Click here for the story at gamespot.comIt's pretty amazing. At first I didn't like too much how it looked but when I read what it could do my mind exploded. It's like a TV remote and you could aim it at specifc parts of the screen. What I mean is that if the game is a first person shooter you just point the controller where you want to shoot instead of shifting your way through an analog stick. It has attachments that work for specific type of games(I hope they don't cost too much). But you should read the story. It's better explained there.

It's definitely unique, but I don't like it. I like the whole, point it somewhere on the screen get an appropriate reaction dealy, but it's too much like a remote... Totally don't dig the one hand action. I can barely stand playing my SP since it's so narrow(mainly just in 3D levels).
I can see why they would've kept this under wraps, since it's definitely unique, but I hope there're other models of the control that are more... controller like.

Hrrrrm...sounds like holding that thing could cramp up your arm pretty quickly. *Imagines holding a remote up for hours at a time* Ah, well...I trust Nintendo and all, since they did manage to pull off the DS all right (though the DS could use a paint program, what with its stylus and all).
It does make me a bit uncomfortable, though, all these risks Nintendo's taking with their hardware. Seems like every new generation could make or break them. One wrong move, and POW! Sony and Microsoft home in and swallow them up. I have to commend them for holding their own for such a long time though, and I sincerely hope that the Revolution makes for a nice comeback and all.

Nintendo wont be broken. It's making tons of money right now on Nintendogs alone. The Nintendo fanboys will absolutely buy it even if they don't like it. So they are garanteed some money.
I personally think the controller is very cool. And playing NES games are cool since you just flip the cntroller sideways and it's the same exact shape as the original controller. And yeah. I'm willing to bet that they will make more "traditionally" shaped controller for the people how are afraid of change.

It's not that I'm afraid of change, hell I'm used to handling a remote for hours and hours on end, I just don't know what on Terra I'm gunna do with my other arm(please don't suggest anything wrong, I meant that seriously)! And with only the thumb on one hand to push buttons, I dunno how I'm gunna manage those fast levels of games where you have to press like a million buttons at once. Though that B Button on the back or whatever might remedy that. I still really love two handed controllers. But the way it works is just brilliant, I must say, so I think it'll be fine.
*imagines Metroid with that controller*

WOW!!! That's better than a gyroscope! This'll definately change gaming! For the arm cramp thing, I think by the time it's release, you'll be able to sit anywhere and just sit down and relax your arm on your leg and just move your wrist. The whole flipping it around and using it for NES games is AWESOME!!! And this'll make buying games on the download thing (OMG, I FORGOT THE NAME OF IT!) even easier. As for the second hand, I think they have a bunch of other peripherals. AND THEY BETTER RELEASE LIME GREEN AT THE START!!! ARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

Yeah I heard that they interviewed one of the testers and he said that at first he didn'y like it. But when he found out that he could rest his wrist on his lap(the same way he used the other controllers) he loved it.
I kinda like the red one. But I might just stick too white if the console is white.

Yeah, after looking into it a little more they do have some sort of analog stick attachment thing that you use in the other hand. And if people are STILL afraid of using a remote control, they've said it's going to have some sort of extra dealy that will make it more "traditional", while STILL using the uber awesome remote functions... Assuming the article dealy I read was legit. cube.ign.com/articles/651/651559p1.html

Hooray for Nintendo!!! When I first saw it, I didn't have any posative or negative feelings at all, I was just baffled. Then I read about it, and I love it. They've been talking about this thing for a long time, so I'm glad I finally get to see it. Being a fan of Nintendo from way back, I can't wait for the Revolution!
[EDIT]
I just happened to be thinking about MML3, and I would be willing to wager it would come out on all three consoles, IF it comes out this generation at all. *crosses fingers*

Yeah I just saw that Gamecube controller add on. But I haven't even read the article so I don't know if it's real or a mock-up ign put together to give you an example of what they could do.

It's a mock up. Nintendo hasn't officially shown anything yet.

But I don't think that anyone whould say anything bad about Nintendo if they copy that exact same design. Click here to see a few more.I like the gun one simply because it looks like it'll feel right. Its funny how people's imaginations are going wild with Nintendo hardly showing anything at all. But I guess thats whats so smart about Nintendo's design. I can be modled into anything with a simple add-on port.

Interesting. I’m impressed that Nintendo is willing to take so many risks with their new generation systems. On the DS, the double screen and microphone were great, although the stylus was a little overboard, but that seems to have worked out well so far. This may be a little too unconventional for many people these days, yet I can see the potential. We can be assured that it’ll sell great in Japan, although I’m not so sure about the outside audience. Then again, they may even attract an entirely new wave of players from the sheer novelty of the controller. We shall see.
The idea is SO Nintendo. The last time I played something like this was back on the NES or Super Nintendo. It was one of them anyway. The game was Duck Hunt, and it used that gun-shaped controller that you could aim at the screen to shoot targets as they flew past. And that was only a gun. I was convinced that this new one could do just about anything after I saw Darfox’s link with the peripheral ideas. Still, it would be a pain to have to keep track of so many attachments and extras, not to mention they’d probably cost more then a... a... a PSP perhaps. Actually, that makes perfect sense, since it is a home console and all. Besides that, it would take forever to master a one-handed controller after years of two-handed accommodations. As Pitch said, I don’t know what I’d do with my other hand either. I guess it would be a good thing if I could multitask since I might be able to do something productive while I play, but I can’t. Thank goodness. Anyway, how is it powered if it doesn’t hook into the system? I didn’t see anything about it in the article. I suspect it would use batteries, but with features like this, it would probably chew through them like nobody’s business.
Either way, it’s a great concept. And besides, this is only a prototype. By the time it comes out, I’ll be so exited that I may even overlook their little battery problem. o.o

Yeah, it's slightly different than Duck Hunt though(I played that game too!). instead of using the TV's scanlines, it uses its own motion detecters, supposedly, which should make it work on HDTVs and whatnot.
As far as batteries go, they're not sure yet, but they're trying to come up with an easy means of powering it. Like the rechargable type battery dealies that have a little stand you can hook it up to and let it charge while you're away. It was somewhere in the link dealy I posted I think, if not then one darfox posted.

I certainly hope it isn't going to make the Revolution cost upward of 500 dollars, but if it's affordable, I'll give it a shot. Like I said though, it's a gamble. The controller, while innovative, could either warp Nintendo to a level way ahead of the competition, or leave the company in a position to get gobbled up and converted to a third party. I honestly couldn't pass accurate judgment until I've actually used the controller, but I do see plenty of possibilities.
