Hello all, I've been wondering if anyone has ever attempted/completed a No Upgrade challenge for MegaMan Legends 1 or 2. A no upgrade challenge is a challenge where you play the game without the use of Buster Parts and upgrading Special Weapons (Special Weapons are permitted). Since we've all played Legends a million times, we know that there are instances where you have to use parts for Range, like Vs. the Gesselcraft and the Frog. These are times when Range Boosters are required and should be used. I've attempted this challenge I have to say that it's quite difficult and frustrating... ;X Probably because I'm playing on Hard Mode..., but the only times where the game really gave me a lot of trouble is where you have to protect the boat and the ship since Roll's HP gauge just diminishes quickly on Hard. I've just defeated the Gesselcraft scenario after many tries. Beat Tron with a spec of HP for Roll and no HP/Shield for MegaMan, quite lucky... I was just wondering if anyone else has attempted this quest before and if they have completed it. Thanx.

What about Life Gauge/Bionic Parts and Energy Canteens? Are those not fair game either?
I haven't done it without buster upgrading, but I did manage to get through the whole game with only the Flak jacket and I should warn you - if these armor boosters and such are off limits - Juno will SLAUGHTER you! He's really easy when you're well equipped, but by comparison his attacks are vicious.

Yea, no Bionic Parts, Armor, nor Energy Canteen lol.. I should have said that the Junk Store is off limits besides aquiring the Range Booster parts. Does Juno deplete your gauge with one attack without armor/bionic parts? Most of his attacks are easy to evade though, but I'm sure the error rate of evasion will be A LOT higher since it's Hard and probably have to shoot him like 20 times just so his gauge moves, lol.. ;X

Yeah, he's hard to bring down. Even the fully upgraded Shining Laser doesn't do it terribly fast.
Some of his attacks will knock out a huge portion of the life guage. I'm pretty sure those insane, hard-to-avoid lasers in his second form might be a one-shot kill. I don't really remember. Most of his attacks are easy enough to avoid, but it's still not easy to beat him. I mean, and I at least had the Flak Jacket, so figure damage by a 25% more margin. Might be looking at a lot of one shot kills.

My brother did that by accident when he was eight, only it was because he was too stupid to realize he had to go to the junk shop and talk to Roll once in a while, so even his special weapons sucked. He couldn't beat the Fokkerwolf, but he did get that far.
