December.
Discuss.
I personally hate cutting real trees for christmas, so i have one of those fakes-but-real-looking plastic trees. I just put colored lights all over it.
Don't you love christmas lights? I can stare at them the entire night, very relaxing and stupifying.
Anyway, right now i'm knitting some scarfs i'll give as gifts. Yes, i knit because that's what men high on testosterone do.

Does it even get cold in Mexico? I don't believe you... >_> Anyway, yeah. I hate winter around here. I guess it depends on where you are, though. I've enjoyed winter in Canada. Michigan isn't exactly temperate, so the changing weather forces the snow into dirty slush all season long. I dislike it. It's depressing, and it lasts forever.

Well, it gets cold for us, the entire year we are at normal to hot temperature, so a slight change in it (like for exampe, say, 12 C°) is already cold for us, since we are used to hotter temps, that temp that might be cold for us could be hot for you depending on where you live.
So technically the planet does not get any colder relatively to the normal planet weather alteration but we do.
So you hate christmas? That's bad.

Eh, I don't hate Christmas, I just hate my family. If I'm celebrating with friends it makes the season much more tolerable. Unfortunately that's rarely the case. I noticed that about people in warmer climates. I was in Texas in November a few years back and people were wearing coats, while I desperately wanted to remove layers myself. I don't get it.

I love Christmas and winter...especially the overcommercialization of it all. Black Friday is metric tonnes of fun.
But the one thing that's been bugging me is the overuse of gift bags. Whatever happened to just plain wrapping presents? It's more fun to open that way, what with all the ripping and tearing and whatnot...and you always feel kind of guilty throwing the bag out if it's a nice-looking gift bag. >.>

I've lived in Hawai'i most of my life, yet I don't like the heat here. That's largely because I get heat rash really easily. I always look forward to the colder weather. Yep, I'd rather wear a bunch of sweaters and stay toasty than wear light clothes and still die from the heat. We don't have snow here, so whenever it rains during winter, I call it "Hawai'ian snow". I love Christmas because it gives me a reason to give gifts to my friends. Their appreciation for my gifts is a good enough Christmas present to me. ;D

What counts is the meaning, do not forget that. And i agree with you there. You can remove cold by wearing more clothes, but you won't get rid of heat even if you get naked.

Lawl. 12 C° is pretty close to my “ideal temperature” year-round. I'd call that like, just on the cool side around here. Unfortunately, it's only that nice around here at like, the very middle of spring and autumn. Today we're at about... 2.22 C°, so just this side of freezing.
I wouldn't mind it so much if it didn't make commuting such a pain in the butt. Taking public transportation used to be cool.. now it's freezing! ...I need to fire the guy who writes my jokes...
(Other than that it's okay. Snow is fun to look at..)
Christmas is good. Fake trees are all right too; colored lights? awesome. And if over-commercialization is anything more than a minor concern, you're doing it wrong.

Hmm. This part of the country is in the perfect place to wildly change temperature throughout the winter with little warning, so our snow turns into sludge and ice. My car was completely frozen shut this morning, and now it's about 31F, so just under freezing. It'll probably warm up some more, though. Once the sun goes down it'll drop to about 10F, so everything that melted over the day can refreeze into a slippery death-trap. Back when I lived in Montana, it got cold and stayed that way, so it was actually an easier winter even though it was usually colder there than it is here. I hate the cold, but I love layering in warm clothes. Knits and coats and hats are some kind of fetish for me, I swear.
We use a fake tree, too. You just have to remember to dust them off before you string the lights on them. XD I love Christmas. Christmas Eve is even better, though. Cuddling up on the couch with a Tom and Jerry and a plate of cookies, watching old movies with the boyfriend and/or the family--that's a perfect night right there. And the twinkly colored lights look nice in the dark. *_* And baking. I love baking, and winter is the only time the oven doesn't make the house uncomfortably warm.
Working during this season is unpleasant, though. Some poor retail worker in New York actually got trampled to death on Black Friday morning. People can get...really ugly sometimes. I enjoy giving presents, though, especially when I know just the perfect thing to give someone. <3

Luckilly for me, we are starting to get real Summer weather. No worries about cold weather; only hot days.

Cool weather doesn't bother me too much. I especially enjoy the snow that winter brings; snow is fun to look at (and throw at people).
I like the Christmas season because it's a rather friendly time of year.

I totally love Christmas! Turning on the radio and getting bombarded with Christmas music is one of my favourite things about this time of year. The snow really sets the mood as well, especially if there's a ton of snow on the ground and it's still snowing outside (reminds me of Yosyonke city <3). I hope my area gets snow this year, I remember that a few times we've had a green Christmas...come on Canada, bring on the snow!
My family switches back and forth between those fake trees and actually buying real ones. I think my mom said we aren't having any Christmas trees at all this year, and whatever she says goes, so...there's no use in arguing xD
Usually around this time I would be finishing my classes at university, but my school has been on strike for about a month now, so I'm not sure what's going to happen to my Christmas holiday (if my school even gets one now, haha).

I don't like the cold itself. I do, however, like the snow, the Holidays, and the generally cheery atmosphere of the season. One thing I really like, though, is the old ragtime Christmas specials like Ruidolph, Frosty, Year Without a Santa Claus, etc. Though, speaking of that last special, ABC's making a new spinoff based on the Miser Bros. I hope they don't mess it up again, like the 2006 remake.

I...really dsilike winter. At least, I dislike it where I live. It tends to snow a lot at around the end of December and the beginning of January. The first snowfall is always "pretty", but that's just a sickeningly sweet cover up for what's to come. Disgusting brown sludge in the streets as you slop your way through. The sidewalk is usually covered with a wall of snow, as the snow removers push it only as far as they can, so you usually can't walk there.
The thing I hate most though, is the short days. I can't describe how depressing it is to walk into school at 9:00am or 11:00am when it's moderately bright out (as bright as it gets during the winter days) and coming out at 4:30pm 5:00pm and seeing a pitch black sky. But hey, the season goes by fast anyway, so it's not so bad.
Christmas time is alright. I mean, the whole christmas trees, lights, decorations, gift giving/receiving and all that. I don't really like partaking in it, but it is a nice change of pace, especially right after Halloween.

I think I'd rather have a fake tree than a real one. If not a fake tree, then no tree at all is my preference. Save the trees people. Our beloved Earth is dying as she is. Why kill her more at the time where we're supposed to be giving? Also, I've gotten kinda tired of decorating the tree. I don't really look at the ornaments. I only like the pretty lights when the lamp's off.
