I think the last thing I remember beating fully was Undertale back in early November or something like that. But a few weeks ago my fiance and I both pitched in for a Wii U for our birthdays (our birthdays are only a day apart from one another) and I've got a load of games I'm on my way to beating.
Donkey Kong country 3: While not as good as the first two games in the series, it fits with them pretty well in my opinion with the exception of the overworld map, I'm not a huge fan of having to move a boat or whatever vehicle through the landscape just to get to the level areas, I prefer the style from the first 2 games. I'm probably halfway through the levels at the moment and will try to beat it soon.
Lego Marvel Heroes: This is the first lego game I've played since Star Wars 3 the Clone Wars (a game which I almost 100%). The Lego games had lost a spot for me a while back. I grew up with and beat the first two Star Wars games, then Indiana Jones came out, iirc, and my little bro got that one but it wasn't as interesting. Same with Batman, etc. The the complete saga and clone wars came out and I enjoyed those but since then I haven't picked one up for my own enjoyment. One of the first games I bought for the Wii U was this and so far it's a great game. Amazing how they fit the large NY City in there. The story is okay so far after about 4 or 5 missions in, what I'm really looking forward to is the free play afterward and collecting all of the lego canisters and characters, etc.
I've got a few more games for the wii u but I've barely made a dent in them such as Bayonetta and Yoshi's Wooly World but as I go along I'll come back and give my final input.

Last games I beat where...:
Runbow: I liked the color mechanics approach to this platformer. You had to be careful on progressing, since it could mean the platform you might reach ends up disappearing... and leading to a pit death. The fact you could also play guest stars like Shovel Knight, Gunvolt, and the Teslamancer were a nice side bonus.
Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: After getting my ps4, I felt a bit let down on account of the lacking library for quality RPGs (I did get Tales of Zestiria, which I'll have to get back to, soon), so after hearing about how the digimon fan community convinced Namco-Bandai to bring this game to the U.S. , I used significant store credit to get this game. To my surprise, the story was a bit intriguing, while nuanced with the oddball case and interactions with everyone... just don't drink the coffee concoctions.. ^^;
The turn-based rpg elements worked better than in previous digimon games ( while I liked Digimon World 2, I hated parts of the battle system and dungeon exploring limitations they put into that one). If you know how, you can rake in experience like a gold digger , which means you can explore wide ranges of evolving your creatures (some lines can only be accessed by gaining Ability points, which are earned through digivolving/ reverse-digivolving) . Though there are exceptions like those found in the Royal Knights and Demon Lords, to bear in mind. I liked the idea that they used real life cities like Shibuya, Odaiba, and Roppongi as places to go in the Real World, and going to Eden brings back to mind Mega Man Battle Network. I'd recommend it if you're into Digimon, or if you're looking for an rpg that takes a less-traveled path, compared to what's offered on the PS4, at present.

Finished Super Metroid on New 3DS Virtual Console. Feels good playing 16-bit classics on a portable while in daily transit.

The last game I've beaten is Azure Striker Gunvolt (if only beating the first ending counts.)

I bought and had a blast playing through both Rockman 7 and X on the New 3DS VC. I shared some interesting findings via Twitter over the past couple of weeks, but thought I'd make a quick mention here:
For those familiar with 7, you know how there's a conversation between Dr. Light and Rock after getting a new weapon? Now having played the Japanese version this time around, Auto or Roll would randomly fill in and have completely different (and hilarious) conversations, something completely cut from the English localization for reasons unknown.

Out of curiosity I bought Shantae and the Pirate's Curse from a steam sale. And boy how did this get under my radar? Well.. net exactly under my radar I knew about Shantae's games but I never played them.
So my initial assumptions were correct: the risque design of the characters is for comedy effects. But when I see Shantae wiggling her booty when crouching I can't help but snort more out of cuteness than sexyness. I probably should have gone with this in he proper order but I saw gameplay of this game and found the Pirate weapons to be quite interesting. And despite this I still don't think I missed anything important that was noted from previous games: everything is introduced to you in the first level apart from a couple characters. I find the environments are quite nasty in their way of hiding things, and worst thing is that most of the time, the hidden things behind the background don't lead to anything! Having completed the game trough its true ending with 100% I now find myself against the challenge of speed-running it. I mean I can play Pirate mode to do that but what about the money? I know farming spots but those take too long! Oh well, maybe I'm just overlooking this a bit. The humor is the best part of the game though, it goes from the protagonist herself, to the bosses, to even a couple of minions! It's fascinating.

