Copyright is a screwy, screwy thing; if they can't secure the rights to every single little thing used in the game, they can't re-release it as is.. It could be just about anything to do with the game. That's what happens when you wait so long to re-release something. (∗ hugs PSP DASH ports <3∗ ) I'd really doubt it's the quiz, though.

Something on the T.V? A trademarked name?

If it's something on the TV, it sounds like it should be a pretty easy fix, so I probably wouldn't bet on that. But I could probably see it being one of the names, actually. (I will rage if it's who I think it is... :1A:) But it could be anything else too. Who knows? I wonder how difficult it would be for them to modify the game to be released on PSN to circumvent this IP issue.. That's really a shame. I'd say maybe they should opt for a remake, but that would probably have to come out of Japan, and Japan doesn't have any issue with re-releasing the games that I know of. Hmm.

Ahh crap, Yuna is the name of a girl in FFX. It would be funny if a toilet company trademarked the Sulfur Bottom.

Legends 2 happened before FFX, though. In fact, the US release of Legends 2 was a good year before the Japanese release of FFX. And if Wikipedia's right, it's actually a real name. I'd have been more concerned with Tron what with Tron Legacy and all, but she's been showing up all over the place over the years and was (duh) confirmed for Legends 3 without hassle at all. Suing seems more of a Disney move than a Square one to me.
...And Loken poses a really good point, even though I doubt that's the source of their IP issues. What were they thinking when they named the Sulphur Bottom?!?!

How does it even make sense for a high class ship? If it was a rusty yellow with stinklines coming out of it it would work but...

Quizzes aside, what other anything in Legends or Legends 2 would cause an IP infringement? :23: I'm having a difficult time coming up with even one issue.

Who knows? It's probably something really trivial and insignificant, that no one should really care about, but someone apparently does.

From what I have infered from this Kotaku article (WHICH IS NOT ABOUT MML!) kotaku.com/5720942/esrb-lists-xenogears-three-other-ps1-classics to rerelease something on PSN it has to be reinspected by the ESRB, so our friend megaman might would come back as a T for Teen, but that T stuff isn't that obvious so maybe the ESRB won't notice it.

First off, I know i'ts been a very long time since anyone posted in this thread, but in this case, there is some merit in it: To my surprise today, I checked out the PSN store and checked out their new stuff... There's a good helping of MML avatars put up, as follows: -Data (sitting) -Serbot (crying) - Mega Man Volnutt - Matilda -Roll (with clipboard) -Tron (wink) -Tron (in news reporter disguise They finally decided to put up something outside the usual servbot/data cannon. They listened.. (obscure and unlikely in this case) I put in a suggestion to put up more avatars aside from Data and the Servbots.. and they did it. While part of me would say "they just did it for the heck of it, no real request played a role in in this decision outside of money-grubbing," ...I don't care- Now I will do what I said I would do when this time came- I will proudly wear Volnutt's avi on my psn account for all to see. While nothing to really throw a big fuss over, I thought you guys should know about this.

Well its good to hear that there is more legends to go around.
Nice video ravenf6, I'd be happy as well.
Wonder if they will come out with more as time goes on?
If Capcom knows what is good for them...err I mean it would be a good business idea. :17:

I bought the volnutt avatar two days ago and I'm loving it. It's the picture of him looking up towards the sky. If I had more money on my PS3 I would have gotten Roll too.I hope they release another volley of avatars with a Teisel one. This isn't so exciting now that it's been confirmed that Legends is coming to PSN though. I was thinking, do you think that some of the muusic in the CD shop was copywrited? I know the classical one wasn't, but maybe the jazz or heavymetal or something.

Sorry for the late reply, but I bought every single MegaMan Legends 2 avatar as they came out. It's the duty of a MegaMan Legends fan! ;D My primary avatar is going to be Mega from now on, but I'll switch around with Roll, the two Tron avatars, and Matilda (I'm guessing they named her avatar "news reporter" to avoid spoilers). I hope they release more characters! The set totally needs to be completed with Barrell, Teisel, and Bon. And while we're at it, can I friend you guys on PSN? Mine is UNIT0918. So far I have Buuhan's, Darfox's, BDK's, and Dash Myoku's.

UNIT 0918, You bought them all? They have a bundle of all 18 of them for like $5. Which I don't think is a good sign if that many are bundled together, I expect we arn't getting anymore avatars. Anyway, my PSN is CaptionLoken if you want to add me, but my PS3's disc drive is wack and I have to send it off so I won't be able to accept the friend request for 2 weeks. Say, I'm going to make a thread for this.
