Regardless, still loving that my name shows up for half the music...and the fact that they labeled my Apple Market COVER, as a remix. Though, still glad to be apart of the movement in some way.
nb4, Any one notice how fAB totally outshines my Legends style music? When did that happen? XD
EDIT: Also, who ever mixed the audio for the video, mixed everything fairly low. Voices can barely be heard, both of my tracks and Mainfingers track are barely audible, while fABs sticks out like a sore thumb (not to mention how his track doubles in volume before it cuts out). Just noticing production issues that should've been addressed before the release of the video.

That'd be Jesse. IIRC, he was supposed to have a sound editor, but the sound editor wound up flaking or something and he had to do it himself. That's why it was so consistently delayed.
I really hope Jesse's lurking to and listen to the con-crit. Otherwise you're pretty much talking to yourself here. If you think what they're doing is detrimental, and you're not actively trying to pitch better ideas to them or even just tell them to their faces that it is, then you're not exactly helping, are you? Can you think of something better they can do that won't just involve shooting themselves in the foot, or would you rather wait for them to do something else you think is harmful to the cause so you can just say it's hurting them after it's been published all over again?

D'oh and I was just about to start a thread about it! Whelp, as long as it's up here for everyone to see. Which reminds me, now that GMOTM and MMLS have a partnership, maybe this Legends 3 Revival portion of MMLS should be updated more regularly. Just a little suggestion. Honestly, this is probably one of the best things we've done as a movement since that 100K Strong commercial Score and Hope did back when we were just starting. The video quality is top notch and so is the editing, our movement's premise was very well narrated, overall this is the kind of stuff you would see on the DOC channel or IFC. Just way shorter than most documentaries.

And I am thankful that this time, there weren't any trolls at all except for a few commenters. Most of the comments section was negative, but constructively so. Not all-out bashing our efforts.
It's great to have someone like Tony Ponce promoting our movement through majorly known gaming news sites.

I didn't see any pretentiousness, but it didn't really blow me away either. It was cool seeing Roll there and some other faces which I do not recognize, and the rocket launch looked really cool. I didn't really pay much attention to anything else. Honestly I don't think saying "I like it" on this forum isn't any more constructive than saying "I don't like it". imho. Sometimes people just want to speak their minds and say what they think, ya know? Everything doesn't have to have a point or serve a purpose, as much as we who are in support of whatever is being criticized would like to think that it should. I've heard of forums where people who regularly have contact with content creators pass on messages or tell them "hey, look at this thread about your thing and what do you think about what they are saying?" but I suppose that is merely a rare and lucky occurrence. I mean half the stuff we discuss here is pointless since I doubt everybody copy-pastes their comments to Capcom's inbox. There was that one time where I wrote an email to Nintendo about Mega Man in smash bros, though... and then THEMMNetwork posts a letter from the designer man himself that retorted the issues I raised in my email almost point-by-point, even using some of the same phrases and catch-words. Probably there isn't a connection, but it's nice to think that it actually got to somebody who matters... Anyway, off-topicness aside, I'm just glad to finally see the footage. I was entertained. It gave me a good feeling. I almost felt like I was there in person. It was almost as cool as Anamanaguchi's Endless Fantasy space pizza video. Hey, next time they should blast a servbot into space and put a camera on it to capture the footage. I wish I had known they were having audio mixing problems. I probably would have gladly dug my slightly faster computer out of storage to help out. I am no professional, but I at least know how to normalize.

I'm always trying to fight this forum's tendency to get overly jaded and cynical. We really ought to be supporting each other after getting shafted this badly, especially when posting anything about Legends 3 on other venues tends to net a chorus of people telling us to get over it. Plus I'm also pretty sure there are people feeling like they can't talk about Legends stuff in public out of fear that people are going to shut them down for liking Mega Man Legends or wanting some closure. And people feeling like they can't say anything about 100k here because they'll just get a bunch of people responding with complaints. That kind of stuff kills morale and activity if it's too prevalent. Anyway, Skybane went to CoA yesterday for another Monster Hunter event and actually showed Sven the rocket footage and gave him a physical copy of the concept album CD (which Greg is trying to steal, I've heard). Sven was actually really impressed by the craftsmanship on the rocket and said that he'd definitely show CoJ the subbed Japanese version of the film. I'm pretty sure this is the closest anybody's been able to get to the actual decision makers. I'm just concerned right now that they're not going to be able to top this. It looks like persistence is actually starting to make a difference, but persistence needs to be persistent and all. I wonder what would happen if Skybane were to show Sven a beta copy of TLT or ASH, if either of those were in beta.

I think there is a good bit of distance to cover between jaded and cynical and overly jaded and cynical, but I get your point. Me, I just talk about what I want to talk about (within the community rules, of course) and phooey to anyone who doesn't like it. *shrugs* I've never been one to give anything a pass just because it is what it is. If there is something good about it, I will mention it, but I'm not going to hold my tongue about things I feel can be improved if those things haven't been mentioned and seconded before. Unless it's just something I don't think is worth even being improved. It is all in love, at least on my side. Anyway, that sounds really awesome. I'm confident that they will be able to pull off even more outstanding feats in the future that will make the rocket and cocnept album look like jellyfish stew. There's so much more things out there that they can do. My only concern is that the eventual game will not live up to the hype. I still feel like there's a possibility that MML3 was just coming out to be a bad game and they did us a favor by squashing it. Just a possibility, mind you.

Yeah, there always is that possibility, but I crossed that line ages ago. I am now at the highly controversial point where they could put out something like MMBN4 and I'd still be okay with it because it'd mean I get to stop waiting for Legends 3.
And con-crit is definitely a good thing. I just wish I weren't the only common denominator between 100k and this place. I wish we could all work together to top this stunt. There's really nothing stopping us from thinking up ideas for them to do on our own and passing it along, either. As long as CoA stays available, any of us can create some big showy project like this and ship it off to Sky to give 'em, provided it's in good taste. The important thing is showing that there is a demand for a continuation of the Legends series, even if it sounds like a stupid idea. A bunch of us thought the rocket was a stupid idea, but it actually impressed Sven enough that he was willing to pass it on to the elusive Top Men. I mean, there's always a chance that it's because they generally had low expectations for our persistence, but an in's an in.

I don't like your pessimism, delicious steak. Imho, any attention is good attention. Especially when it's obvious to the decision makers that a lot of effort had to be put into generating said attention. I for my part agree that it was sappy but in a heartwarming way.
