Overview
Welcome to the 4th topic in the 'Rate that Reaver' series! This topic is about a reaverbot that really loves to evolve, the Bal Kacche! These are seen every now and then in the minor ruins, but the largest concentration of them reside in Saul Kada's heated ruins. While some of them transform from their larval state into a fully grown moth, the majority of the ones you encounter are already transformed.
In their young larval state, they hang from the ceiling, dropping when a digger wanders too close. This is a pretty startling sight the first time you encounter it, and will generally catch you off guard. Their sole means of attack resides in a high-damage flamethrower, burning any digger within it's path.
What, Bal Kacche Larva is evolving? Should you defeat the larva, a Bal Kacche Moth will rise up. Ironically enough, the Moths are actually much easier to deal with, as their sole means of attack involves them getting close and sprinkling you with a white powder that invokes paralysis. They also like to swoop down and try to ran you physically, although this is more rare.
Dealing With It
These reaverbots are not too much trouble, as the larva are the main threat, and they are not seen too often. The element of surprise is in effect as the ceiling-drop caught me off guard quite a bit the first time I encountered this reaver.
The flamethrower is pretty dangerous, but staying out of it's range helps quite a bit. I will note that Shoebafun are often in the same room, so be careful not to get setup on! As for the moth, they are pretty light, and do not require too much effort to take down. The Light Barrier outright nullifies the paralysis attack, so taking out the moth from a distance is pretty viable.
Coming In For A Landing
As a whole, it was pretty interesting to see a reaverbot translation of insects and their metamorphosis. Their colorful design was nice as well, as it really shows the improvement over the sometimes bland designs of the Legends 1 reavers. I give the Bal Kacche an 8/10!
If you want to see a certain reaver next, let me know!
