Where are the rules of MMLS posted? They're here, in the 'Rules and Guidelines' thread, in the 'Rules & Introductions' subboard. Where can I participate in a forum game? Most the forum games, from good to bad to downright ugly, are located in the Forum Games section of the General Discussion subforum; There are also a few "games", of sorts, in the Mumbo Jumbo section (also under General Discussion); You can find free-form narrative-style RPGs in the Role Playing subforum; And finally there are, at random intervals, special contest and events put on by the staff (especially around the winter holidays). These can be located just about anywhere, so keep an eye out and an ear open. Where can I post an introduction thread? You can post here, in the 'Rules & Introductions' subforum. Each new member is encouraged to have their own thread. Where can I post my artistic creations? You can post here, in the 'Fan Stuff' subboard. Remember to pick the appropriate subsubboard to post your creations in (Visual art goes in 'Fan Artwork', Fanon goes in 'Fan Fiction', etc...). Where can I post spam? You cannot. If you do, you run the risk of being warned and/or banned from MMLS. Where can I report spam? There is a [Report] link under every post - click this link and add a reason/description to help explain the issue. A moderator will note it (and possibly alter it if need be) as soon as possible. Under no circumstances, though, should you post only to point out SPAM - this is a notable offense and you may receive a mark against your account.

How do I change my avatar?Access your profile (see 'How do I change my profile?') Look for 'Avatar URL' and enter the image URL there. Alternatively, you can select one of the complementary avatars provided free-of-charge by MMLS by go to the drop down box just above the avatar URL box, and selecting one of the avatars there. Please note avatars cannot be larger than 100px by 100px, and cannot be larger than 50KiB. Also, all mature content in avatars is strongly forbidden. How do I change my password?Access your profile (see 'How do I change my profile?') Look for 'Password'. Enter a new password in there, and then enter it again in the next box ('Password (again)'). How do I change my profile / my account settings?Look for a button similar to this... or ...in the button bar at the top of the page. Click it, and then click 'Modify Profile' on the page that comes up. With any change of your profile, you will need to hit the 'Modify Profile' button at the bottom of the options page to confirm changes. With the exception of changing password, you will not need to input your password to commit changes (if it claims there's an error, please make sure none of the password fields have been automatically filled by your browser). How do I change my signature?Access your profile (see 'How do I change my profile?') Look for 'Signature'. This box works similar to a normal post, however, you are limited to 400 characters (this is supposedly a technical limit as part of Proboards; there is little we can do about this). Please note, the combined total of images in your signature must be under 500px by 150px and must not exceed 50KiB. Also, any mature content in signatures (image or text) is forbidden. How do I change text formatting?(Bold) Insert this: [b]TEXT HERE[/b] (Italics) Insert this: [i]TEXT HERE[/i] (Subscript) Insert this: [sub]TEXT HERE[/sub] (Superscript) Insert this: [sup]TEXT HERE[/sup] (Underline) Insert this: [u]TEXT HERE[/u] These can be used in combination. Example... [b][i][u]TEXT HERE[/u][/i][/b] ...is the code for bolded, italicized, and underlined text. There is also... (Preformated) Insert this: [pre]TEXT HERE[/pre] ...which allows unstylized monospace text. The benefit is in its ability to show multiple successive spaces, allowing for various text-based tables and text art. How do I change text font?Insert this: [font=FONTNAME]TEXT HERE[/font] Try to stick to very common fonts, such as 'Arial', 'Courier New', 'Comic Sans MS', and 'Verdana'. How do I change text justification?