The Shantae series is definitely something of a gem. I enjoy the consistency they keep with the story, characters, music, and gags. The series has a considerably strong fanbase, too, if the enthusiasm for "Shantae 4 Smash" wasn't noticeable enough. Kinda surprising that Bayonetta won the ballot in spite of that, though. Anyhow, WayForward has a real competitor under their wing. Hopefully they'll continue to treat their IPs properly.

I remember the last two years when I nearly beat 100 games combined. I doubt I reach double digits this year. Anyway...
2) Marble Blast Ultra (May 28th, 360) -You ever play Marble Madness or any of the Super Monkey Ball games? That's basically what this near launch 360 title is like as you go through sixty courses spread out on three difficulty levels to reach the goal. Some levels have you collecting gems before you can unlock the goal teleporter. Others are filled with tons of hazards or slopes that are not easy to get around on even with items like a super spring or helicopter.
I thought this game had some fun moments in the first two settings, but the third set of courses in the Advanced category were more hit and miss. When you nailed a winning run on them, it felt great though, and that's the mark of a good game. I think I'm going to give this one a C+ since the courses near the very end were enough to drive down my enjoyment of the title a little bit from the solid mark I originally thought it was at. Still, it's an above average fun time, so yeah. Two games down in five months. Woo.

I recently started playing Dragon Ball Xenoverse... which I then completed... more importantly, I've discovered I can mod DBXV. Which I did. I created a new armor set. The game has also given me a distinctive headcanon for my character, which I'm finding very difficult to utilize.
Its a very fun game with simple controls for a fighter, but despite being simple, they are very efficient. I would recommend it to anyone (capable of appreciating Dragon Ball as a setting) who was sort of interested in the fighting genre, but not really eager to jump headlong into all the complex combo inputs and microtiming stuff.
Its one of those rare instances where its extremely easy to get the hang of, while still leaving room for true mastery.
But enough of that. Being moddable is a huge boon to people like me, who basically lives to play games in ways they weren't intended.

I recently downloaded and beat Kirby: Planet Robobot during a stay with my grandma. It felt good to get back to one of my favorite video game franchises after so long. The Robobot Armor itself is fun to use, and has a lot of different forms that are entertaining; my favorite is Cutter Mode, with its twin construction buzzsaws that you can charge and fire at different angles. I loved the Jet Mode sections as well, especially World 3-4's, which brought back a boss I hadn't seen in ages in the Kirby world: Kabula, the blimp from the original Kirby's Dream Land (and, from what I now know, Kirby Super Star Ultra's Revenge of the King). The collectible stickers are neat, too, especially since you can apply them to the left or right arms of the Robobot Armor. I stuck two Kirby Doodle stickers on it to give it that graffiti feel (remind me to take a screenshot sometime for you guys if I can).
The final boss of the game is a huge throwback. I won't spoil it, but suffice to say, it's entertaining to see.

I actually bookmarked something from Tumblr that was posted during the first week of Planet Robobot's announcement. I think it's within our range of interest here.

3) Mighty No. 9 (July 9th, PS4) -I've been showing my first run of MN9 on my YouTube channel. I pretty much say it in the description on the last video, but the version I played is not bad. It's just not great or good either, and I can understand why that's a disappointment. It has moments where it totally gets the Mega Man X or Zero formula, but it doesn't do it anywhere near as well as Azure Striker Gunvolt did. MN9's biggest problem was having the bright idea to take a small team and have them make a game filled with a decent amount of content for six different systems and release them all at the same time. That was sheer lunacy. I don't even think AAA developers would be crazy enough to do that outside of maybe the sports game makers. You want to know where the budget went? There it was. It should've been a staggered release deal like with how Shovel Knight played out instead of reaching for the stars and barely getting off the ground like this game did. That's a shame because I like it way more than I don't, but it's only a C- to me in the end when, with better planning, it could've and should've been better. In its own bubble, MN9 is better than nothing, but factoring in who was working on it, that's not enough here. Bummer.
