I don't know about you guys, but I personally did NOT like the voice of MegaMan in Legends 2, which makes me wary on how it will turn out in Legends 3. Sure, JRPG's and animes have made a habit of casting female voice actresses for the lead, young adult male roles and normally I wouldn't have a problem with this. But after the first Legends game established MegaMan as having a heavier adolescent voice, hearing him talk in the sequel with a more feminine voice just did not sound...natural.
So what direction do you think they'll go for his voice in the third installment? Also, do any of you have a good idea of who might be a good voice actor that would best match our blue hero? Hopefully, since this will be a fan-made game, they'll actually give us an option this time.:15:

Well, considering the reason Aero's voice actress for the English version wasn't a poll in the west was because of the way American voice actor contracts work, I don't think we'll get the opportunity to actually pick them. I'd like to see them go with another teenage boy like they did with Corey Sevier and get that authentic teen boy sound, instead of getting an adult woman (who'd probably sound too young) or an adult man (who'd probably sound too old, or at the very least quite jarring juxtaposed with the Legends 2 voice). I kind of doubt they'd do that, though. 10,000 Zenny says they just got Johnny Young Bosch.

It won't be a teen, that's for sure—New Generation Pictures doesn't have any of those guys, and we're now likely to get an "anime voice actor". I cringe at the thought, though it doesn't take much to be better at Volnutt than Susan Roman.

I liked the first voice, Corey Sevier, but then they used Suzan Roman which I also disagree with, and I couldn't stand when he talked. Corey Sevier Who I think was 14 at the time of legends 1 might be to old now, but another young voice actor would be nice to have again.

I've made Justin Bieber jokes before, but in all honesty, if they did get him, at least it'd sound more believable than Susan Roman did. I wonder how many Bieber fanatics would put down $252 plus tax to ensure the existence of a game featuring Justin Bieber? Ah, but then the female population would substantially increase and TronBonne, Steffie and I wouldn't be special anymore. Better stick with Rebecca Black.

I used to hate Mega Man's voice in the second game, but like most things I eventually got used to it, and I think I'm going to go as far as to say that I've grown to like it. It took me years to like it though. I don't think they should have made such a huge contrast between Corey's voice and hers, but she did...not a good job, but an ok job?
I would prefer it if they gave him a teenage voice in Legends 3, but all my anime watching has gotten me accustomed to hearing teenage boys being voiced by women.I kind of doubt they'd do that, though. 10,000 Zenny says they just got Johnny Young Bosch. Haha, good old JYB. While I love his voice, I don't want it to be JYB, Yuri Lowenthal, or Vic Mignogna. I don't know too much about the process they use for voice actors, or which companies have access to which actors, etc, but these guys are in almost everything and I don't think they suit Mega Man, even if they're good VA's. And if they chose to use a woman again, pleeease not Mona Marshall, I wouldn't be able to take it if Mega Man sounded like Izzy. xD

Ah, but then the female population would substantially increase and TronBonne, Steffie and I wouldn't be special anymore. But, if Justin Bieber voiced MegaMan and his fangirls found out; Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype AND the actual released game would become the best-selling video game of all time XD [and the male Mega Man Legends fan population would be a mere 0.1%] For me, Corey's voice had really suited MegaMan in the first game; as he actually sounded natural. While Susan Roman's acting wasn't bad, I just found that her voice was too high for MegaMan. For his voice actor for Legends 3, I would say that it must be someone from Ocean Group that knew how to do a voice of a teenage boy [and do it realistically]. I'm a bit stumped about who would be perfect for the role. BTW, was MegaMan voiced in the English version of Tatsunoko vs. CAPCOM? If so, who did his voice and were they good?

I don't think the battle cries in TvC were ever translated. To me, they're shouting things in Japanese and I have no clue what they're saying. Likewise, I too hope that the American VA for Volnutt in Legends 3 is someone we'll be proud of. I'm getting a little scared with all of the celebrity jokes.

It's not going to be someone from Ocean Group this time. They're going with New Generation (LA based) instead. Speaking of which, I will probably be very tempted to drop them a line if the final Mega Man voice sounds awkward. I doubt they'd just hire someone without an agent, but it'd still be really nice to get paid to sound like a boy and live in Pacific Time if they ever make another Legends game.

The only reason they changed Rock's voice action to Roman was because Sevier's voice had probably changed so much during his own puberty problems, so they needed to keep Rock sounding young. I don't see why people bitch about this, honestly!
As to be on topic, I think if we get a new Rock VA, it should be someone tolerable, like Haley Joel Osment. He's done Sora's voice in the Kingdom Hearts games, and age-wise he sounded perfect between the two. To my ears, at least, HJO would be a perfect step up for Rock's voice change, as he sounds like both MML's Rock's voices aged-up and merged together.*
*Take this with a grain of salt, o'course, as Your Mileage May Vary.

If they get a new voice actor for Rock Volnutt, I hope they get it right this time by not getting a teenager to play him. Their voices change. If Japan can get a woman to play a teenage boy who actually sounds like a teenage boy, so can we. I nominate Colleen Clinkenbeard.

I never knew Haley Joel Osment had done voice acting for a videogame before. I bet he really would be a perfect fit for Rock...if we lived in a perfect world that is. But I suppose I can agree with Cleveland. While a teenage guy in my opinion would fit best, I have to admit that there are some REALLY talented female VA's who I bet could actually pull off a realistic teen boy voice.
I'd have no problem with that just as long as they make him sound like a freaking dude! I'm sure that's all any of us ask.
(edit)- A perfect world would also have unicorns. They're pretty...

Haley Joel Osment is 23 now. He doesn't really sound like he did in Kingdom Hearts anymore, but if they could find someone else who sounds like he used to, that'd be great.

I had always thought that Megaman's voice in the first game was a little deep for someone who was shorter than his sister, and it was hilarious that they lightened his voice in the second game now that he's taller than her, but since it seemed so funny to me I never really complained. XD And I looked up Haley Joel Osment's older-person voice after reading the posts here and I agree that he would be good for the role. I only watch Artificial Intelligence for that kid....so cute.. Anyway, I'm hopeful that the officials will give our hero at least a satisfactory voice in Legends 3. I believe in you, Capcom!

I'm fairly certain that a number of folks have either suggested or insisted that Susan Roman should NOT do Trigger's voice a second time around... Assuming they greenlight this game, they take this into consideration and find someone who could pull off what Corey Servier did (unless they find him and he wants to reprise the role, again) and not do something overly high like Susan did. As for Osment, I kind of feel if he plays around with his older voice, he might be able to do something, but at the same time,I feel that his familiarity in other roles might compromise Trigger's personality a bit- it might come off as a little jarring to the older Legends fans as opposed to the new.. All we can really do is either speculate or wait, but either way, he probably wouldn't do as bad as Susan Roman, in any case...
