Jeremy Parish, longtime fan of all things Mega Man, has recently revived his Retronauts feature on 1UP.com and (re)kicked it off with an article on Mega Man Legends, entitled "Halcyon Days: Mega Man Legends and the Lost Art of Sincerity". Honestly, I could explain the article about the article a bit (as The Mega Man Network and Protodude have), but I think the best thing to do would be to read it for yourself- I think you'll find you agree with many of his points, as they're very much sentiments that have been becoming more and more prominent in the overall fan community lately. So give it a fair read and see what you think. : )

I had read that article earlier and I must admit that it made me smile. I love the fact that he noticed the optimistic, carefree sense of wonder and the heart of the Legends game.

It's an excellent article. He sums up Legends best qualities well, and his criticism of the game is spot on. Legends is all about heart and soul, and spirit of adventure. Legends has so much heart that we have 600 people here that appreciate it, and 10,000 in the Devroom.

That was a great read. He really captured and explained the charm of Legends. Whenever I see praise for Legends, it makes me happy, so this article really gave me that heartwarming feeling. I haven’t seen everything he is comparing Legends to, so I can’t say anything about that.

I hope Jeremy Parish writes a scathing article about Capcom and this decision, because on Monday, July the 18th, they stabbed the heart and buried it forever.

This is exactly what I don´t understand about Crapcom decision, why cancel the game when a lot of people started writing good reviews about MML? (this one, Nintendo Power, that video series some site started)

Apparently killing zombies is far more interesting to them and their target audience, unfortunately. Resident Evil is getting a lot of attention this year.

The article was a good read a second time around. Maybe he will write one for MoTB and MML2 both games could use the exposure.

@avegodros: That would be great if he would do one for the other two video games. Many people don't seem to even know that were other two games in this series.
