Here´s another drawing, this is called "Roll in Battle Suit". I based my idea on the beta sketches of Roll using a belt and some kind of gun. The story: after Megaman get lost in Elysium, Roll and Tron tryed to build a spaceship, but when there aren´t materials left, both sides, (Roll & Bones) had to go looking for them. Roll then build some weapons for her, and go out digging. Some years passed, and now Roll is 17 years old, she have now the power to protect herself. i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo199/Rockman_Striker/coloredrollbattlesuitbyrockmanstrik.jpgDon´t ask me how strong she is to grab that!

It's a great picture, definitely an improvement over the last one. You clearly paid a lot of attention to detail, and the shading is also well done. It's colorful and accurate, just like your previous one, except with a more complex outfit design and a more motion-filled pose. It was an interesting idea basing the design off of beta images. I've actually done the same thing before, only with Tron. Despite my efforts, I am unable to find much critisism for your piece of art. The wrench seems slightly out-of-place in the Legends series, but don't let the boundaries it set stop your imagination!
All in all, very cool, colorful and energetic. I'm looking forward to your future images! ;D

Hmm... I like the pose, the costume has a simple appeal. As for the wrench, I'd be scared if she started to swing that thing around. I'm more of a traditional pencil-and-paper artist, so I can't offer any significant criticism: the coloring and shading's pretty good, though.

Problem with this battle suit is that it isn't a battle suit at all if you consider the background of Diggers, that out of the way this is a nice picture, but i have one complain, where is Roll's trademarked hat?

Roll's battle suit doesn't appear to offer much protection.. ; I suppose “Don't get hit” is her strategy for that. But then again, I don't really recall seeing any other diggers all armored up like MegaMan is, so who knows.. I like it, though. It's pretty clever, fighting with a large wrench. (and a gun, apparently) Maybe you can do a Tron “battle suit” to go along with your backstory dealy here. (Yuna would always be cool, too)

And you know, this is a funny yet sad coincidence since i thought i was the only one who thought roll would do well with a giant wrench and gun and now i see i'm not special anymore. I like this wrench design more though, because then she could adopt a battle style similar to that one oarmans use.

That's...quite a wrench. Roll's battle suit doesn't appear to offer much protection.. ; I suppose “Don't get hit” is her strategy for that. But then again, I don't really recall seeing any other diggers all armored up like MegaMan is, so who knows.. Russel in MOTB had pretty heavy armor. Then again, Perl had next to nothing, so I guess anything goes.

A Wrench isn't a new weapon in a video game. Ratchet uses a wrench but that reminds of a key blade.
Roll can always use the giant wrench as more of a staff...somehow.
What!? No traditional Roll Hat! Blasphemy! You are on the old Hit List I had many centuries ago. I just have to find.
It's very colorful though.

It's usually the case that warrior men in most video games have a lot more armor then women. If you think about it, it makes sense. Men are the weaker sex so they need lots of cool armor and big swords to defend themselves. Women are physically much stronger and better able to protect themselves, so they can get away with wearing only armored bras and panties.

If i'm not mistaken, the prime example of this are the World of Warcraft female elves amirite?

Even though the outfit itself looks practical, I think the name "battle suit" is a bit misleading. Cool design, anyway. BTW, I always thought of that gun in the beta drawings as a tool, like a power drill. It's usually the case that warrior men in most video games have a lot more armor then women. Women are physically much stronger and better able to protect themselves, so they can get away with wearing only armored bras and panties. In all seriousness, women have a sleeker physique. I don't doubt game developers use this as an excuse to exploit sex (hello samus), but if you look at it from a more realistic POV it makes plenty sense. Women are more graceful and stealthy, men are better suited to smashing things with their humungous, unnaturally masculine bodies.

So does that mean my design of the Druckwelle is not what you would have made for her gun?

Nah, that's different. I got where you were going with the druckwelle in that it's a weapon. I was just talking about the gun/tool/whateveritis in the beta design.

Thanks for all your comments again. where is Roll's trademarked hat? What!? No traditional Roll Hat! Blasphemy! I don´t have anything against Roll´s hat, it´s just i thought the hat doesn´t fit for this occasion, that´s all. I mean, if she have to fight a reaverbot, she needs to evade attacks, if she appreciate that hat (It was from her father if i´m right) she doesn´t want it to get lost or damaged. Roll's battle suit doesn't appear to offer much protection.. ; I suppose “Don't get hit” is her strategy for that. I like it, though. It's pretty clever, fighting with a large wrench. (and a gun, apparently) Even though the outfit itself looks practical, I think the name "battle suit" is a bit misleading. BTW, I always thought of that gun in the beta drawings as a tool, like a power drill. -Maybe she can use that wrench to protect herself too? -I´m not good for naming drawings so that´s the first thing that came to my mind. -Well, that gun it´s a multifunctional weapon, it can be used like a buster, shooting plasma, ions, or whatever thing the MegaBuster fires, it can be modified to fire special bullets, and can be also normal tools! like a drill. Something i want to add: since i first draw the sketch with pencil, when i tryed to draw the "little" wrench, it look so crooked, so when i colored it in my computer i made the wrench in 3d, using Corel Draw, that´s why it looks so straight. ;D

The pose and design reminds me of the female pirate in Megaman ZX Advent, if only a bit. Only thing I can find fault in is the hair; it's a bit weird looking in the back. Secondly... do you realize you've have perfectly described my fanfiction, Legends 3: Endgame? Did you draw inspiration from my fic, or did we just both happen to have the same idea? Of course, the Roll in my fic wears more... 'traditional' battle armor than yours .
