June 6, is it? More than enough time for me to replenish the costs for getting this little machine. I know I've got a few games and projects to work on to pass the time. I just hope the the prepaid cards come out a few days earlier (worst-case scenario is I use my debit card) to that by the time PV Day comes around, all I need to is visit the eshop and find that which we have waited for...

So, did anyone see the new video by Eguchi and Kitabayashi that's up on the MMN? It's the next one in that wacky show of thiers, but this one has them playing the prototype version! A few new details I noticed: - Return of the dodge-roll confirmed! Wonder how we'll pull it off this time.
- Sharkurushu's lunge attack is much faster this time around...and causes them to fall if you dodge their attack. : o
- Energy cubes now float up in the air after falling down from a defeated reaver instead of staying on the ground like refractors. Also, refractors now seem to have a slightly larger pickup range- you don't need to go right next to one to pick it up.
- From the view in the video it appears you no longer need to use the shoulder buttons to turn anymore. : P
- Ruins look much more grandiose this time around, but I'm not sure that necessarily means they'll be bigger in some way. At the very least the ground terrain is more varied, with platforms and ramps in hallways.
Other than that, there seems to be a new video from Tani Akira showing off...music? Sounds effects? It's a bit hard to tell at the moment. :06: Either way, go check it out if you can. : )

I still think those Sharukurusus look awful small. That or Barrett's exceptionally tall. He's about the same height as they are. I'm pretty sure even the small ones always stood a bit taller than MegaMan. (It's a bit hard to judge the scale based on the screenshots... :22:) More footage is cool, though. You noticed a lot more than I would have. I'm a bit disappointed if shoulder button turning (aka “tank controls”) isn't coming back. I was finally getting used to that myself. I imagine they should be able to include it anyways, unless they have something special in mind for the L+R buttons. The 3DS has enough buttons to mimic the PSP control scheme (which I thought worked brilliantly). Ah well. (Of course, you never needed to use the shoulder buttons to turn, anyway) Part of me wishes they'd stop showing the same missions over and over and over again. But another part of me hopes they don't show any more missions, so there will be some new stuff to see when we actually get to play this thing. I am conflicted. :06:

Ruin design really hasn't changed aside from more detail on the supporting structures, and maybe some more variation in elevation. Clozer Woods had a lot of elevation variation as well, and that was in the first game! —Also: there's hot-keying for special weapons, shown around 2:26 in the YT vid. A button got pressed off-screen that changed out his buster for his charge-shot special weapon, and Barrett wasted that Sharukurusu with it. Exciting stuff, as well as that great music. Note that the dodge-roll isn't just back—no, it's better, mainly because it's faster and it looks like you'll be spending less frames rolling out of the roll and, thus, get a welcome frame advantage that will be really useful in battle.
—Let's wait and see how it controls without shoulder buttons before boo-hooing. They might have figured out something that works. I'm miffed too, but I always figured there'd be a price to pay for a new game, made in an era well beyond the days of shoulder button turning in 3D action games.

It looked to me they had some troubles while moving, it seems the camera is a bit hard to handle, I imagine the controls will remain as in other action games, where the up directional pad (or analog stick or wherever it´s name is) turn the character facing to where the camera is pointing.

"From the view in the video it appears you no longer need to use the shoulder buttons to turn anymore. : P" This, I do not want. It's the best thing in these kind of games when it comes to controlling. I disagree. Turning and the camera angles in Legends really bugged me.

Coded was a mobile phone game. They're more limited by default.

Interesting to note that the eShop opening comes out just before E3 starts this year; the same event for which Capcom sent posters advertising the Prototype Version to press members attending the event... Was that ever confirmed, the posters being sent to press members, I mean? I remember reading about that, then I kept seeing said posters on ebay, so I finally cracked and ended up buying one for the hell of it. Now it's on my wall and I worship it.
About the controls...from that video, I couldnt' really tell if they were using the shoulder buttons to turn or not, since the camera was focused on the top screen, and you don't see what his index fingers were doing? I have terrible observation skills anyway, like I would have never picked up on all the things Blues posted about based on the vid. But anyway, I'm hoping they don't change how you turn. I never found it to be in issue in Legends...it's nowhere near difficult, complaints about the controls baffle me.
But I guess we'll just have to wait and see. It's possible they've come up with a better control scheme. I won't be happy but I'll get used to it, I always do.

Coded was a mobile phone game. They're more limited by default. Do you EVER read posts? I'm talking about RE:Coded, a remake of the mobile game. For the DS. Using the other DS KH game's engine. EDIT: okay, that came out a little harsher than i expected... but you get the point, we're talking about different games. 1. Lord, and I thought I get ticked off easily. 2. I am not very well aware of KH. So yes, I thought you were talking about the Mobile Phone version. But seriously, chill the frick down.

Advanced yes, but still not quite as powerful as consoles and true handhelds. There would still be limitations, obviously.

[/li][li]From the view in the video it appears you no longer need to use the shoulder buttons to turn anymore. : P[/quote]I'm just wondering, how exactly did you figure this one? From the view in the video, the shoulder buttons weren't exactly shown at all, and it doesn't look like he was controlling the camera with the D-Pad or the touch screen either. Personally, the gameplay still gives me the impression that he's using the shoulder buttons to turn the camera left/right.

TronBonne: Re: Posters- Looking at the news post again, Protodude seems to have left the post at 'unconfirmed'. Yet, at the same time there aren't too many posters on eBay, so it's possible. At the least the game seems to be being promoted by someone, so... Re: Shoulder Buttons: (/ HalcyonDays) The camera never stays exactly focused on the screen; sometimes it shakes and shows more of the sides of the unit. When it does, in some parts of the video you can see the player's hands moving from their position; you don't see their fingers stay consistently near the shoulder buttons when it does so. Also, something new I noticed: apparently Barrett's gatling special weapon has a recoil effect when it fires a shot.
