—So? He's been out of the loop for so long anyhow. I'd be more concerned over getting Pakistan and the natives on the side of the West before truly going to town.

It's more the figurehead nature of him that's important. He was sort of a paragon of "haha, you can't get him, which means you can't get us". And now he is most assuredly "gotten".
Does it matter a ton? Not really. But it's going to really jerk around the morale of a lot of the foot soldier jihadists out there.
I'm more curious about what the aftermath of us stepping all over Pakistan's toes and face to do it will be - nobody informed them that we were sending in a team to hit Osama until after it was done, and he was in a compound in a highly populated area.

No, he was in a mansion, and it was just a firefight, not large explosions.

Well it was on morning announcements for today at my school, so I should probably mention something about it. Apparently it was pretty bold of him to be posting pictures and youtube videos and encouraging more attacks on the US. Hiding out for a decade in a mansion as well? Bold and crazy. I guess you could say he got what was coming to him, but sometimes I feel that death is just too sweet for some people. I do have a cold-hearted side at times, eh? Time to go turn on the weather channel and watch for tornados!

My mafioso background's kicking in...I'm not entirely sure all the raucous publicized celebration's wise on the US's part. It's nice to have the country unified, but I'd wish they'd exercise more dignity and caution. The remainder of Al-Quaeda's more likely than not watching the reactions to Bin Laden's death, and it's put them in a position to retaliate--I'm not sure what they've got, but seeing hoards of Americans practically singing 'Ding Dong the Witch is Dead' could, for all we know, just summon up the Wicked Witch of the West, irate as hell that someone's gone and dropped a house on her sister. :01:

I think this story would have been a bit more exciting if it were reported between 7 and 10 years ago. After a certain point, it's good that they finally reached that goal of catching the guy, but it doesn't seem like a win very worthy of celebration.
As for the possibility of this shaking the hornet's nest -- Big deal. Extremist terrorists don't need much provocation. They were going to try something one way or the other. America would be better off worrying less about an attack coming their way and concentrate on ways to stop it when it comes.

Mainly because I find it difficult to believe that Pakistan, our confirmed ally, claimed to have known nothing of Bin Laden's whereabouts and denied any and all affairs with al-Qaeda, yet the guy was found just a short drive away from the nation's capital, Islamabad.
