Name: Karumuna Bash HP: 1728 Location: Clozer Woods Sub-Gate/Main Gate | |
Overview
Welcome to the 3rd installment in the 'Rate that Reaver' series! This edition is about a group of reaverbots who are very protective of their territory, the Karumuna Bash! First seen in the Clozer Woods Sub-Gate, these reaverbots are seen napping quietly in their room. These reaverbots instantly leap into action when a digger enters their space, attacking with a violent ferocity!
The Karumuna Bash look pretty much like robotic dogs. They come in three colors Red, Navy Blue, and Gray. Unlike the Blumebears, there is no real difference between the three dogs. They are initially fought as bosses in Clozer Woods, interrupting a rather interesting conversation about digiging, but they later reappear in the Main Gate as separate reavers. They drop a rather nice amount of zenny when defeated as well.
Dealing With It
The Karumuna Bash can be rather overwhelming when first encountered. 3 dogs attacking at once can be a lot to manage, but they aren't the toughest enemy in the game, either. Constant movement really makes this battle a lot easier.
Karumuna Bash likes to run around a lot, lunging at you every so often. As long as you keep moving you can avoid this. Sometimes it will also jump back and fire a flamethrower at you. The flame is constant, but you can aoid it by simply staying back. The trick is to take them out one-by-one, which makes the battle a lot easier. Staying out of their immediate range is key for survival.
Coming In For A Landing
Overall, Karumuna Bash was a pretty noteworthy and memorable reaver in MML1, and that theme was pretty awesome as well! I give these guys a 9/10!
If you want to see a certain reaver next, let me know!

They were decent reaverbots, but the fact that they only appeared in two places only was a major let down. The fight with them was, well, pretty lame. As you said, moving all the time makes them bothersome flies, nothing more. I give them a 7 out of 10.
EDIT: Do the Bal Kacche Moth next please!

MY FAVORITE! Awesome design, especially with the reaver eye in the mouth - that's cool. They're tough and actually have a plan of action other than "sit and shoot" or "follow and pummel" But once you get the hang of it they're fun to battle and the rewards are good. My favorite spot to zenny farm is in the main gate where there are three of these. 10/10

Admittedly I just like these because of their design and behavior. They're huge, lanky and fast. And as an added bonus they also for some reason breath fire. Very dog like.
Though yeah, fighting them is a refreshing change too. They're the only Reaverbots I can think of in MML1 that circle and surround their prey. It's not hard to overcome that, but it's a neat tactic you didn't see a lot of in that game, especially in their fist encounter as mid bosses. It kept you on your feet.
These are some of my favorites, alongside Sharukurusus and Horokkos as iconic enemies you'll remember fondly.
9/10

These are some of the more memorable reaverbots in the game. Very iconic; the wolf enemy in MML2 tried to emulate it and failed. It's part of what makes MML a unique game. I'd say 9 out of 10.

I love the design on these guys. It was such a change from the humanoid reavers that you ran into earlier in the game (not counting the zakabon...those guys were pods...or something.) so it caught you off guard. And the way they ran across a room was beautiful for a psOne game.
I give em' and 8/10. I'd give them a nine bu they scared the heck out of me when I ran into them in the main gate, or rather they ran into me just as I was about to leave them room. It was kind of like-
Megaman: 'Tra la la la la' *runs on by*
*Reaverbot wakes up*
Karu B: 'FOOD!' ~BAM~ 'OM NOM NOM NOM'

Interesting to note about the Karumuna Bash, if you activate the Chameleon Net, or whatever it was called--the item that makes you invisible for a short period of time, the Karumuna Bash will stop running and instead start walking slowly towards you, as if it was sniffing you out.

Wow, that's pretty interesting. I'll have to play around with the Chameleon Net some to see if anything else interesting like this happens. I may even end up writing something on the item itself.

Here is a trick for the black in the main gate. Run in circles, the wolf will do the same except you are faster and you will be on that thing's butt. These guys were cool: 8/10 Also the guys as bosses were a good opposite boss from the Gardution(probably spelled wrong).
Can you do Bon Bonne please?

These guys were cool: 8/10 That was the "ultimate technique." I think it works on just about every boss (there are exceptions, depending on the terrain). I dunno if I've rated them before, but I give them 7/10 for having the shock factor in the Clozer Ruins and that they put up a fight, but not for long with Active Buster's angular (sharp) turns when it homes in on them.

Karu-B: 1000000 of 10 JK 10/10
this guy gave my the Heebie geebies of the highest and creppiest quality
it's funny he's still scary to me, but he's my fave foe in all MML i'm sad MML2 didnt include him
i do wish however, i could have one as a pet,
but really he reminds me of the zoid: liger zero Jager, only with flame-breath
btw: interesting facts: his flame breath instantly break your shield whether it's the mid-boss form or the main-gate breed, it'll break your shield if the flame connects
unfrotunately all his attacks are front-ended and he's open from behind however his AI was higher quality than most reavers on me, he'd change direction constantly trying to get me in his lunge-range
one time i actually got him with the drill arm, but...he got me back, badly...
simply put: best reaverbot ever, of all time Karunuma Bash gets an undisputed "MY FAVORITE REAVER: 10 OF 10" from me

10/10, my favorite reaverbot in the entire game.
The design is what really makes it awesome for me. Really started to appreciate it when I was zenny farming in the main gate, as they were always fun to fight and cool to look at.

These guys made the Main Gate hard for me to travel in when I was trying to get the Broken Drill item. At leat my first time through I would definitely give these Reaverbots a 8/10