(Left Justification) Insert this: [left]TEXT HERE[/left] (Center Justification) Insert this: [center]TEXT HERE[/center] (Right Justification) Insert this: [right]TEXT HERE[/right] How do I change text size?Insert this: [size=X]TEXT HERE[/size] Replace X with one of the following: 1=Small, 2=Normal, 3=Large, 4=Very Large. Text above '4' is typically unnecessary, and excessive use is discouraged. How do I change the forum colours / forum skin?Access your profile (See 'How do I change my profile?'). Look for 'Select Skin' (near the bottom). The default skin is 'V4 Classic', but we also offer 'V3 Sterile' (Light Blue, features the Feldynaught), 'V2 Mechanical' (Black, features Yuna), or 'Main Gate' (Black & Purple). How do I delete one of my posts?Deleting posts is discouraged. However, if you still want to, look for a button similar to this... or ...in the top-right corner of your post. Click it, and confirm you do indeed want to delete your post. Note: Deleted posts cannot be recovered. How do I edit my posts?Look for a button similar to this... or ...in the top-right corner of your post. Click it. How do I insert a bulleted list?Insert this: [ul][li]FIRST ITEM [/li][li]SECOND ITEM [/li][li]THIRD ITEM [/li][/ul] You can add or remove as many item lines (the ones starting with the asterisks) as you need. How do I insert an email address / email link?Insert this: [email]EMAIL ADDRESS HERE[/email] Warning: Posting your email address on publicly viewable forums may result in unwanted spam. How do I insert an FTP link?Insert this: [ftp]FTP LINK HERE[/ftp] Dependant on the server settings, you may need to add a username, password, and a port number to the link. Don't post private usernames/passwords to private servers, as you may get unwanted traffic or worse. How do I insert a horizontal rule?Insert this: [hr] How do I insert a hyperlink?Insert this: [url=INSERT LINK URL HERE]INSERT LINK TEXT HERE[/url] How do I insert a hyperlink to a specific post on MMLS?Find the post you want to link to, and click 'Link To Post'. The URL in your browser's address bar should then change to the URL to link to that specific post. How do I insert an image?Insert this: [img]INSERT IMAGE URL HERE[/img] You may only insert JPG, GIF, and PNG files. All other types (including MNG, SWF, & TIFF) will be removed. Please consider those on dialup modems, and use thumbnails for larger images (>50KiB). Also, posting mature content is forbidden. Please note, many image hosters provide both preconstructed codes for HTML and forums, as well as straight URLs to the images. Use the clean URLs - the preconstructed code will not work in our image code, and often contains code linking back to the hoster site, which is a waste of character space, especially in signatures. How do I insert an image thumbnail? Many image providers have gallery modes on their websites which auto-generate thumbnails based on uploaded images. These can be used in combination with link code to create a small, fast-loading gallery in a post. Most thumbnails are stored at a URL very similar to the full image, and only a slight alteration is needed to access it. The following bulleted list shows these URL changing 'rules' to get a thumbnail. Please note: All example URLs do not, or are not intended to, function. Finally: See "How do I insert an image that is a hyperlink?" for 'real-world' application. How do I insert an image that is a hyperlink?Insert this: [url=INSERT LINK URL HERE][img]INSERT IMAGE URL HERE[/img][/url] If you're making a thumbnailed image: [url=INSERT FULL IMAGE URL HERE][img]INSERT THUMB IMAGE URL HERE[/img][/url] . This is the same code, simply labeled differently. How do I insert a table?Note: Table coding might be a little complex for the beginner. Table coding isn't as customizable as HTML tables, so using these for anything other than say, scoreboards, might be frusterating. Each new table is created with a 'TABLE' command. Each new line is created with a 'TR' command. Each new cell in a row is created with 'TD' command. So, for example, this... [table][tr][td]CELL A1 TEXT[/td][td]CELL A2 TEXT[/td][/tr] [tr][td]CELL B1 TEXT[/td][td]CELL B2 TEXT[/td][/tr][/table] ...would produce a 2 by 2 table. Experiment with this so you can get the results you want. How do I insert a quote? You can either click the 'Quote' button of the post you want to quote, or insert this: [quote]INSERT QUOTE TEXT HERE[/quote] How do I insert HTML, Javascript, or PHP?You cannot. You are limited to BBCode, or Bulletin Board Code. How do I spell check my posts? There's a spell check button conviently near the post button, on the new post/modify post screen.
