Back in the day, where I didn't know of the existance of actual horror games, Legends was one of the scariest games I'd touched. It had plenty of scare tactics, and the enviroment of the ruins was definitely something to be feared. So, the question is simple, what was the creepiest/scariest moment in the first Legends game?
For me, it was the Hanmaru in one of the ruins. Not the intro boss, the one with two arms who suddenly starts chasing you out of nowhere on Ruins... B, I think? Anyways, the shock of exploring and suddenly hearing (and seeing) that thing chasing me in best Indiana Jones style really scared me... I remember not going into ruins for a loooong while after that.
Other than that, I also got scared at the famous Ruins... B, again, I think? Where you dash in with the Roller Skates through a wall and appear in an empty space where good navigation can get you early into the Main Gate. I got there by PURE ACCIDENT. And I didn't know which way to go... Also a creepy experience. XD

You know, when you weren't in the ruins it had a fun and colorful gameplay. Then you went underground, and it completely switched the tone of the game, you could die now, and the enemies scare you to death when you're weak at first.
I hated the Sharukurusu in the first ruin and the ones in the lake ruins that could turn invisible. If I fall to the ground where they are, It almost gives me a heart attack

Oh man, I also hated the Sharukurusu from those ruins. They made me jump out of my skin a few times before.

I really liked the part in the main gate, wandering the small corridors, and suddenly you see a Karamuna Bash dozing in the corner, with the last hole in the wall nearby. I Liked the tight quarters feel, especially with a large animal like reaverbot. It's just unfortunate that they end up running awkwardly against a wall sometimes.
Another good creepy moment was my first encounter with a Kurukuru, I don't recall seeing it and then suddenly the loud crashing sound! I expected another moment like the hanmaru doll crashing around the corner, but no its just a little charging guy. I still get tingly feelings on my neck when those guys sneak up on me. (Which you think would be hard for them given how loud their running is!)

Sharukurusu be FAR was the scariest thing for me. Either the one with invisible guys or the one where three were in the same room pretty much did me in. I wasn't a good gamer then though, so they were formidable opponents. I died a lot in the three-man room. The invisible guys terrified me at first, but then I realized I could just stand on the platforms and be fine.

UGH! >.< Even the sound of them running or jumping at you, or the "woosh" noise you hear when they materialize behind you made my hair stand on end, Lake Jyun was by far the scariest ruin I'd ever gone for a dig in. :06: IIRC, I'm not sure if it's just from hazy memory of if there was some kind of glitch happening in the game, but I swear I remember being on one of the platforms near a door around the outside of the room with the two Sharukurusu's, and I was fairly certain that they can only attack you when you're on the ground. However, somehow they would teleport right behind me where the doors were and it would frighten the living hell outta me >.<

Invisible Sharukurusus are THE scary thing in MML1, if I remember correctly, they are placed on the first step of the platforms, when you climb at the very top of a platform you'll hear they jump right to the floor, so it's safe on the top, unless one of them (or everyone) follows you to a platform, they will jump and scare you to death. I remember I once entered from the west side to get to the room where is a treasure chest, I jumped into the platform and apparently the sharukurusu was there, so I opened the treasure chest and then suddenly it attacked me from the back, it's fun to fight one of them in a small room.

The Sharukurusus were always a cheap scare, but one thing that frightened me as a kid playing this game is in the lake Jyun ruins, when you enter the hallway made of water with the Firushudots in it, I was looking at it thinking "oh how cool its like a giant aquariam", then I ran down a little and one jumped out on to me and started shooting its sonic wave, giving me a heart attack, I had no idea how to attack it and it killed me easily. I didn't play the game for a while after that cause it freaked me out so bad haha.

I wouldn't say anything in the game was really creepy for me. I would just get rush from being chased by a Sharukurusu ( invisible or visible versions ), getting jumped by Zakbons in those cramped twisting hallways and waking up a Karumuna Bash. More of a oh **** moment there. ;D

^ It's a glitch taht if you use the Rolelr skates on a certain wall you can phase trough it and get to a corridor which is initially blocked by a Drill Arm wall which links directly to the Main gate.
I see everyone loves the sharukurusu. But what it really scared me out was the Fishuroids at the Jake Jyyn. They came otu of nowhere with piercing strong attacks and with a lot of heatlth! I couldn't help but run trough them and get killed. Then all the times I pass trough that area I just ignore them and the doors and go straight to the Boss room.
Then again the only thing taht is really scary about legends 1 is... the eerie music at the ruins. It scares me all the time

Going through the wall into the main gate early in the game? How do you do that glitch? Now I'm wondering what it looks like after doing that.

Aside from the Invisible Sharukusus (sharukusus in general, actually), I got scared on Clozer Ruins due to the music. It really creeped me out when I first got there.

Crepiest moments: #3. Those Godzilla-lookin' dog reaverbots. #2. Invisible Sharkers #1. Megaman Juno's first line.
