I thought the Japanese DevRoom had been shut down at the start of the cancellation. Or at least, that's what I thought I read.

I thought the Japanese DevRoom had been shut down at the start of the cancellation. Or at least, that's what I thought I read. They can no longer post messages, but the contents are still readable. I assume that on August 19th, they are planning to delete it all.

Sounds like one of the more pointless gestures so far. With the project over, Servbot numbers are meaningless. It makes more sense approaching them from outside the system at this point. I'm conflicted. On the one hand, I agree with your thinking. Not much point in becoming a Servbot when Capcom's no longer looking for Servbots because the Project is cancelled. And amassing a crowd of Servbots now seems kiiiind of silly, seeing as Capcom was asking for this kind of showing ten months ago when they started this project. If I were Capcom, I'd be more annoyed that the fans finally started supporting the Project after it had been cancelled for lack of fan support. It just seems kind of silly, that the best “promotion” for the Devroom (if you could call it that), was to cancel the game. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Capcom just closes down Servbots signups, and tells the fans it's too little, too late. On the other hand, I disagree, because, well, how is any “outside the system” campaign different from that, really? Any logic I can come up with for discouraging people from joining the Devroom applies equally to a Facebook page. And I think actually joining the Devroom is far more meaningful than joining some random Facebook page, too. Facebook pages are pointless. They're a dime a dozen, on a very good day, and all kinds of random crap gets 100,000+ Likes pretty easily. By joining the Devroom, and coming to Capcom's doorstep to show support for the game, rather than bitching and whining and plotting elsewhere, I think we stand to make more of an impact. I honestly don't think it will affect anything either way, though. They've been pretty clear in expressing that the cancellation was final, from what we've been hearing. I'm thinking of it like this: if the ball game gets cancelled, do you have a better chance putting it back on by getting a bunch of fans to amass in an empty stadium? Or by tracking down the players at their homes and dragging them to the stadium to play for you? Not the best metaphor, but I think Capcom's only response to a Servbot population increase would be "too late, it's over, don't bother, we're not even looking at that any more." Going to the execs directly with appeals that look beyond the already-finished project seems like the wiser move to me.

To not outright 'kill' off the love of the fans, they could have gone with a more politically-hopeful "POSTPONED" or "ON HIATUS". Unless that was the point for all intents and purposes...?

It seems pretty obvious for me that they've intended for Legends 3 to stay cancelled.

It may not do anything in the long run, but we've now got over 10,000 Servbots in the western Devroom. I'm pretty sure that's more than Japan had when theirs closed. All in two days!

Before this campaign started, they were at 4500 or so. This increase to over 10K is incredible, Capcom needs to at least take notice.

I looked on the Devroom, (US of course,) we have reached over 10K Servbots! And judging by some of the 8K numbers, some of these new Servbots are from the Facebook group, so no matter what Screw Attack says, the plan might, and I think will work. Steadily, but it will.
