First time you played MML: what got you into it?

for me, it was the ruins network. You're underground with nothing around you but cold machinery; the music is droning and atmospheric.

I remember playing this game for the first time at my friend's house and I just hated because I wanted to play MegaMan X instead (not that I was into MM that much, nor am I now).

The fact that it was MegaMan in 3D I wasn't aware of all the nifty features of the game until a few years ago...

Another possible answer is that it had a fully explorable island.

Even though the I started with Legends 2, I can still post what attracted me to the series. At the time, I had recently been introduced to Megaman through my friends copy of MM8. Anyway, I bought this, and I fell in love with the system. You were able to check everything, the weapons were fun to play with, and the characters in the game were memorable. Same for both games actually.

The thing that got me into it was the fact that it was a Megaman game.

The thing that got me into it was the Bonne family. They fascinated me completely and still do to this day. I've still never seen a group of quasi-villains quite like them, anywhere else, and even if there are characters like that elsewhere, I don't think I want to find them, to be perfectly frank. The casting was perfect, especially Teisel. I'd like to see him fully animated one of these days, just flipping out over something totally menial, like forgetting to separate colors from whites while doing the laundry, because the limitations of the PSX did not do the man justice.

Tron Bonne was my first love before Yuna.. in my first playthroughs I enjoyed the whole MegaMan and Tron thing. I thought that was done pretty well. I <3'd Tron's voice for some reason too. (not to say it isn't well done, but yeah..)

The general feel of the game was nice too.. not only breaking into the third dimension, it offered a very cool, free-roaming, open-adventuring gameplay that was still basically linear. Having the island to wander around, loads of people to talk to, random objects to investigate.. It's the immersion factors common to RPGs, plus the basic gameplay of an action adventure game. There's a lot of personality to it; it felt like you were actually on the island.

When my interest in the game had died down for a long while, Yuna was responsible for bringing me back around and ultimately here.. she's been my obsession ever since.

main reason, MML is 3D, and I hate 2D MM very much(dont ask me why, there's no reason) and Ifound I like the sotry and things between Rock, Roll and Tron, so I play MML2 also, and Rock get two more girls that can be involved in Roll and Tron's fight of Rock's heart:P

Well, the first thing that caught my eye about seven years ago, was Mega Man on the cover.

I just got my first computer and was looking for a game. I had played the old NES games, but wasn't a big MM fan. Then I read the box, and decided it would be awesome.

When I started playing, and even now, I think one of my favorite aspects are the dungeons ('cos I'm kind of a fan of Dungeon Crawlers and rouge-likes) and the general gameplay style.

I think the coolest thing would be a D.A.S.H. MMO.

I saw my brothers kick a vending machine, and after that I really wanted to play. When I started a new game, I just really wanted to kick stuff (the can was fun for a while too).

Other than kicking things, the Bonnes really got me into Legends, I loved how...unique they were. Mega Man himself also got me into Legends, I thought he was the nicest kid ever and took an instant liking to him, making him my video game hero/role model.

The thing that really got me into it was the free roaming. I had grown up playing linear action games like Sonic and Crash Bandicoot, and here was this game that let you go anywhere! You could investigate everything! You could talk to everyone! You could kick a can! You could get run over by cars!

I also liked the ruin network. It still seems endless even now. The only thing that came close to that feel in MML2 was the Nino ruin, and that was more annoying than fun.

Oh yeah. And there were the Bonnes and the servbots. Gotta love the legomen.

Oh yes, the can. I spent many moons kicking that thing. And blowing up the soda machines was quite fun, also.

I was at a video rental store with my cousin when he picked out this random game and he was like: "how about Megaman Legends?", I looked at the back and thought it looked cool, so we rented it. I couldn't finish it in time, but luckily I had a friend whom I borrowed it from and I finished it. After that, I went to the nearest Toys R Us and Maxi to get the Misadventures of Tron Bonne and Megaman Legends 2 respectively. Can't say what really got me into it, it was pretty much everything. I was particularly endeared by the cheerful and charming style of the game.

I got it because it bore the Megaman name, and I got addicted to it because the mystery in the story was was addictive. I just love letting my mind wander about other species and doomsday weapons and pre-human existence. Especially all the stuff about the underground sub-gates with robots that lived under people without them knowing. Even if it is all fantasy, it's an interesting theory for what exists besides us.

The first time I played was like 3rd grade. I went into the basement to play it. I played it for like 5 min. I got so pissed by the tutorial ruins. We went to pick up my sister from the middle school, feeling really dissapointed, I decided to bring the instruction manual. While sitting for an hour in the 110 degree car, I noticed the picture on page 6 where there were trees, and it didn't look like the survival-horror game I thought it to be after playing the first ruins and getting killed by the boss reaverbot 5x (I was used to turn based Digimon Word 3, the most action I had was Resident Evil, which only my dad played 'cause it scared the crap out of me, and Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace with the famous debug menu). After this descovery I came home, beat the boss reaverbot, spent about 2 years obsessing over the game and playing it nonstop the first time I beat it, I had a total time of 79 hours. First good action game I ever played. I really got into it and spent more time online looking up walkthroughs and side-quests, and I found this site, and the forums, and 2 years later became a member. Good times!

lol I remember the first time I brought it home, I guess I was about in 3rd grade, and I brought it home and played it even though my mom was telling me to go to bed. The ambience of the music and the wall tiles had me so creeped out and pumped up that when I went into the boss room and that big reaverbot charged at me, I yelled 'HOLY ----' louder than I had ever yelled anything, and my mom forced me to go to bed without playing the game anymore. I couldn't wait until school ended the next day.
