I knew it... Resident Evil... Truely is evil...
While doing undercover research into the reactions and intentions of rampaging Legends fans in Kongregate that are not registered here in MMLS, I've heard of the production of a new "Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City" in a chatroom that luckily lacked Legends fans at the moment.
My undercover alias is CommandoCamo, so that gave the impression that I wasn't a Legends fan in the chatrooms, as was intended as to not inform any rampaging fans of my research on the matter. Their riots have recently been considered as the main fuel for the "Legends 3 Cancelation Crisis" commonly mentioned in Kongregate.
Anyways, I've heard that RE:ORC had some "budget issues" some weeks ago. Then, they mentioned that it was a relief that only yesterday, Capcom "raised enough money to continue the production of RE:ORC".
Looks like a possible reason for the MML3 Project's cancellation... Was because of Resident Evil! Capcom's shifting the development funds from MML3 over to production of RE:ORC!!

It can't just be one exact reason. I think it's already been established that there were multiple factors going against it.

It makes sense considering Capcom finte funds comment today. One project scraped for more funding for a more popular one.

Both of you are absolutely right.
I'm currently doing more research on the matter, and I've gotten many responses, such as "Capcom's centered around Resident Evil, everyone knows that", and "Dude, nothing beats Resident Evil", and the very common "What the hell is Megaman Legends". It would seem that each person that I interviewed thus far say the same general ideas, but at the end of each interview, all have one saying in common... "Resident Evil never really ends, Camo."
When interviewing a room that actually had a single Legends fan in it, I asked him his opinion on the subject at hand. His response was rather profane, but I will write it in a revised quote since it could be useful to our cause. "Hmph... Never ends, huh? Is that Capcom's excuse for leaving Legends hanging on a cliff for the rest of eternity?"
I can see what this guy means, but I'm not sure whether to support this statement or not... Details of this guy's standing on the current situation are sketchy at best, since he was a strong Roleplayer, and didn't seem to ever break character... However, with this, I suppose it's safe to say that he's on our side... ...Perhaps...

Try and get as many RE supporters to sympathize as you can, Bowen. What if Capcom decided their series wasn't working well enough? What if it evolves into an IP that gets multiple releases per installment? Are there any who are dissatisfied with the way Capcom's been treating RE as of late? It's better to work together than to fight each other.

It's better to work together than to fight each other. Dashe, you are the ultimate winner, ever. I'm sick of hearing so many people going on "Fuck you Capcom, fuck you and your Marvel vs Capcom, Darkstalkers, so and so." While those titles might indeed have had an impact on Capcom's budget, they shouldn't be taking all of the blame. Not to mention, those franchises have also been subjected to some poor treatment as well, not just Legends 3. In short, Capcom has been making a mess of a lot of titles lately and doesn't seem all that willing to shape up and listen to what people have to say about them. So yes, I agree. We should work together instead of finding franchises to put the blame on, because each franchise still has a lot of fans going for them. I mean, I still like stuff like Street Fighter and Darkstalkers even after the cancellation.

Hmmm... Haven't thought of that before... ... Man... I'm worse than those rioting fans if I was really that shallow about the situation...
Alright! *salute* Right away, Miss Dashe! I will not let you down!

Oh don't feel bad. I mean, most of the rage had started right from the moment the game was cancelled and has since quieted down a bit since, it's only natural to feel that way.

Resident Evil fans are mad that ever since Resident Evil 4, the game has become more action oriented and less scary. Some are speculating that 6 will focus more on being scary, but who knows. Even then, RE:4 was a big hit, so tons of people enjoy the new style as well.
Also, Resident Evil: Outbreak, a spin-off series that featured online, has tremendous fan support. It's an old series, so the servers have been taken offline, which is why they're very eager for a sequel or a re-release. This movement is so popular that I've seen it top the Suggestion Box before.
With L4D, Dead Rising, and a bunch of additional zombie content for games like Borderlands and Red Dead Redemption, the market has been somewhat flooded with zombie games. People still seem to be buying them in droves though, so I don't know if interest in RE will wane anytime soon.
Also, I don't mean to rag on another game series, but Capcom's made the business side of their actions evident, and that certain game series must die or be silent in order for others to survive. They've made it clear that creating original IPs is a must for their business plan, so things like Asura's Wrath and Dragon's Dogma can't be dropped to help Legends, even if both of them have a chance to bomb.

Heck, Street Fighter fans were actually stuck in our shoes for the longest time, too, between 2 and 3, only they didn't get their sequel taken away. There might even be some sympathizers in their rankings, especially if there are people who only like playing the games casually instead of buying new versions all the time.

I'm sorry, Miss Dashe... Mission failed... Seems that so far, people on Kongregate don't "give a rat's ass about this shit". The internet can be a cruel place...
However, I've learned something from listening to them slander Megaman and/or Capcom in its entirety. "Most games die hard, Camo."
This much is true, but it also applies to other games as well. All we have to do is wait for a lesser game to die, and boom, you get more funds and maybe new fans. And I apologize if I'm unintentionally reverting back to being as shallow as my first post. It's a bad habit of mine to make self-sufficient strategies like these.
I suppose that's what you get for idolizing a Pirate. It just rubs off on you.

Huh, they don't care if they could be next? I know who I won't be helping out when their series is in trouble.

They should realize that they could be next. Resident Evil 5 was just not a fit to the previous releases.

I've GOT IT! I know what we should all do! Brace yourselves, this is one of those Phoenix Wright blow-your-mind statements.
Forget MML3.
I know what you're all thinking. "Has the summer sun fried Bowen's brain?! Whatever happened to his loyalty to Legends?!" The answer: "It's still here."
With our combined efforts, we will usher in a new chapter and new age in Legends! I'm talking about MMLO! Yes, "O"! As in ONLINE!
Details will be in my next thread!
Heh, idolizing a Pirate and cracking these kinds of self-sufficient schemes and plots on a daily basis sure can help in a pinch, am I right?

Dude, if hey won't make a completely single-player game, why would they make a MMO that will cost waaaay more and have to be constantly updated?
