This is just a personal prefference question but what does everyone usually go for with the buster gun? e.g.- I go for range power and energy. Also i'd like to know what everyones fav. special weapon is for MML.

Hmm. That's a tough one for me. I guess the Shining Laser and the hyper Shell. Maybe the Blade arm.

It depends on the situation. I've played the games so many times that I have a perfect buster combo for every part of the game. In MML1, I mostly go for Power, then Range. I try to get the best stat boosts for the most part, so buster parts that boost multiple stats are my pick of choice.
At the end of each game, I go for Power and Rapid. Energy and Range are next, and I treat them equally.

Yeah, nothing beats a good mix. Still, in my most recent plays through the game, I have taken a particular liking to Attack... As for special weapons... I like the Drill Arm. Gives you access to new places and there's just something cool about having a massive drill at your disposal. Battle-wise I know it's not that useful, but I've always been keen on using only the Mega Buster in all my Mega Man games whenever possible anyway.

Hah hah. The Drill arm is extremely useful in Nino. When you fight Klaymoore, just walk up to him and drill away. Dead in seconds.

Me and Teisel go strickly for range and power. Near the end of the game we go more moderation, but ALWAYS have the best power you can

I can't remember my favorite buster combo for Legends 1, but I remember the bust buster combo in Legends 2.
Power Raiser Omega Rapid Fire Omega Upgrade Pack Omega
You should have a maxed out Attack and a maxed out Rapid. Energy and Range are at +3.

I don't emphasize range, but rather Power and Energy; nothing beats a steady flow of shots.
For the special weapon, I either go with the Active Buster or the Shining Laser.

My favourite weapon would have to be the Shining Laser. It may take a lot of money to MAX out its stats, but it's worth it!!
And for the Buster Gun it depends on what I'm doing. In general I always MAX out power, and energy. And get range up as much as I can. I don't really do anything for rapid. But if I'm doing something like Balloon Fantasy I MAX out rapid and energy..I think. ;D

You DO know that the Rapid stat takes less to max out than the other stats, right? The maxed-out Rapid bar is half as long as the other 3.
Anyways, just pump a little into Rapid and you'll start seeing results right away.

I like to have a good balance of all four parameters. That way I don't lack anywhere. I did beat the first round of Sera on Super hard mode using maxed out Power, Rapid, and Energy though. Took me forever to save up the zenny for the parts.
Favorite special weapon: Vacuum Arm

I put attack high, then depending on situation, I'll adjust the others. Usually, Attack, Energy, Rapid, Range(<- in order of greatest priority to least). I fight a lot close combat, so Range is meaningless to me. I like to keep a powerful constant stream of shots, so, Energy's next, and I like that fast so Rapid comes after that.
Special Weapons... I use the Drill Arm and Blade Arm. Like I said, I prefer close combat.

I prefer mid-range combat. I especially love it when I get some good buster parts.

Im going to have to go with the blade arm since i think and since i beat this game all the legends series multiple times the laser makes things to easy so blade arm is a challenge plus its fun.

Oh, the Blade Arms a ton of phun! It's really cool in MegaMan Legends 2, though, because you don't just keep repeating the same swing, and you actually do a 3-hit combo, I think. It's pretty powerful too.
