Wikileaks was being attacked by the government and Julian Assange was in problems. Team Anonymous and others started attacking PayPal, banks and other stuff via hacking to help them. Team Anonymous believes in freedom of speech and justice, but they don't care about casualties and other innocents they attacked in their way to reach their justice.
People started to jailbreak the PS3. Sony thought it they did it to allow piracy. That was not the jailbreakers' true goal, but it would have been a side-effect. Thus Sony tried to capture them all. Team Anonymous attacked PSN, but then stopped after seeing it was not worth it.
The enters the Lulzsec team (The worst one of them all). They attacked PSN heavily and every other part of Sony's Entertainment Section. They continued to attack other parts then. The reason: "For the lulz".
The Lulzsec boat continued and they attacked Bethesda, Nintendo, Capcom (Before MML3 was cancelled), Square, Activision, Atlus and many other video games companies. Even Sega was attacked, by the Lulzsec boat denied attacking them because they apparently "love" Shenmue. I still don't know who attacked them.
Lulzsec started attacking the government. They took private details of the US's government, the hidden CIA Files data and even the USA Military's Security System password and files. They even took the account of passwords of accounts of an specific porn website from every member of the US government that was signed in it. They distributed those accounts freely.
Finally another team arrived. It was called TeamPoison and they were angry at Lulzsec. Apparently Lulzsec used hacking software made by others and TeamPoison was angry that they claimed it was their own work and that they did it for the lulz, thus destroying the "good"(?) reputation of hackers. Thus, they hacked Lulzsec and posted the Lulzsec's members' data, photos, ID, etc. Lulzsec was forced to escape.
But then Team Anonymous came back and started to hack again. They decided to hack the Chilean Government to disable their systems because they were using it to monitor what people posted to see their opinions about their president. (It was election time.) We had a similar problem and they said they would hack my country's system. They did.
Now Team Anonymous has said Facebook is selling our data. They have threatened to hack Facebook in November 5. These guys are not like Lulzsec, they truly have skill (With that I mean even MORE skill).
So far they have always done what they said they would.
I believe this is the start of the Internet War with Internet Terrorism. You might think: Why don't they hack them and capture them? The question is easy to answer: Doing that is hard. The main reasons is that they are TOO secure. Also, they don't have a leader. You normally cut the head of the team and the body dies later. However, they're a group where every member works on the same level. To eliminate it, they'd have to capture them all, literally.
They're just like terrorists because they have a philosophy for what they are doing. (Unlike Lulzsec) They believe in justice and in their philosophy, but they used drastic methods with many casualties. They're not even paid. They do this to follow their believes. I know these things (Soon in the Future the Facebook Hack) will hurt people and companies worldwide, but Team Anonymous won't care as long as they reach their finalized "Justice" Goal.
I know I left many other recent hacking events unwritten because I only wrote this from memory. Some hackers even have hacking contests, while others do it for their reasons.
You may think this is stupid. But guess what? The Internet is a very new world. Disputes are bound to happen in any new world with more than one person. When these disputes start, wars are bound to happen.
Some people say the Third World War will be a war for energy sources. I say that could be the Fourth World War, as the Third World War might probably start in the Internet. Please, no jokes. No denying without good arguments. I'm starting to believe that this might happen.
