This is my first post here. I was over at the SDA forums(A Speed Run wed site) asking people who still have the game to do a speed run for it. I got few "maybe"s so I realized that I should come here to the source. So I'm begging anybody who is able, do a speed run for Megaman Legends.

Yeah...I gather a speed run is playing through a game the fastest you can go (that means no secrets, no times for little stuff like building your zenny for upgrades and what not...even if you can skip the cutscenes, that's good) and taping it (recording to VHS or DVD if you've got it) so you can show the world. Screwing up (ie dying, missing something and needing to turn around and go get it) is not an option.
It sounds fun...there would be I'm sure many people willing to do it here...you're looking at a possibly 2-3 hour video even if ya go super fast through the game...
I'd like to see it too once it's done. It would be a great addition to MMLS...Legends Speed Runs...lol

Yeeesss!!!! Finaly someone answered. I had lost hope. LOL. Yeah a speed run is a quick play through a game. You can't use cheats(Gameshark or otherwise) and you can't use glitches in the game to make you teleport or something like that. I'm not sure of the rules completely so you'll have to go to this site: speeddemosarchive.com/You really don't have to worry to much about the rules, really, just play through the game as you normally would and you should be alright. Oh and while you there you should check out all the speed runs they have it sounds like kobun40 hasn't seen any. They can be pretty incredible. Please do it. I think it would earn The Legends series a little more respect.

Please do it. I think it would earn The Legends series a little more respect. ...or prove that people can get through the game in so little time, that it's obviously not a hard game, etc etc... I know I was really shocked when I found a speed run (somewhere else) for one of the original MegaMan games (I think it was III) and they did it in just under 30 minutes...

I remember hearing something about someone beating MegaMan 2 in about 11 minutes... I've tried a million times to do a Legends speed run. I just can't... I mean I'm sure I could, but I always end up doin all the extra stuff.... I have yet to play through the game, either game, in less than 10 hours. Which I know is really sad, but I'm never in a hurry to beat them, ya know? Also, don't you get something for beating the game in a certain amount of time...? Like you get the JetSkates when you start hard mode or something...?

Same here. Every time I played the game I took a very long time getting everything and maxing out the weapons. I'd actaully boast about having a play time close the 24 hrs.

Yeah, I lean towards the side of being a completism when it comes to games. Speed isn't something I'm very good at, at all. But maybe it's something I could work at. It sounds like an interesting idea.
Is there a requirement for which game mode you have to play? Like would it count if someone did it super fast on easy mode?

Roll.exe, thats your time? Is that the fastest it could be done?
It doesn't really matter what difficulty you do it in but its always better to do it on the highest difficulty because it'd be more impressive. And thats what a speed run is really about: impressive videos of someone beating the game really fast. So it goes with out saying that I'd be best if you do it with out getting hurt too much, if at all.
I never played The Missadventures of Tron Bonne. Is that game the kinda game you could play through fast, because if so it'd be great to see that too.

I beat MML1 in about 2.5 hours on normal, and hard, I kept messing up on the boat part and had to reload. Do you accept Emulator videos, if not, I can not help, I can post a time, but thats it.

No emulator runs are not allowed. Its too easy to mess with the game lie that.

My record time for legends 1 was like i think 49 or maybe 56 minutes. Not including the time i had to reset after getting my arse handed to me by juno because i went through too fast. This was all after i had been playing it nonstop for a month due to insomnia. my record time with 100% is like 4 hours something. insomnia is both a curse and a gift. XD

When you say 100% percent do you mean all the weapons maxed out cause I don't think thats needed to be considered a 100% run. If it is maxed out then you can shave those 4hrs down alot if you only make the weapons and not upgrade them.
For an any percent run a time under an hour is amazing, I think. You sure you got a time of 49-59 mins.? Either way you should try to do a speed run it sounds like you know the game really well.

Not all weapons maxed, but all weapons obtained, all items from ruins obtained, and ruins fully excavated. That's why it took so long. And my ultimate speed run would have been 49 min, but since i had to reset and get a lil stronger, it was 56 min. D*mn Juno. And ya, when you play the game non-stop over the time of about 1 month, you get to know it pretty good. Well, more like 2 weeks, then just every day i played it. SO kind of a month straight.
