*sigh* Well we knew that would happen, considering that they almost entirely ignored the two largely supported fan designs (one from Japan, one from the West). And no way was E. going to win it out with barely any redesign at all to it.
I dunno. I'm torn, because while parts of the outfit look more organic, which is good, the INSANE amount of new joints just looks ridiculous on someone who is supposed to be able to take the suit off and look human. What, does he have Medabot-style human arms and legs sitting in a trunk on the Flutter or something? Because I don't see elbows and such working in those massive mechanical joints.

Who gives a fuck? It looks great. :D
It's a game. Plus, bionics. Plus, aesthetics. Common sense can easily be overruled by any one of those things alone.

Actually, based on the way they have talked, he is in fact a Medabot-style human and changes his body out.

MegaMan looks ready to kick some ass. Seriously. He looks like he'd fcuk you up if you messed with him in that armor. ... maybe it's just his expression. :37: I like how they compromised a bit. The joints seem to come from Design E, although they ditched the two-colored-ness and went for a more solid gray. Which looks kind of nice. It's all the same fun as they were in Design E, but it looks a bit less busy in a single color. I'm not too crazy about his crotch, though. Armor or none, for some reason they just had to keep those odd... discs on his hips, and it just seems ...really excessive. I guess the crotch fixators must be thrilled though; you got more armor down there than you asked for! I'm really not sure what I think of it. I sneaked a peek at it while I was out earlier from my 3DS, and I thought it looked awesome, but looking at it now, I'm not too thrilled. It's armor. It looks pretty faithful to the original style. (Aside from the crotch which looks 10% odder than it already did.) Why the fuck did we have to go to all this trouble to arrive at this conclusion? At the end of the day I'm just happy all this nonsense is over with, really. (Until the next poll, at least.)

I think Mega's not interested having to suffer such humiliation, hence his expression. ;D NOt that such things would happen, but it would be a a odd WTF and funny moment to old school gamers.

Hah.
Rock: ... Roll? You did WHAT with my- Kobuns: CACTUS!
Edit: But seriously, I really like the direction the designs are taking; it's the 'rugged' style that appeals to me.

I'm happy with the new armor design, I like those joints.

I’m not too fond of the joints, but I’ll live. Otherwise the design seems fine. I like how his grey backpack has a spot of orange on it, the new helmet looks great, and Mega Man has protection for his junk…hurray!
But why is Mega Man so angry? I hope being stuck on the moon for so long hasn’t made him a bit bitter…haha. I don’t want Mega Man to always be walking around with that kind of facial expression.

The spot of orange is a Condition Lamp, possibly an extra feature to show his health status. As for the latter, maybe his new armor scrunches too tightly on his important bits, and is not too happy about that.

Well, I can't imagine otherwise- Having a wedgie is unpleasant, but having a metal wedgie would be torture..:24:

I'm so confused I'm happy with it, it's sorta new but still looks like Rock. Yeah, it looks pretty slick, like Mikey said, I'm just glad it's over, armor design discussions have began to ware on me.

Looks like the official translation is up on C-U. www.capcom-unity.com/devroom/blog/2011/06/10/mega_man_suit_design_decisive_round_resultsInteresting, it appears that Ishihara was unhappy about not getting able bring some "newness" to Triggers design (maybe this is why Trigger is depicted as so mad; didn't someone say that Ishihara seems to be the biggest supporter of design E) so he is going to change Barrett's design instead as the google-translate seemed to indicate.
