... THE SHIT?!
Well... Can't say I saw that coming. For serious. Unless this is some crazy elaborate and highly cruel prank, I guess I'll have to eat my pessimism this time.
Most of it, anyway. The pessimism that was associated with a sequel never actually being made, specifically. I do still wonder about the quality of the game... I don't trust all this newfangled 3DS business. Time will tell, though. Very interested in seeing the details they've got in store for the convention.
You know, I was excited at first. Probably more excited than I've gotten over a game announcement in a good while. But now I'm rather sad. I get the sense that this is the end of an era we're looking at here. Things aren't going to be the same, for better or worst.
Also OMGHI AIM.

I'm also more than happy with their choice of consoles, since I need to replace my broken DS as it is, and was considering holding out for 3DS. That is literally the one console I would buy for this game right now. I can't tell you how thrilled I am really. I wasn't expecting it at all. My jaw dropped when I saw the news. Then my heart, when the link to their page wouldn't work. And now that it's clear that it's definitely official I am absolutely struck dumb. Man, oh man, oh man... EDIT: Santa Melty, I agree/relate with so much of your post it's not even funny. I really do not know what to say. It's finally coming. After so many years, I rather doubted it would ever come, but still... I don't think Legends Station is going to be the same after it does. These are going to be exciting but weird times. EDIT-EDIT: My plan to go to sleep totally failed, but that's OK.

Please excuse me as I foam at the mouth and run around in circles I'll probably be up until 9AM hyping over this! :18:
(I wish I could make my post longer but I am mostly speechless, and excited.) *Runs off to play Megaman games now.*

It came. It finally came.
I will die knowing this game existed and I will have played it.
Thank you, Capcom. Thank you, god.

@pitch, Yes indeed... You know, I was half kidding that time I said we'd probably have to recruit all currently active members as mods if a sequel ever got released in order to deal with the influx of new members. I worry over the possible truth of that statement, now. o.o I wonder if now would be a good time to cash in on my mod pension... As far as consoles, I dislike this choice of the 3DS myself. It's understandable, I think, but still. Thought the console was gimmicky when it was first announced, and didn't plan on getting one. My hand may have just been forced, though. Also, I'm very glad I just got a midterm out of the way today. If this announcement had come yesterday or something, I may have been in trouble.

WHO CARES ABOUT COMMERCIAL LAW ANYWAYS. *shoves it under his bed* Anyways, I've heard some games (I.E. Pokemon Black/White) will function almost fully on a regular DS, just without the use of features exclusive to the 3DS (3D particularly, but also the use of an analog stick). Maybe if we click our heels together MML3 will be the same way? ... Then again, MML without an analog stick of some kind? Hrmmmm... D: Aw who am I kidding, I bought a PS2 for MML2 and MoTB way back when; I'll pay the $300.

The 3ds has an analog stick I'm pretty sure it does anyway, I'll have to put this handheld on my top buy list after I get a dreamcast. ds.kombo.com/images/content/news/Nintendo%203DS.jpgMust contain excitement. (Sorry :06: I skim read your post without paying attention.)

Santa Melty I'm not crazy about the 3D gimmick of the 3DS, but that aside, it is a notable increase in the quality of the graphics/system specs/etc.. It seems like a good choice for Legends 3, although a more "neutral" console, like 360 or PS3 may've been nice. I am not complaining in the least. Actually, I'm kind of happy they went 3DS instead of regular DS. (regular DS is so 2004)I'm gonna have to start saving if I'm going to afford any of this. Yikes. :18: Look at this explosion of activity. At 3AM (CST). (47 posts since the announcement so far) With absolutely no details of what's going to be in the game revealed yet. I can only imagine how things are going to be when we start getting more information. @__@ Hah.

Yikes. :18: Yeah, 100% on the 3DS > DS. 3DS was definitely the way to go if they were set on a handheld imo. I'd still prefer a release on a big home console, though. A full-blown PS3 release would have been lovely, but ah well. I was going to say a PC release would have been cool as well, since I've been a total PC junkie lately, but that didn't work out too well in the past... o.o Not sure you could call the 360 or PS3 neutral. If anything, I'd say they cater to an even more niche audience than Nintendo's stuff. I'd rather not get involved in that debate, though. ... Oh, I am scared. I am very scared. :24: I'll see that and raise you a PS3 I bought for exactly 2 games, only one of which I ever got to actually playing and which later got released for PC anyway. :03: A 3DS for 1 game? Precedence says, sure, why not?

I was going to say a PC release would have been cool as well, since I've been a total PC junkie lately, but that didn't work out too well in the past... o.o I would've liked this option, too, if they were to release it on a console I didn't have. I meant more or less in terms of not having innovative gimmicks and quirks. (wii-mote, touchscreen, 3d) Standard systems, standard control schemes, with standard games. (also typically games more likely to make suitable PC ports) I don't want to get a console war going here, either. (now that's so 2004, right there)I'm afraid to go to sleep because when I wake up there will be too many posts to read. I'm not sure how I feel about the community participation factor of this game. It sounds like a good idea on paper, but in another way it makes me uneasy. What is that going to mean for the game? Is the “Tron or Roll” debate going to be settled by an online poll? Something like that? Or actual aspects of gameplay? Something else all together? I like the opportunity to voice my opinion, but I honestly think I'd prefer them to just do whatever they're going to do because they want to do it that way. EDIT: I'll have to try this again. Good night, Legends Station.

Ah, alright. Agreed, then. On both points.
I've got business tomorrow morning though, so I think I shall attempt that sleeping thing now. You all try not to explode too hard, y'hear?
EDIT:
Ah, yeah, same.
I'm going to hold off speculating on what that community participation thing means in the scheme of things for now, though. We've only got a week until we get more info, after all. May as well wait for that, I figure.

I'm kind of worried about that as well I just hope it goes well, and that they are mainly just taking suggestions not changing mass things, last thing we need is a split community. :07:

I hope they port the first three games to 3DS as well, so I could have the entire series on one convenient portable system! Woooo! I love you, Inafune-sama!

GYAH! Well, not too pleased that it's not heading to the consoles, but what can you do. Still super excited for it.

Damm guys, I can't even say I'm remotely happy about this....let's just hope this is the small part of the whole project. 3ds?? I'm sorry but come on, some people on the internet was using this as a damn joke and it actually goes out and be true.
I'll support Keiji to the end, but this definitely is more heartbreaking then all the times I've been denied a Legends 3 and that's coming from the heart.
To those of you who are actually excited for it, congrats. We finally made it...even though it didn't turn out as planned...
