I just hope it's not MegaMan X9 instead. :/

Oh my, I can't wait to hear about what the other title is. Of course, MML3 isn't the only Mega Man title that's been requested for a long time.
I'm confused, are they suppose to announce the new title at Comic-Con this saturday? O.o

This is posted in my "Inafune set to announce new game at Comiccon" thread which is right under this.
And yeah, It's either MegamanX9 or Legends 3, but right now it's probably Legends 3, as when fans at the event started yelling for Legends 3 when Inafune stated he's been working on an oft-requested Megaman game, he just smiled, said thank you, and left.

This is the first time in a long while where I truly believe MML3 may be on the way. Other times I would just be cautiously optimistic.
Here's hoping I'm not setting myself up for disappointment.

This is posted in my "Inafune set to announce new game at Comiccon" thread which is right under this This sort of thing is bound to happen when hype is afoot. People are too excited and can't wait to post a new topic with a vague all-caps header. They don't have time to search through existing threads, even if the thread right at the top mentions a game announcement in the subject. Incidentally there are two other threads in the General section loosely connected to the two here as well.

Wasn't sure what thread I should post this in but I guess a new thread is more appropriate since comic con is already over as far as Megaman is concerned.
To people alittle weary of MML3 coming out and being bad: I don't mean to do damage control on a game isn't even announce(if it even will be), but if Megaman Legends 3 is announced in this era it will definitely be a Third-Person-Shooter. I don't mean that you'll be cutting Reaverbots with a bloody chainsaw like Gears of War or something, but the control scheme of Legends 1 and 2 where that of a Third-Person-Shooter without the right analog stick. You ran forward, backwards, and strafed left and right with the directional buttons. You turned your body with the L1 and R1 buttons. Just like modern games use the left analog stick to move and strafe and the right analog stick to turn and aim.
I only detail this because I can envision people losing their minds if a preview of MML3 was posted and the writer compared the control scheme to some modern bloody shooter. That's just the way it's going to control(or atleast should control) the game they build around that is what we better be concerned about. I'm kinda hoping it gets an E-10 rating(this game needs all the help it can get to sell) but I also hope it's not a completely fluffy story.
But I guess I'm getting ahead of myself since we may have to wait for The Tokyo Game Show in September to find out.

Uh... I was just thinking about this point earlier today. Who knows, they might blow off the 'stuck on Elysium' plot completely... To people alittle weary of MML3 coming out and being bad: I don't mean to do damage control on a game isn't even announce(if it even will be), but if Megaman Legends 3 is announced in this era it will definitely be a Third-Person-Shooter. I'm not really sure where any of these points were brought up. Jhreamer (Razor_Guardian): I never thought of the ending of MML2 as a plot point, more of a gag to show Roll and Tron trying to cooperate. If that turns out to be a major plot device, it's not a terribly interesting one; they get advice from Data and get him down from Elysium. Woo, exciting. @darfox: The other two are third person shooters too, so I'm actually hoping they do go with a Lost Planet control scheme. My concern has more to do with its marketing and target audience, though. Would they be doing this for the fans who grew up with the games, or would it cater primarily towards a new audience who isn't familiar with it? A younger generation with poor taste? :08:

Don't fear guys, Inafune would be working on the game with almost all of the original team. Hope it's similar to the others but in HD and much longer.
I wonder if this will be downloadable or will be full retail $60... The platforms will probably be PS3/360.

True, but I'd be willing to bet money on it. Megaman Legends has always been on the PS1, so a PS3 game is obvious. In addition, Capcom has stated that they are not doing any exclusive games either, so logic says it would be on 360 as well.

I think the odds of it being a Nintendo 3DS game are pretty likely. But speculating too much now might be a waste(or worse, damaging to us when we're disappointed, waaah). Not that we shouldn't talk about it, it's alot of fun just dreaming about getting a new game in the series and now we have more possibilities than ever. Inafune knows exactly what that quote would do to the Legends fan base and he's a jerk if he just threw that out there without it being Legends.
I definitely want it on PS3. I just prefer sitting infront of the TV over portable gaming. I also would really like a re-release of MML 1 and 2(even if they're just the ports to PSN). The only problem I predict with that is: if the re-release sells poorly it may set bad expectation for the actual sequel. With these dangers I wouldn't blame them if they go for a reboot of the series. Not a remake of the first game but just a completely new version of the story. But I'd definitely prefer a direct sequel to part 2.

As long as they aren't being exclusive, I'm happy. My fear was that MML3 would be Wii exclusive and as I'm not entirely opposed to the idea, I'd just rather see the game is wonderful HD goodness.
Speaking of which, they will more than likely port MML3 to Wii, so expect crappy motion-controls...like Twilight Princess. xD
In all seriousness though, I've really got my hopes up for this. So if they unveil X9, I'm just gonna go crawl under a rock and cry.

I think we, as a community, should scout locations, before hand, and find a big enough rock for all of us to crawl under and cry.
Though a 16 bit MMX game would be neat, at this point I'm going for broke. Give me Legends or give me eternal disappointment towards Capcom.
