Overview
Welcome to the newest installment of 'Rate that Reaver'! A rather dangerous reaverbot is being reviewed today, one going by the name of Sharukurusu!
Sharukurusu is one of the more recognizeable reaverbots from the series, especially given the fact that it's the only one that's appeared in all 3 games! These rather dangerous guys generally patrol the area, pacing back and forth, until an intruder (that'd be you) is spotted. At that point they'll come charging after you, lunging their spiraling claws into you when they get close enough. They often attack in tandem with other reavers, be it their own species or another altogether.
These reavers also come in different flavors, although they all act the same. Their larger, more pinkish cousins appear in both the Sub-cities of Kattelox as well as in a pair, functioning as the guardian(s) of the Refractor in Kito Caverns. Some of these even appear in the final fight against Lex Loath and the Collossus in the Misadventures of Tron Bonne. Again, they may be larger and have more HP (and possibly attacking power), but the behavior is pretty much the same. The other, more infamous variation on Sharukurusu is the cloaking variety that appears in Lake Jyun's main ruin. These guys stay invisible until they spot you, in which case they will proceed to rush you. I'm pretty sure that this has caught everyone who ever played MML1 off guard, especially since they placed one on the upper level right next to a treasure chest...
Dealing With It
Sharukurusu are best taken out from a distance, where they pose less of an immediate threat. Any long range weapon will do, provided that you haven't been spotted yet, of course, in which case the basic circling maneuver will do. Interestingly enough, if you get out of their line of sight, Sharukurusu have to re-do the animation before charging at you (try this on the S-License Test). If one does rush at you, a simple jump should get you out of harm's way.
As for their invisible brethren, the best and IMO most hilarious way of dealing with them is the use the Shield Arm. As soon as you hear footsteps, just put the shield up and watch them helplessly smack it! Just like bugs on a windshield! At that point you can use your buster to finish the job.
Coming In For A Landing
Sharukurusu was a pretty cool reaverbot, and even over time it still proved to be quite challenging to deal with. The whole design was pretty great too, as there are very few reaverbots that attack with that kind of speed and power, so it's a nice change from the usual stuff you deal with in the ruins. The whole 'cloaking' thing in Lake Jyun was done very well, I might add. Honestly, I can't think of any real downsides to these guys, so Sharukurusu gets a solid 10!

Ich liebe die Sharukurusu! Then again, who doesn't? IMO, they have all the makings of an awesome enemy. Cool design, considerable size, agressive fighting and... invisibility! And also, they did a very good job of creeping me out when I was little (along with about 90% of the people on here, I`m sure ) And thanks for the shield arm tip, Buster Cannon! I'm definately going to try that out on my next playthrough, which shouldn't be in too long.

Everyone's fave! Some of the only reaverbots that don't force you into some repititious psttern, at least when they're paired. Jyun's Sharukurusus are the best, and I don't think I'd complain if Capcom decided to make the game that much more challenging by making them the standard throughout the game. 10. I like 'em. Here's another atrocity way, way back from when I first starting using photoshop. I like it more than that hideous iScribble thing, if you wanna use it instead.

A well deserved 10 in my opinion... what I think its their biggest flaw is that one they rush at you they can't change direction. Its kinda bad for these guys and good for you.
And... seems like he is a friendly reaver, after all you are right it always comes with some other reaverbots around. I think the only excaption is at the general ruins in KattleOx. If my memory is not faulty, I guess there's a lonely wolf in the whole complex of normal ruins.

They really deserve a 10. Not only do they have shock value (I know I got scared when I heard their footsteps not far from where I am, and the Lake Jyun ones), but they can also pack a punch, and can make things difficult when fought with other reaverbots. I don't know if its intentional, but they aren't so smart when they start chasing you. Even when separated by a wall or a door, they will still charge straight ahead (and you can shoot them to death assuming the barricade is thin). I think the only excaption is at the general ruins in KattleOx. If my memory is not faulty, I guess there's a lonely wolf in the whole complex of normal ruins. cardon sub-gate, large room, right after refractor, there's a lone-wolf there, he's small, green and has good vision and is slightly faster than normal but because of the jakko and jakko nests, you may have flying kamikazes on you while hunting him but he's on the floor and easy to spot since he's near the middle upon entering from the refractor pod. There's two of them actually. They're not really fearsome unless you made the mistake of shooting at them while on the high place with the ramp. And just make sure you're not near a jakko nest.

When I was 6 or 7 and I first encountered the invisible ones at Lake Jyun, I have to admit that it scared me enough to keep me from beating the ruins for a year or two. These are my favorite reaverbots and deserve a perfect 10. ...Now if only they made a giant invisible one...

Anyway to not make this post too offtopic I also like to reference that his guy will knock Megaman to the ground in any way... I don't belive that nothing can stop him for making megaman fall not even the helmet or the Kevlar Armor Omega.

As Raphael sayed about the Turtles Prime, I love these guys! Like others have sayed, they deserve a 10. They work well in numbers, nothing stops them when they spot their target, you never know when they'll strike. All you can hear is the sound of their metalic feet against the ground. They make great predators, although the name is hard to pronounce. Either way, great reaverbot.

Honestly, one of my favorite reaverbots. Nicely balanced in difficulty, not annoying...just great. 10 for sure.
