Extremespeed's a breed-able move for Dratini in HG/SS thankfully; I answered one of the questions wrong myself, so it's nice to know that you can still get someone to trade you one.
I managed to beat Erica earlier with my snow team! The gym leaders certainly don't play around in this game, and it honestly took me a couple of tries to beat her. I like the fact that you can actually see the Kanto badges this time around. In the original games, they were sort of invisible; you obtained them but you could never look at them.

Green, I will be willing to trade back and fore with you to get them pokémons for you. Since I need their data on my pokédex. ^^ But I already have Scizor. I do need that Politoed or whatever it is called.

@slash Me and Staulmaster actually already trade-evolved most of my guys. (incl. Golem, Machamp, Gengar, Alakazam, Scizor and Politoed) In order to get any of the others, I'm going to need to track down a Kings Rock/Metal Coat/Dragon Scale. (or if you have these, you could attach them to Slowpoke, Onix and Seadra — then there are the Gen-III/IV ones which I don't really care about) I could toss back and forth the already evolved guys with you, perhaps in exchange for some guys I don't already have, so I can add a few more pages to my Pokédex. On a related note, Scizor looks awesome in this game. ^__^ Anyway... Do shiny Pokémon evolve into shiny Pokémon? I caught a shiny Rhyhorn, and I want to know if it will become a shiny Rhydon. >__<

Yes. Yes, they do. However, you might not like the new shininess they evolve into. I had a beautiful Ponyta with blue flames that evolved into a Rapidash with grey flames. Ugh, it looks so old...

@staulmaster ∗checks Bulbapedia∗ Oh man.. I would've reset and kept that a Ponyta. ... yeah, shiny Rhydon looks more yellow-ish gold, versus shiny Rhyhorn is a weird reddish. TBPH I'm not crazy about either of them, though. x__x Ah well. @slash I'm going to get on to do a couple more trades with Staulmaster sometime later; I could pass some of my guys along to you too, if you'd like.

Lol yeah, but I needed a Rapidash to beat the Elite 4. Besides, it's not like its that ugly, a shiny pkmn is a shiny pkmn, right?

I would've caught a non-shiny Ponyta and raised that. XD
How about breeding? Do shinies have a higher probability of producing shiny Pokémon eggs?

They used to, but not anymore.
And yeah, I didn't think of it at the time but I was so excited to have a shiny that I absolutely had to use it do beat the elite four, lol.

I wanted to come and rave about how great my Scizor is, but after I ran the actual numbers, I realized it wasn't as awesome as I thought it was. Scizor's “Technician” ability is sweet, but it doesn't carry you as far as I thought. (extra 1.5× boost for attacks with base-damamge ≤ 60 — Metal Claw gets this and it makes it pretty powerful, but not that powerful (50 base damage → 75, 112.5 b/c Scizor's Steel Type, 135 with Metal Coat))
Anyway, I finally beat the Elite Four. That was tough. Picking Cyndaquil as a starter works great in the earlier gyms (there're pretty much no disadvantages until Clair), but a lot of the Elite Four's guys are trickier; and Lance is a beast. (THREE Dragonites!? Try doing that without a type-advantage..) I took some time to level the rest of my team to 45. It didn't help that much. My guys mostly got their butts kicked in the earlier matches — I mostly ended up switching in my Typhlosion (FLAMEMAN). By the time I got to Lance I had to bust out a bunch of healing items to get my guys ready, and they really pulled through. With a little mix of luck (and healing items) and some type-advantages I got rid of most of his guys; it kind of dragged on after a while, really.. The final final battle was epic, though. It came down to one Pokémon each: Lance's Charizard vs. my Typhlosion. (awesomeawesomeawesome) The actual battle was nothing special; I used Eruption, which got a Critical Hit and one-hit KO'd Charizard. Felt great, but I would've enjoyed it if it played out more. (even if I lost) But that was fun.
Anyway, I'm in no hurry playing this game, so I might not go to Kanto for a while. I have plenty of unexplored regions in Johto; plenty of Pokémon to three-volve (or some guys that just evolve at really high levels that I haven't gotten to); I can work on leveling my Eevee team. There's plenty left for me to do. I love this game so much... <3

Though I took a break from the journey yesterday, I managed to do quite a bit in Goldenrod City- I traded for a machop, caught a drowsee, and dropped my magikarp and spinarak at the daycare center- they leveled significantly by the time I picked them up. I'll probably stick around for a while longer: I just beat Whitney for a plain badge (her miltank was so annoying.. <blasted roll out and attract ) I'm so glad I taught my ivysaur leech seed: it really shines in drawn-out battles. I'm going to check out the Game Corner for a while before moving on.

To state, I thought that Blast Burn was going to be helpful in the Elite Four but It was just a pain in the butt since it has only 5 PP and missed a lot for me so I got rid of it and gave Typhlosion the move Dig.

Blast Burn is tricky because you need to recharge after using it. Eruption on the otherhand is just as powerful, but only when you're at 100% HP. There's Fire Blast(buy in Goldenrod Department Store), but that has a slightly weaker base-damage (120 vs. 150) and AFAIK the same accuracy as Blast Burn.

Gonna stop playing the game for now because I'm still too weak to beat the kimono girls (why the heck is fighting them mandatory?!), and trainers aren't calling me for rematches and there aren't any strong wild Pokemon to grind with. I hope this isn't Game Freak's idea of making the game "difficult", 'cause it ain't fun... Oh, and just for fun, allow me to list my Pokemon and their nicknames:
Meganium: Chie (named after Chie Satonaka from Persona 4)
Togetic: Boco (named after Boco the chocobo from Final Fantasy V)
Pigeotto: Vyse (named after Vyse Inglebard from Skies of Arcadia and his cameo appearance in Valkyria Chronicles)
Red Gyarados: Joey (named after Joey Wheeler from Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Abridged Series). Dragon Brooklyn Rage!
Vulpix: Asuka (named after Asuka Langley Shikinami from the Rebuild of Evangelion movies)
Electrode: Rocky (based off of Rock Trigger from none other than the RockMan DASH series!) My favorite nicknamed Pokemon that are currently in the PC are:
Onix: Solid (named after Solid Snake)
Ekans: Liquid (named after Liquid Snake)
Sudowudo: A Tree
Phanfy: SheepMan (named after SheepMan from MegaMan 10, even though I don't care for the game)
Ditto: Flan (named after one of the enemies in the Final Fantasy series) As for my starter for HeartGold, I named my Cyndaquil Axel, after Axel from the Kingdom Hearts series.
