I just checked the e-bay page; and the ad is now going for $11.95 and the Expedited Shipping is $3.00.
Then again, when you're a hardcore collector and you don't mind paying that much, why not?

To Rai: Like i said I'm not really a Cap fan so that info falls on deafened ears that don't really care about the comic anyways.
What I meant to say in full is: $8.99 for one sliver of paper torn from a whole pile of paper is stupid, gimme the book for that price or lower it.
And it seems the price hike to $11+ is making me feel this way even more.

tominator: Whoa, the title of that url there is a little...eyebrow-raising, maybe not in a good way. :23: I didn't know Capcom allowed that kind of merchandise to be made of MML.

It's the official strategy guide. Pretty sure that means Capcom allowed it. I believe that's actually the strategy guide Greg and Snow were using during their MML playthrough, which was originally handed to them by the author of said guide who is also currently working at CoA. Ridiculous prices for a completely intact strategy guide makes much more sense than for a removed ad page from an Onslaught/Heroes Reborn era Marvel comic. Much more expected and much less insulting.

@ Raijin: He means that the short-form of the URL made it look like they're selling Mega Man undergarments for ladies.
Comes in Kobun, Sera, Roll, Yuna, Tron, and Matilda sizes.

Ah, I didn't even notice that. I thought there was a hidden joke there I wasn't seeing.
Speaking of oversights, I finally went through my collection to find that damn ad. I was mistaken before about this being from the Liefeld era of Captain America. I was thinking "MML came out in 1997, so the ad would surely appear in that year", what I forgot was that MML came out in Japan in December of 1997, and then not in the US until August 1998. Thus I was a year early in my estimation. I finally found it in the issues cover-dated Oct 1998 (which went on sale in August), meaning the Captain America issue in question would have been Vol.3 #10 by Mark Waid and Andy Kubert, a much more esteemed combination. Though I've never read it myself, I'd at least be more confident in recommending it than its equivalent from the previous year (which regrettably, I have read for some reason).
By the way, if you're wondering why the dimensions of the ad scan posted earlier look thin, it's because Capcom apparently only paid for 2/3 of the page. The remaining portion on the left side consists of the rules for the 1998 Nabisco "Cool School Bus™" Sweepstakes, which had a full-page ad elsewhere in the issue.
Other notable ads found in the same month's issues: WWF SummerSlam, World Premear(sic) of A Disney Channel Original Movie "Brink!", Jersey Devil (Playstation Game that came out at the same time as MML), Tomba!(ditto), the Blade movie, and some contest tie-in with Banjo-Kazooie. All of which took up 1-2 whole pages, making Capcom look like cheapskates.

That's "SketchMan3". Capital S, capital M and the number 3. It's official (nicknames are ok, though)

If collectors want it for that much, who are we to deprive them (and ourselves)? lol

$9.99, eh? He's charging a dollar more now. Demand must be going up (the next sucker likely has to pay $10.99). And almost perfect condition! Only a few tear marks around where the page was cut from the book, I'm guessing.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I'm really hopping this isn't fake. I'm going to ask what magazine he got it from

Have you read the rest of this thread? It doesn't have to be fake. He's selling pieces of paper that are worth less than nothing. You can get the ad in any Marvel comic that's cover-dated Oct 1998, which you could get for less than $2 in any comic shop that carries back-issues.

Yeah, the only comic shop anywhere near where I live doesn't carry older stuff. I could have found a comic online that might have been cheaper but the extra $5 or so to me is worth being absolutely sure I'm getting the ad without having to spend the time to ask the seller if the "any Marvel comic that's cover-dated Oct 1998" I'm buying does in fact have THAT ad in it. Value is determined by supply and demand (for the most part ). When these were initially printed, people didn't want ads so the demand was negative and the supply was plenty so yes, it WAS worth a negative amount. Today the supply is much smaller (both by the fact that there are fewer of these comics and that they're more difficult to obtain in good condition) and there are people that actually DO want the ad (demand) so around $10 makes sense.
